Oil weight for 1994 460 ford engine in a motorhome chassis?
11 quarts <NEVER .....
I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF 11 QUARTS IN ANY OIL PAN OF A 460 ENGINE,
Whoever gave that above answer is nuts....PERIOD
Usually speaking its around 6 quarts but start with 5 and check before adding the next one. Check with an auto store with the year and model etc or Ford Garage.
If you were to overfill the oil pan you could blow out the rear main oil seal which is a very expensive repair. careful who you listen too out here.
A. I own a 83 RV that has a 454 Chevy large block, and I was having the same trouble trying to find out the qt amount or even just the liter size, so I finally went to a near by auto parts store and asked to talk to the manager and he pulled it up on screen, and told me it was anywhere from 61/2 to 7 quatrz because of the liters amount which was a 7.4 liter v-8. and he was right it was closer to 7 qts. And also everyone kept tallking about an oil cooler which I had no clue if I had one, but the oil cooler is on the side of your radiator at least that's where mine is be sure to put in at least 5 qts let the motor run for about 10 second let the cooler fill if you have one and just keep adding as needed. so just make sure when you go to any auto parts dealer you ask for the manager or someone who is very competent.
hope this helps
What is Purpose of ignition coil in gasoline engine?
The purpose of the ignition coil is to take the low 12 volt current from the cars battery/altenator and convert it to 20,000 volts (or more) so that the spark plugs will ignite the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber of the engine.
Unless it is 10 years old you will need to put exact odometer reading. And be sure to make copies of all SIGNED paperwork.
Assuming the engine is bolted securely, then I would think it is indicative of a problem with the idle being too high and affecting the centrical clutch or just the clutch.
How do you find overheating on a 1988 motorhome 460 engine?
There are several things to check for overheating. check all belts,,hoses,,and the recovery tank. If the recovery tank is not in good condition,it will not recover antifreeze when engine warms up and transfer it back to the radiator. Next, and the most common problem, is a radiator that is partially blocked internally. Try a good commercial radiator flush,,follow the directions exactly for best results. If it still overheats, have the radiator serviced by a good radiator shop. Make sure you are using a good quality antifreeze/water mix. DO NOT use just water. Antifreeze raises the boiling point of the cooling system,,it is supposed to do that. Remember,,HEAT is the main killer of engines and transmissions. It is worth the money spent on keeping the engine from overheating.

It sounds as if you have a large motorhome. I would STRONGLY recommend you keep the bud wheels. The wheel studs from a medium duty hub will not handle the weight and stress of turning.

Most states have a maximum height limit of 13 feet 6 inches. Some allow 13 feet 9 inches. While most overpasses, bridges and tunnels are built to allow the maximum height there are some that have lower height restrictions. You are usually safe on major US and Canadian highways. If you are concerned about low-clearance roadways you can purchase a trucker's atlas which provide lots of useful information including maximum heights on specific roads.
