Why is the ac light flashing in your 09 mitisubishi galant?

The AC Light flashing can be caused by numerous things, some of which can be very difficult to answer without proper testing. The first thing you need to ask yourself is, "Is the A/C working?" i.e. Is the actual compressor switching on and off. If you hear a clicking sound when you first initialize the A/C that means the clutch is engaging. If you hear a second click, that would be the clutch disengaging for what most likely would be a system shutdown. My first step would be to check the hoses for any signs of obvious leaks, and then check the pressure. Make sure that you check the pressure after the clutch has engaged, and that you have the Max A/C setting enable with full fan.

Depending on the mileage of your car and the usage, it may be something as simple as a recharge. The 09 Galant uses R-134a. If you find that your pressure is dropping continuously, you should take your vehicle in for a thorough A/C analysis, as these are not situations that the average home mechanic can handle easily without the proper equipment. The A/C unit will need to be tested for major leaks, and will most likely need to be discharged and recharged professionally.

Horn switch stuck on 2002 Mitsubishi Galant had to remove fuse How do you fix it?

This problem exists for many people. The problem is a defective design in the horn switch. The biggest monetary problem is that the horn switch is part of the airbag assembly. This thing is costly. I was just quoted over 600 bucks for OEM replacement. But the replacement is the same defective design.

There is no recommended fix for this problem. Have your dealer look up NHTSA ID 634582 Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) No 0254002 Horn Assy part 341000 dated March 01,2002. They are required to give you this information for free. If you go through the NHTSA for it, it will cost you to get the information.

Good luck. I am going to get a generic horn replacement switch and mount it the steering wheel using the pre-existing wiring for the defective switch. This will require the disassembly of the airbag assembly to get to the wiring. I do not recomend this for anyone that does not know what they are doing. I am a professional mechanic. Messing with the airbag can be dangerous and lead to either an airbag that does not work properly or it could explode in your face. Either way it would be a BAD thing.

Where is the egr valve on a 1998 Mitsubishi Galant?

How do you install a timing belt and set timing on a 2001 Daewoo Lonos?

Daewoo Leganza timing belt installation.

Dear owner, I work at an automotive repair shop in Gainesville, FL which is right next to a car rental who use Daewoo's for their rental cars, I've done close to 100 timing belts on various models of Daewoo cars.

Required tools:

13mm open end wrench10mm shallow and deep socket8mm socketlong flathead screwdriver17mm deep socketT50 torx socket1/4", 3/8ths and 1/2" ratchets and extensionsE10 inverted torx sockets6mm Allen wrench15mm open end wrench7mm socket12mm open end wrench14mm socket12mm socket8mm, 9mm and 10mm Allen head sockets19mm socketprybarneedle nose pliers

If you are doing this because your timing belt broke you will also need to buy a complete cylinder head, head gasket set, and both idler pullys. ALL DAEWOO MODELS WILL BREAK THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVES WHEN THE TIMING BELT BREAKS.

Start by removing the air cleaner assembly from the throttle body, remove the air filter and housing jack up the vehicle and remove the wheel, remove the plastic shielding in front of the accessory drive belt assembly, remove the accessory drive belt, place a jack with a block of wood on top underneath the engine oil pan remove the front engine mount, remove the crank shaft pully ( the 4 Allen head bolts only not the 17mm bolt in the center.) remove the metal plate behind the engine mount bracket on the engine, remove the plastic timing belt cover 3 clips on top 2 10mm bolts on bottom. Rotate the engine until the #1 cyl. is at Top Dead Center on the compression stroke or line up the crankshaft timing mark with the mark on the inner timing belt cover ( notch in cover with notch in pully) on the camshaft pullys -- ( intake cam line up the line on the pully with the line on the inner cover)( exhaust cam line up the arrow on the pully with the arrow on the inner cover) loosen the 13mm bolt in the belt tensioner and using the Allen wrench rotate the tab until there is slack in the belt. Remove the belt. At this time I would recommend you replace the water pump, both plastic idler pullys as they tend to overheat and lockup, and the belt tensioner. Make sure all your marks are lined up, you may need a helper to hold the Exhause Cam in place as it tends to move during belt installation. Put the timing belt underneath the crankshaft pully, install the belt leaving the intake cam for last and NO BELT SLACK on the right side between the crank and the exhaust cam. Once the belt is installed rotate the crankshaft over 2 revolutions and make sure is rotates freely, and your timing marks are aligned perfectly if not the engine will not run properly, tension the belt as needed. Installation is the same as removal.

To clarify, on the DOHC engine, the intake cam gear has a line on it, and the exhaust cam gear has an arrow on it. These should be lined up with the corresponsing line and arrow on the VALVE COVER, pointing straight up. I just went through this process over the weekend, and spent quite a bit of time looking for these marking as I had removed the valve cover. Once I found them, it was plain and simple.

In addition, be sure to not over tighten the belt when reinstalling. The tensioner has markings on it for "old" and "new". DO NOT adjust past "new", as the car will sound like a jet engine, and the belt will not last for very long.

One more item that you may as well replace while you are in there is the cam position sensor if you have not already, as there have been issues with them, and the timing housing has to be opened to get to it.

What are common problems with 2000 Mitsubishi Gallant LS dealing with fuel injection and fuel lines and valves?

first it depends on say engine size. 1.8l ,2.4l, or 3.0 v6. generally gallants fuel injection system are pretty sound. Not to say they can't give trouble. With that said here goes:

1. runs ruff,dirty injectors

2. won't crank,possibley fuel filter plugged

3. won't crank,possibly bad fuel pump

4. wont run, poors fuel out of tail pipe, fuel pressure regulator bad

5. valves:melted, too much carbon build up ,not running right gas for right engine,(ex. 2.4l has to run on prem. gas because it has a compression ratio of 9.5 to 1,so if you run it on reg. severe carbon build up and can cause major engine headaches.)

6. interference engines can jump time with worn belt allowing pistons to come in contact with valves damaging both severely.

7. fuel lines: i guess can leak ,if engine is hot could cause vehicle fire.

8. most problems with rough idle, stumbling,etc... caused by just waiting too long for a tune up. 80 % of engine problems can be solved by just doing a tune up.

This is know way all the problems but maybe will give you at least an idea.

The most critical thing these days is CHANGE THE TIMING BELT "before"

something happens!if looking at purchasing a used mis.galant get documentation from previos owner when belt was changed.

What is the overdrive for in a 1991 Mitsubishi gallant?

overdrive is a type of gear ratio. there are three kinds, gear reduction, direct drive, and overdrive. overdrive has a ratio that is smaller than one, example: .7:1 this means the differential will turn .7 times and the axle will turn once. it is meant for cruise, and fuel economy, not power

How do you change the brakes on a 2001 Nissan Sentra?

There is a detailed instructional video listed here: http://www.nissanhelp.com/diy/sentra/brakes_suspension_tires.htm

Front brake pads on a 2001 Nissan Maxima equipped with a 1.8 liter engine require a 14mm socket to remove the caliper. After the caliper is removed the brake pads slide out from the sides from the grooved guides. Install in reverse order after pushing the piston into the caliper using a "C" clamp. If the rotor needs to be removed the a 19mm socket is required to remove the caliper bracket so the rotor can be taken off the hub. It is simply placed over the lug studs and may require a little help via a hammer to remove the old one because of rust or dirt. hope this helps.

How do you repair a moonroof in a Mitsubishi 2002 Galant that won't open and just makes noise as you try to open it?

Working on the sunroof is very hard to keep from having leaks afterward. I suggest taking it to a trim shop that has experience in this. CAll for a couple of estimates

I had the same problem, its less expensive to just get a bit bigger sunroof installed to cover the hole that was already there, so you wont have leaks or any other problems. call for estimates

Where is the lights factory relay located 2001 Mitsubishi galant?

How do you replace the headlight bulb on a 1999 Galant?

With the hood popped & the negative line disconnected from the battery look behind the headlight and you'll see a wiring cluster going into a round rubber boot. There is a release button on the wiring cluster. Depress it and remove. You may have to wiggle it back and forth until it pulls out. It's plugged directly into the bulb. Remove the rubber boot. You'll need a short Phillips head screw driver. Look into the back of the headlight and you'll see a wire that's held in place with a screw on one side. This wire is a retention clip and holds the bulb securly in place. (kind of looks like a paper clip that's made into a pretzel) I would recommend NOT removing the screw completely, but just loosen it a couple of turns. You'll need to squeeze the clip until it pops out from underneath the head of the screw. Try not to torque this assembly too much as it is made of a hard plastic and can break off. And remember the placement of the clip as you'll need to put it back once the bulb is replaced. The bulb should come right out. (BTW: this is a H4 type bulb and should not be touched by bare fingertips. The oil from your fingers can pass itself to the bulb causing it to break when illuminated) Put the new bulb in and let it rest inside the bulb housing. (it's keyed to fit in only one way) Here's the hard part... You need to put the retention clip back and tighten the screw that holds it in place. If you've never done this it can be tricky. You'll know when it's back in place when the bulb has little to no play. Tighten the screw and be sure not to over torque it as it is screwed into plastic and will strip or break off. Replace the rubber boot. Be sure to make the boot tight. Clip on the wiring cluster until it's firm. You're done.

NOTE: this looks like it is the same design as my 2000 Galant. Check those instructions quickly to see it my tips would help. I do not disconnect the battery for this. If you are even mildly careful, there is no need. Nothing is exposed to short out. Just make sure the car and lights are OFF. If you disconnect the battery, you are going to be back here asking how to find out your radio reset code with the other 10,000 readers that made that mistake.

Your 2003 Mitsubishi Galant cranks but does not start?

pull the rubber air inlet hose from the air inlet, get starter fluid, have someone crank the engine, spray a short burst (about 2 secs.) into the airhorn. if the engine starts running with

eather, it should run with gasoline.

this could indicate no fuel pressre (bad fuel pump), clogged fuel filter, or bad gas (primarily water coming thru the system.

to check fuel pump operation: pull the fuel line from the throttle body (rubber line), insert into a "glass" container, turn the key on and off 3-5 times, waiting 10 sconds between cycles, then, check if there is gas in the container. a 2nd person helping you will facilitate the process. if no gas comes in on "keying" cycle, repeat by cranking the engine. while the engine is cranking, the ecm should recognize this and signal the pump to "pump" fuel. if no gas coms thru the line, you can 1) pull the fuel line on the bottom of the fuel filter and repeat the above process to check for fuel flow, either, eliminating the pump-rcognizing a "clogged" filter- or eliminating the filter and recognizing a bad pump.
