Yes, the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) can do that. Remove the TCC fuse and see if the problem stops. With the fuse removed the vehicle won't go into overdrive but it should not stall at a light.

The battery is located under the back seat. the back seat is removed by tuging firmly on the front side of the seat. the battery is side mounted so disconnect the negative battery terminal by unscrewing the bolt with an 8mm socket. other batterries may be an 9 or a 7mm.

The spark plug gap on a 96 Olds Aurora should be set at .050, and they should be torqued at 11 foot-pounds.

Auroras will default to second gear when they encounter a fault code. You can try to unplug the battery to reset the codes. most likely you have serious problems that the dealer will need to address. They did this by design. Butt heads.

Do not add tranny fluid, If you overfill the tranny you can damage the wire harness inside. ( don't ask me how I know this )

to begin jack up the front of the car take down the cover that is over the front of the engine you can then reach up twist the bulb & holder out.replace the bulb,reverse the procedure. thats it GREG.

on the drivers side there is a fuse panel on the dash. there you need to press the reset button once and then your change oil light will blink. then you want to press it again and the low tire pressure light will blink hold the reset button until it beeps and then let go and then press the reset button again and the light should disappear. This is straight from the owners manual, turn key to "on" position but not "run" position. Open glove box and on the left side of glove is the reset button,as well as the truck on/off button.Press and hold the oil reset button for 5-6 seconds. this will reset the change oil indicator for approx 3000 miles. On my 1997 LeSabre, there is a switch in the glove box that permits one to reset (turn-off) the change oil light by holding it down about 3 to 5 seconds.

My 1997 Aurora would stall on off ramps, or other inopportune times, when I removed my foot from the accelerator, with indications of erratic idle or unachievable idle setting. I tried numerous professionals, all of which wanted to "start" with the Mass Air-Flow (MAF) sensor replacement - at considerable estimates ranging between $200-$450 (NOT INCLUDING LABOR). After ordering and studying the service manuals I realized that the Idle Air Control (IAC) should be investigated (new cost ~$80). But first I removed it (~ three minutes) and found a build up of carbon on the rubber plugger-like seal. Spraying/cleaning this surface with electronic aresol MAF cleaner (cost $2.56 from any parts store) corrected the problem coupled with a new K&N air filter (to improve performance) and my car has been idling perfect ever since.

You have to take off the plastic shrouds in the inside of the wheel wells. There are about 4-5 plastic "push-in" screws (or snaps) that you have to pop out, then remove the shroud, and when you look into the wheel well you will be able to see the marker lights. Pop out the bulbs and replace but be careful because often times the bulbs have shattered and you'll cut yourself. Good luck.

it is in the right front.Loosen the clamp from the throttle body and there two more right by the box loosen all and remove tube from throttle body to the air box after that you can see the air filter box it has 3 push tabs on it push them in and pull the cap up swap filters and reverse your procedure.There is a sensor on the tube you might have to unhook very easily with a small flathead.The first time you change it you might have to use some elbow grease to get everything loose and be able to get the top of filter box off but dont fret its easy anyproblems just ask.

The 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora blower motor relay switch is located beneath the dashboard on the passenger side. The blower motor relay switch should be labeled as such.

You have to remove front headlight piece (which is held by two screws). Once removed you will be able to see and reach the bulb connection on the back of the side marker. Hope this helps.....

There is a pin that goes in the side of the steering wheel. Take off the sterring wheel and cover. You should see a hole and the pin goes in there

Hold the 2 outer buttons down until the light in the little house icon flashes rapidly. That will clear the memory. Then you hold down the button on your opener remote while pushing the button you wish to program. When the flashing light changes from slow to rapid, you should be all set. If your opener has "rolling code" technology, you will have to program that by pushing your opener button in the car while somebody pushes the "learn" button on the opener itself.

Have fun replacing it, that's all i have to say. To replace the starter, either the whole engine or the whole transmission must be removed, since the starter is enclosed where the engine meets the transmission, just above the rear seal.

I just read that there was a recall on the fuel lines and other parts sometime in 2004. Google "recalls on a 96 olds aurora" and it will list it.

The solenoid is located under the plastic engine cover. It is attached to the rear mounting bracket of the plastic engine cover. It is the connection that interferes with removing the rear coil pack.

It is just below the glove box.There is a panel with just two small screws that cover the area from bottom of glove box door and goes to back of fire wall.(if sitting in passanger seat your your feet would kick this pannel if you just lifted them. Anyway the panel is black,remove the two screws and drop panel down and just leave it inplace, The ECU comes out real easy (no mounting screws) there are three large plugs(color coded) blu,red,white. There are plastic locking tabs on each plug, just pinch the front and back the tabs and pull down on each. The only thing that holds the ECM in is two white plastic tabs one on each side of the Ecm. Pull toward you while pushing out on tabs and the ECM just pull down and out. But before removing ECM make sure to disconnect battery or pull the large 20 fuse for the ECM. It's under the BIG pretty plastic cover that dominates the engine compartment, it's held on by a couple screws.

The key for the "Pass-Key II" is simply a GM VATS key. The chip is actually just a resistor with one of 15 possible values (the resistance determines GM's numerical value). Any GM dealer, locksmith, or better-than-average hardware store should be able to determine which resistor value your key employs and replicate the cuts onto the appropriate blank. As far as the ignition lock itself (if that's what's going bad), I don't know how to replace it. However, if you want to go the cheap, and sometimes annoying route, you can just wait for the security system to just die. While it's dying, it'll occasionally trigger the Pass-Key system and kill your ignition system for a few minutes. But, once the system finally dies its final death, any key cut with the correct cuts will start your car (basically eliminating the need for the resistor in the key).

It is very easy to change the license plate light on an Oldsmobile Aurora. All you need to do is remove the license plate and look above where the plate was. There are bolts that are holding the light in. Unscrew the bolts and then replace the light.

Jack up the car or put the car up on ramps. Once you get the car up get under the vehicle and you will see the transmission ( you can't miss it. ) There will be about 10 -15 screws you will have to take off but lower one side of the transmission to allow the transmission fluid to drain out on one side so you son't get it anywhere.

Hold the "eng data" and "range" buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, until the oil life index reads 100.
