It is located just under the dash on the drivers side near the steering column.

The governor is in the ECU and is only bypassed by modifying the ECU code. There are 2 versions of the car, the standard version is governed to 108mph and the autobahn version is governed at 138 (iirc).

my first question is do you have a remote starter, if you do the info center will show default when you start with remote. push the reset button.this will clear the info center. there is nothing wrong.they just do this. ok greg..... This can also be caused by an 'old' key. On the ignition key is a small resister encapsulated in black plastic with a contact on either side.

Although there is the possibility that you have a problem with the Anti-Theft portion of your ignition system, the most likely candidate would be the key itself.

To my knowledge the best way to get a replacement key is to have a GM dealer cut you a new key using your VIN# ( I mention this as it will give you a 'original' key rather than a duplicate of your worn key like a Key Copy place will give you )

Depending on how 'greedy' your local GM Dealer is this should run around $20 or less

To reset the computer on a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora, you must press and hold the on/off button for a few seconds. This will switch the computer from English to Metric mode or which ever way you choose. also check to make sure the selenoid on the shift mechanism is working on mine it froze up and stopped working properly if that happens it will normally work when the interior is warm just make sure it is working or it wont let you shift.

well the 4.0 engine has 250 HP at 4400 rpm and the other one only has 215 HP at 4400 rpm i dont know 0 - 60 times though

I have had both models. Coincidentally both 2001's. The 4.0 is much faster. My current 4.0 was built for sale in Canada and has no governor. I've had it well past 140. The 4.0 gets to 60 bout a half second faster and has a lot more passing power.

3 of them. passenger side front of engine compart -behide headlight. Open drivers door, on side of steering counsel. Under rear seat.

Remove wheels
Re-Install 2 lug nuts to hold rotor in place
Remove caliper mounting bolts
Slide caliper off rotor
Use a "C" clamp to retract piston fully into caliper body
Replace pads inner and outer
replace caliper

Never heard of an "ignition sensor". Do you mean oxygen sensor, or maybe crank position sensor, or cam position sensor? There is an ignition "module" also... The oxygen sensor is on the exhaust manifold. The crank posiiton sensor is on the backside of the block. The cam position is on each head.

No. If this is an Aurora 3.5, then the sensors fail often - way too often. I have replaced it 4 times on mine, about every 4 months or 10,000 miles. I haved used only AC Delco parts - I suspect these are under designed and are just never going to last long.

i have a 3.5 auroura it is locatied under the oil pan you will find a round black round cover unscrew it you will find a paper filter inside. good luck greg. you will need a spacial cimd ofknob to turn

I have a 1995 Aurora too and it runs at 220. I am the second owner and it has always been like this. I think it is running too hot. All my other vehicles have always been under 200.

The spark plugs are located under what is called the "ignition module cassette". These cassettes are the silver assemblies on the top of each valve cover. Remove the cassette, and the spark plugs are under and down into the valve cover. I have a 2001 Aurora with the 4.0 V8 and one day, right after filling up my tank, the gas gauge went straight to "empty" and stayed there. I took it to GM and they said my "fuel sending unit" had gone out, along with whatever sensor it has on it. They replaced both in about 4 hours and 450$ and it fixed the problem. Still works fine today over 2 years later.

"it should be located on the passenger side" who ever put this is a dumb a** the aurora is a front wheel drive car idiot its right in front of you when you lift the hood 2, 4, 6, 8, says it right there. the first bank of cylinders is toward the fire wall. the engine is sideways guy.

you will have to get a shop manual for the electrical,section-hope you can read it they are a bit tricky-good luck. Go to your public library and they have a section with auto manuals there . Get the GM electrical manual for 1995 and the Aurora will be in it . It is the "G' body. there are diagrams for all the system there good luck.

Remove cover on firewall under the hood, then remove the cabin filter and you will see the blower.

If the transmission leak is visible from the outside try the RIGHT STUFF gasket maker. It can be purchased at NAPA auto parts. It starts to dry in one minute and is resistant to trans fluid. Do not put this material inside your transmission. Apply only to the outside of the trans.

my '94 Camry with 220,000 miles was leaking fluid. i used Lucas brand transmission sealer it fixed the problem .I'm at 268,000 miles now. good luck

I have had good luck using JB-Weld for cracked housings. Be shure to drain enough fluid from the trans so that the leaking stops. Clean the area around the crack with dishsoap and water, dry , scuff with sandpaper, and apply the JB-Weld.It takes about 12 hours to cure fully. Top up your trans and your'e ready to go. =o)

we have a 89 Mazda 323, auto tranny, that was "leaking from jus about everywhere it could" according to the shop. i put in some prestone brand Stop Leak for transmissions, and bingo, it hasn't leaked a drop for almost 500 miles now, and works perfectly.
