If the auto loan and car are in your name you can simply call your local police department and basically say she has stolen the car. You are the owner and you want it back!
How long do you have to get car after it is repoe?
Its in the contract.
Under most state laws, ordinarily, the lender must give you notice of your right to reinstate the contract after repossession, even if the lender thinks you have given up the right. If the lender doesn't give you this notice, you may have the right to get the property back for nothing-but you will have to resume making payments on your loan. If you have been given notice and want to try to reinstate the contract, contact the lender as soon as possible to work out an agreement.
If you don't reinstate the contract within the time permitted by the agreement, the lender will send you a formal notice of its intent to sell the property.
trying checking your o2 sensors if not then one of your wiring might be sticking out from the core of the wire if you dont know then head to your local dealer ship for a inspection
NO, they still have an interest in the vehicle (the part you DIDNT pay). If it was sooo simple, dont you think everyone would rush to the car store, buy a new car and declare B/K?? No, because no lender would loan any money then.
I'm not sure roosta understood the question... I have seen several cases where the debtor surrendered a vehicle in a Chapter 7 and the creditor simply won't come and get the car. And while I don't know what works in other States, in Indiana I tell my clients in that situation to file a small claims lawsuit against the lienholder, not requesting money, but requesting an Order from the court voiding the lien (since the lienholder apparently abandoned the vehicle) and ordering the BMV to issue a new, clean title to the debtor. If the lienholder shows up to the small claims proceeding, I tell my clients to ask the court to order the lienholder to take their car, and if they don't show up, the courts generally grant the debtor's request and Order the BMV to issue a new, clean title to the debtor. This may or may not work in other States besides Indiana, I don't know. Ask a local attorney. Please note that nothing in this posting or in any other posting constitutes legal advice; this is simply my understanding of the facts, which I do not warrant, and I am not suggesting any course of action or inaction to any person.
buy a new car seat and dont let him eat candy in it
Don't see why you should. Until you get the title, it's not your car. How would the state even know that you owe taxes if you haven't taken the title to the courthouse to register the car?
The deal said you would pay X $ down but you havent soo, the dealer can either HOLD the car till you do OR repo it. You have NOT held up your end of the deal, right?? Do you expect the lender to just let you ride??? Be Real
Can just anyone come and repossess your vehicle or does it have to be a professional repo man?
In MOST states, the answer is YES. A few states require a liscense.
Contact you State Attorney General and find out if your state has a Lemon Law. Keep accurate and detailed records of all repairs. The number of times it was in for repair, days out of service, etc. Allow the dealer a resonable amount of time to repair the vehicle. Keep taking it back until it is fixed or they say they can't fix it.
Your keys stolen how do you rekey the car Or what should you do?
Contact your dealer with the VIN # and proof of ownership off your car. He will be able to make or order new keys for you.
I somewhat disagree. You stated they were stolen; not lost. This means someone has your keys and knows your car. Call a locksmith and have them rekey each lock. You may want to change the ignition lock too so you won't have to use two separate keys to operate your car. I do not know the cost, but the locksmith will tell you on the phone. I am in the same situation and the dealer told me it was cheaper for an independent locksmith to do this for you. If you had a remote stolen also, then go to a dealership that sells your model and they will give or order you a new one and will change the frequency for free. The cost of a new remote is about $100.
Alternatively, Honda and probably many manufacturers offer a complete rekey kit which contains a new ignition cylinder, door lock cylinders and trunk or rear gate cylinder with two matching keys as a kit. It may be the best route to go cost wise as each individual door lock can cost more than the new individual replacements to get rekeyed. They make these kits for just such an occasion as losing your own key or having it stolen. Contact your dealer and ask. You can save money on replacing the pieces yourself, if you are so inclined, but read up on that before you proceed to prevent damage from scratching paint, etc., and never use screw drivers on or near the outside of the door locks, as everything disassembles from inside. There are fine articles about replacing cylinders online.
Go to your state vehicle licensing department and pick up a lost title form. Fill out the information and have the previous owner sign it. If they refuse, sue to get your money back. You'll need to take them to small claims court but usually being served notice to appear will be sufficient to get them to sign the document. Along with the signed lost title form (most let you sign to transfer title as well) you may need a bill of sale as well. Take anything you have back to the vehicle licensing department and you'll get a new title.
Does the VIN tell the color of the car?
No, it does not. VIN's contain information as to the Make, Model, Year, number of doors, country assembled, and plant assembled. It can also contain the upgrade package (ie - Chevrolet Tahoe LT vs LS), transmission system (4x4 or 4x2), and engine size. However, the color is not included. The color code can be located near many VIN labels, especially inside door jambs, as a separate line item. Note - VIN standards were not adopted and enforced until 1981, so any vehicles made prior to 1981 do not have a "readable" VIN that can be decoded for this information.

How do you contract to sell a car for which you are being paid for over time?
Basically, you are financing the vehicle, right? Put a lien on it. All you have to do is fill out a bill of sale and there will be a place for you to list a lienholder. Fill in your information there. There will also be a place for you to put lienholder information on the title, so make sure you fill that part in also. When the buyer takes that to the highway dept to register it, the hwy dept will keep that and give them a registration. After about 2-3 weeks, you should receive the title in the mail with you listed as the lienholder. After you are paid in full by the buyer, then you will sign off as lienholder and give them the title.

What is the average cost to repossess a car?
There is no set fee for a repo. I charged 375.00 per car if it was a good address. 150.00 and up if i had to locate the car. and 1.00 per mile both ways. so a repo could cost 375.00 to 1500.00 easy.
This varies by state, company, and voluntary repo vs involuntary repo.
I have paid up to 250.00 to have a car taken when the person didn't want to give it up, plus other fees to try to find them, but I have paid 75.00 to have a guy knock on the door and tell the person they were there to repo the car and the person gave it up. Basically just a tow bill.
One repossession company in San Diego charges as follows. This is for repo and for impound. $75 for hookup $75 for leaving property $35 per day for storage including day picked up $75 extra if picked up on weekend.
so, if your car is impounded on a Friday afternoon, and you pick it up Saturday morning, you are charged: $75 for hookup $75 for leaving property $70 for storage including day picked up $75 pickup on weekend $295 total. and they had the car less than 24 hours.

They came 3 o'clock inthe morning to repo and I gave them a key.
They did not ask me to clean up my personal belongings. Since there were no important belongings in the car, we did not think about removing those.
Where can you find NYS law on car repossession and recovery of personal property inside the vehicle?
Briefly, if they(the bank via repo guy) have the car its theirs until you bring your account current and they give it back but they are not entitled to your personal property or the plates. The repo guy will try and charge you bogus storage fees(for your p.p.) and try to get you to sign a wavier which absolves them and the bank of any and everything to do with the repo. This includes a statement that all of your p.p. are there so if stuff is missing(repo guys steal )or your car is damaged it makes it harder to sue. They will want you to sign it before you see your car or p.p. Do not sign !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another question you need to ask is do you want the car back? If you do want the car back you have little choice but to pay the extortion because each day that goes by is another $100.00 to store the car. If you do need to sue remember sue the lender not the repo guy.
A vehicle is a secured debt, therefore bankruptcy action would not reverse the repossession. Bankruptcy only places a temporary halt to repossession or foreclosure of secured property. The only option available to the borrower to recover a repossessed vehicle is to reaffirm the lending agreement or make some other type of settlement with the lender.
It is the device which houses the wheels bearings, and holds the wheels studs. On a car with drum brakes, it also has the drum attached.
