Can you tow a hybrid car behind a motor home?

Depending on the relative size of your hybrid and your motor home, yes: there is nothing different about a hybrid v. ordinary car that stops it being towed with its front wheels off the ground.

Of course there might be some issue if the car in question is a full-time 4-wheel-drive car; but that applies at least equally to non-hybrids. (I've never seen such a car as a hybrid, but perhaps they exist.)

Where do you check the brake fluid on a 1985 southwind motorhome?

The 1985 Southwind motor home brake fluid is checked by sliding the master cylinder top retaining clips off the lid to expose the 2 brake fluid holding chambers, the master cylinder is located in the drivers side front hood area high but directly in front of where the brake pedal is located.

Good idea to remove as much of the old as you can before filling it up, brake fluid goes bad as it absorbs moisture out of the atmosphere thus reducing it's boiling point which could cause early brake failure under harsh conditions as well as causes rust inside the system. Roger

Can you tow a Mitsubishi montero behind a motorhome?

Yes, only if it has a manual transmission. If you tow an automatic for more than 40 miles, or over 45MPH, you will ruin the transmission.

this is not necessarily correct. depends on year of montero. mine is a 1989 dodge raider (re-badged montero sold by dodge), v-6, 4wd AUTO. it flat tows behind either of our motorhomes by putting the transfer case shifter in the 'false' neutral that exists (without being labeled on the floor plate). i built a simple hinged bracket going across the top of the plate, which catches the shifter in neutral for towing. took about an hour to do it. this fully disengages the tranny for flat towing. several folks i know use this method, saving me from frying mine while attempting it the first time. THIS WORKS ON 1ST GEN MONTEROS! don't know about anything other than 1987-1989 models.

I would like to contact someone who has a Dodge Raider V6, automatic, 4wd and has used this technique for towing. I have one and would like to do this but need a bit more information. Thank You!

Would a CDI box from a 1978 Yamaha Exciter 440 fit in a 1981 Yamaha Exciter 440?

From what I have read in the shop manuals for the 1979 and 1980 Exciters, there was a change between those 2 years where the CDI was not interchangeable due to the timing. So, I'm not sure how well it would run if you used one from a 1978 Exciter in a 1981 Exciter, or if you would eventually burn down the motor. However, if you have installed one, and it is working, then that's great.

Can you tow a 1997 Chevy z71 4wd behind a motor home without dropping driveshafts?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!

yes... If you place the transfer case in neutral. The problem with towing automatic transmission vehicles, is that the transmission is not operating, therefore the pump is not pumping fluid throughout the tranny. This results in melted seals & seized brass bushings, because the output shaft is turning, but no oil is present. However, the transfer case is located after the tranny. Placing the transfer case in neutral will disengage the tranny from the drivetrain, and the truck will free-roll. On 2 wheel drive vehicles, you would have to remove the driveshaft & plug the tail of the tranny with a plastic shipping plug (prevents fliud leakage)

The above answer is correct, but if you simply unbolt the driveshaft to the rear wheels, wrap the universal joint with duct tape and secure the drive shaft to the frame or exhaust with sturdy wire, you can tow it a jillion miles without harm. This saves having to pull the drive shaft from the tranny or obtaining a shipping plug as he suggests.

If it's a serpentine belt, all you have to do is put a socket on the tensioner pulley, rotate it counterclockwise, and that should give you the slack you need to remove the belt. You do the same thing installing the new belt, and refer to the belt diagram when routing the belt.
