How do you pronounce jouridine?
Interesting question.... wondering what it's doing here. That being said, my 6 year old's last name is Jouridine and we pronounce it JUR-DEEN ... u being a short U... So as in the french pronounciation of Jour (as in day). Now is THAT the correct way to pronounce it?? Who the heck knows. The owner of the name (my son's estranged father - aka sperm donor) has abandoned the kid so we can't ask him. In a moment of just had a baby glow, (and a mother who insisted I give the kid his father's last name), I signed my name on the paper to give him that last name. Regret doing that but c'est la vie. We make the best out of it and it DOES go well with his second name which I picked and we use, instead of the father's first name... which we've never used. So I said all that to say... that's how and why WE pronounce it the way we do... not knowing if that's right or wrong. Sounds good though. LOL

Can someone with a Michigan learner's permit drive in Quebec Canada or Ontario Canada?
Yes, you can drive in both provinces if you have a valid American drivers license. However, if you plan on moving to Canada each province has their own laws concerning how long you can keep your license until you have to get a new one from the province.
Here's an example from Quebec:
Link: http://www.saaq.gouv.qc.ca/en/driver_licence/exchange/residents_usa.php
New residents who hold a valid driver's licence issued by their jurisdiction of origin may drive the corresponding class of vehicle their licence authorizes: a passenger car, a motorcycle, or a moped for up to ninety days after settling in Québec. Past that, new residents must obtain a license from the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec.

If you do not have any prior conviction, the prosecutor can decide to dejudicialize the case (you would not be prosecuted).
If you are charged anyway, and found guilty, then your lawyer might ask the judge to grant you an absolute or a conditional discharge. If the judge accept, you criminal record will be kept separate from others so you dont have any problem of employment or at the border.
If you are not granted a discharge, then you are likely to be fined.

How do people in Quebec celebrate Christmas?
Due to the sheer size of Canada, there are many different traditions spread throughout the country, including in Quebec.
Christmas in Canada is a national holiday. It traditionally recognizes the birth of Christ. They send Christmas cards and decorate Christmas trees. The trees are pines or firs.
Some people pull taffy in honor of St. Catherine, and it is believed to give single women a chance to meet single men over the holidays.
Children in Quebec celebrate the tradition of Santa Claus. Cookie baking parties are common, both for cookie exchange and to leave a treat out for Santa.
A traditional Christmas is ragoût aux pattes de cochons, a stew made form pork hocks. They also bake a cake with a bean in the middle. Whoever finds the bean is the king or queen for the day.
What animals live in quebec during the winter?
There are a few birds that I know of that live in Quebec during the winter. One is the Boreal Chickadee (Poecile Hundsonica). Another is the Gray Jay (Perisoreus Canadensis). This particular jay lives throughout all of Canada except the very very far north. It stashes food during the summer when food is plentiful. It has an amazing memory and can remember exactly where the food has been stashed. The Iceland Gull (Larus Glaucoides) inhabits the St. Lawrence River the entire year. The Ruffed Grouse (Bonasa Umbellus) inhabits Quebec except for the very northern portion the entire year. Those are a few of the birds that I know of that do. Besides those the Raindeer (Rangifer tarandus) also known as the Caribou is a permenant inhabitant. The Gray Wolf (Canis lupus) is also a permenant resident although not common. There is a small number of Musk Ox (Ovibos Moschatu) that reside in Quebec the entire year. Besides those are Snow Shoe Rabbits, Fox, and of course Mosquitos although the Mosquitos are dormant during the winter but nevertheless alive.

Since Leominster, Fitchburg and Lunenburg are so close together, city officials from each town got together to discuss combining the three as one city. Naming the town was an altogether different matter. The most popular choice was; "Lemyloonyburg". Now if that isn't a direct result of all the chemical & plastic factories dumping their waste into the cities drinking water then I don't know what is. Timeline actually profiled this subject, "Leominster, MA" factories dispose their waste into towns drinking waters and what have the consequences been since then on the people who live there?" One serious concern that was approached was did this disposal of toxic waste into the town's drinking water have anything to do with the high number of suicides in Leominster. For a small town one does have to wonder WTF is causing young people to do this. This question has never been concluded. You can also check out this site which I've done all the research for. This particular topic is about "PharmaWater" which is basically Pharmaceutical Giants doing the same thing today with their toxic waste that Leominster had been doing 35 years ago. Check it out;
