If it is a 6-cylinder engine the starter is at the "front" of the engine about 10 inches behind the bottom of the radiator. You have to jack up the front of the car and remove it from underneath.

it could be those but if your headlights go off when you turn the blower on it is the ignition switch i had to replace it in mine very fun :(

Probably the resistor. I had same problem. to replace resister it's under glove box. Pull down carpet under glove box. look toward the front of the car. it's connected to the blower motor wires. held on by one screw.

May just be a plug located at the bottom or rear of radiator

I just replced my girlfriends two weeks ago. The blower resistor is located behind the glove box in front of the the firewall. What you want to do first is unplug the blower because it will give you more room to access the resistor. And that will be held in place by three screws, so remove that and you will have a clear view. The resistor is help in place by two plastic rivots.

And those can be romoved with a flat head screwdriver or needle nose pliars.

This is only "help". I had to have this done by AAA 3 years ago. First disconnect the battery. Then, you have to remove all that platic covering under the dash at that side, remove all the plastic covering the steering column, and there is the "switch", usually two nuts holding it, attached to the column, a plug with all the wires pertaining to "on-off", and a connecting rod to the ignition key up by the steering wheel. Be sure to disconnect the battery to avoid 60amps to your wrench. I hope you weren't asking how to replace the ignition key cylinder. That is simple, but another task. Use a drift pin or nail to push the release pin (inside a 1/8' dia. hole beside the key), release and remove the old cylinder. Usually the key will have to be in the cylinder to remove it. Reverse to install the new key/cylinder. Position is critical in inserting the new cylinder. It must be exactly as the old one. And obviously, the old key will not work, unless you take the new cylinder to a locksmith to be rekeyed to your old key.

There is much more to this than can be described here. I recommend that you buy a copy of Haynes repair manual #38010 since it has a pretty good description of the process and some helpful pictures.

3.1 engine leaks at the intake gasket

Problem turned out to be the low beam relay (15016745) in the fuse box under the hood. After I found the part number on the internet, I did a Google search and turned up several instances of my problem described perfectly. Didn't want to wait until morning for a GM dealer, so I got a Duralast replacement part at Auto Zone (20301) for $40.

Hey Dan==I don't know what kind of solonoid you are talking about but there are a bunch inside the trans. GoodluckJoe No "solenoid" but there is a modulator on the front (radiator side) of the transaxle below the exhaust crossover pipe. It is connected to the vacuum lines and helps smooth shifting. Is that what you meant?

The "Low Coolant Sensor" on a 1997 Pontiac Montana is located appro 6" below the radiator cap which is on the left as your facing the engine. The sensor measures the fluid level in the radiator itself and is prone to giving false alarms when it gets dirty.

You have a problem with the ABS system. Get it repaired and the tech will reset the light at this time.

The washer pump is located on the bottom of the washer reservoir on the pasenger side front fender in front of the front wheel. You will need to remove the battery and reach down under the reservoir. Turn the pump 1/4 turn and pull down. A hose will be attached and an electrical conector. Forgot to mention that all your fluid in the container will now be on the ground unless you drained it first.

Too little oil makes lifters noisy. Without enough oil the lifters can't pressurize enough to close the gaps in the valve train. Driving too long with the condition can make it permanent even after adding more oil.

The old style "slim jim" doesn't work on the newer vehicles.

The 2002 model is very similar to the 1998 I had. Turn the ignition to "run" and not "start". Depress the gas pedal to the floor 5 times in 5 seconds or less. If successful the oil light will blink and go out. If not, turn the key off and try again. I needed a few tries to get it right.

You unscrew the screws

1. Warped brake discs. Replace them if the shaking only occurs under braking.
2. Bad wheel bearing. This causes the front wheels to wobble, especially when braking.
3. Bad tie rod ends. If you have over 100,000 miles the tie rods may begin to develop "play" in them, meaning the fit is sloppy.
4. Unbalanced tires. Rotate them front to back. If the problem goes away, then you know the balance is off.
5. Improperly mounted tires. If a tire was recently installed, loosen the lug nuts and tighten them in a star pattern, not a circle. The wheel can wobble if not done correctly.

The Starter solenoid is located on the starter itself.
