Why will the car not stop when you hit the brakes?
Just hitting the brakes will not stop the car if the brakes are faulty. Pressing the brake pedal starts a process by which brake fluid disperses the force of your foot by increasing the surface area of the fluid being pushed. This increase in force is then transferred to "soft" pads that press against the moving wheels of the car. This friction is what stops the car. However, if the brake pads do not make contact with the wheels, the brake lines carrying he brake fluid are severed, the brake fluid is low or empty, or the connection between the brake pedal and the whole system is faulty, then the brakes will fail.

I own a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL (non turbo). It's a great car. It takes forever for a part to break, but remember that when it does it'll cost you quite a bit to fix (... well, just slightly higher then other cars.) And remember that it only takes Premium fuel

Strip??? as in no motor or tranny?? no wheels? Well, there are laws against doing so. Some states its a felony. BUT, the bottom line is MONEY. You cant sell the parts for what it cost you when the lender sues you for the deficiency balance. Good Luck you could be in serious legal trouble if you do that. however...were you to do that the individual parts would probably wind up getting you more money in the long run (if you dont get caught). the individual parts are worth more than the whole thing...just ask your local chop shop.

R12 was banned in 1995. Any vehicle from 1994 back will have R12. Any vehicle from 1996 to today will have R134, R134a, etc. A 1995 may have R12 or R134. Any car that has been retrofitted, even if it is older then 1994 may not have R12. If it was retrofitted it should have a label stating this.

more than likeley this is not a instrument cluster problem, it is probably a cold solder in the engine control module. this is a common thing in this year car(i have a 97 sebring convertible myself). the instrument cluster removal is as follows.... remove the radio trim bezel. remove all screws that attach the dash bezel pull off your cabin fusebox cover. unscrew the screw holding the dash cluster on. lift from the bottom and turn it upwards. there are four clips that hold down the backside but they should just pull out. your dash cluster should be fully exposed. unscrew the mounting screws and turn the back upward. unhook the connectors by pushing the tabs and then pulling outwards. installation.. as always is reverse of removal. when you put the dash back on you have to set it on the wheel and turn the front upwards to clear the steering wheel.
OBD2 diagnostics were federally mandated for all cars made/assembled/imported into the USA in 1996. A quick check of the emissions label on top of the radiator should tell you, as well as the shape of the diagnostic port. yes, any OBD2 tool will work.

Operation temp of a converter can be in the hundreds of degrees. If it is glowing red under the vehicle there is a problem, if just normal color (rusty etc.) then it's o/k. If the heat shielding is intact/not intact (on older vehicles it corrodes & falls off) you may want to keep to the roadways in a park or while camping and keep out of the long grassy fields. Unless of course you don't like your car and want higher insurance rates....
You can try, but your vehicle will be found, and it really isn't worth the trouble. Think about this, your miles away from home at the club and find out that your car got repo'ed, do you really want to walk or take the bus home? Let it go, or pay the car

The title should be at the auction location. They probably have it in a file somewhere and forgot to give it to you. If they don't have it, they should have the information on the previous owner so they can get it, unless it was specified at the auction that it was being sold for parts only, without a title.
