While it is physically possible for a trained mechanic to cause your odometer to stop running, doing so would be illegal in most jurisdictions. how can i replace the speed odometer sensor on a 96 Honda accord ex

The VSS, or Vehicle Speed Sensor, is located on the top of the transmission, approximately underneath the throttle body and intake piping. It is held in place by a single bolt, which is easily removed with a 10mm wrench. Once the retaining bolt has been removed, carefully pull the VSS out of the transmission, and do be careful not to knock a bunch of dirt and grease into your transmission.

With the old VSS out of the way, you are free to put the new one in its place, secure the retaining bolt, and reattach the speedometer cable.

Strictly speaking, the odometer of an automobile counts revolutions of the wheels. The practical application is in its use for measuring the distance the car has traveled. Our crack automotive engineers know how to derive distance from wheel revolutions, because they know the diameter of the tire, and they know how to use the diameter to calculate how far the wheel rolls with each revolution.

How do you repair the speedometer odometer on a 1989 New Yorker?

I am assuming that you have the analog style gauge cluster. What you would do is you would take the gauge cluster out of the dashboard area. Then, you would install a new gauge. If you cannot do this, I would check the internet and find a new Chrysler New Yorker gauge cluster. I believe that you could use either a digital cluster or an analog cluster, but I would use the same type that your car curently has. Good Luck! I hope that this helps.

Your odometer light had gone out on your 2000 buick century how do you fix it?

Get at the dashboard. Messy disassembly requires some patience, but you will eventually get to the burned-out bulb.

Addition:

It's more than likely NOT the bulb. The problem lies within the circuitboard itself. Contact me at ANCTechnologies at hotmail
