What would cause your 1996 Saturn sl2 door locks to cycle open and close?
This is something that needs to be diagnosed but It is most likely a bad ground to to keyless entry control module, a faulty instrument fuse panel or a pinched wire in one of the front doors. Difficult to give an answer as could be a number of things @@@ I had the same issue on my 97 SC2 while I was at the range in Florida. Turns out, all the dealership in Saint Pete did was change the battery, problem solved. But as the last person mentioned, it could be a number of different things@@@

What Saturn engine will fit into a 2001 L300?
The V6 Saturn engine used in 2001 was common among many vehicles in the GM line; including a few Cadillac models and the Opal
Will a 2003 Saturn sl transmission fit a 2000 Saturn sl1?
No, the 2003 Saturn is Either an L series or At Saturn Ion, you need a 96 thru 2002 auto trans from an S series, 2002 is the last year of the S series, if you have a Single overhead cam (SOHC) engine you will need to get on from a single, if you have a Twin cam (DOHC) you will need a trans from a duel over head cam engine.
The main reason you cant use a single on a double and vise versa in that the cars with singles have 14 inch tires and the DOHC cars have 15 inch wheels, this will not have the proper shift points in the trans.
What type of oxygen sensor is on a 1998 Saturn SL1 and where is it?
There are 2 O2 sensors on the s-series. One on the exhaust manifold and one after the catalytic converter.
What would make the tailpipe sooty on a 95 Saturn SW1?
Many different reasons mainly related to the engine burning excessive fuel. Here are a few items that may cause this to happen: o2 sensor, air filter, injector(s), fuel pressure, throttle position sensor, map sensor and others.
Where is the oil filter located on a 1995 Saturn SL2?
From underneath, it is on the backside of engine, just above the passenger side transaxle shaft on the engine block. There should be a drip rail to catch the oil as it runs out when you loosen the filter off but it still runs everywhere. Make sure you wipe excess oil from transaxle boot when finished, engine oil eats the rubber boot and will create premature failure of it. Good luck!
That is the way it is designed, assuming it is like the 96, 99, and 2002 antilock/traction control systems on the SC2's that I have owned. The turn off switch is a push button that toggles the traction control between on and off, but does not lock in the on position.
Where is the oil filter located on a 1992 Saturn SL2?
It is located on the back passenger's side of the engine block towards the bottom.
Isolate the problem. Disconnect as much of the circuit as you can, possibly even unplugging the wiring harnes in the back of the vehicle if necessary. After everything is unplugged and/or disconnected, start putting things back into circuit, one at a time and see what causes the fuse to blow. Once you've isolated the problem to one bulb or one half of the trunk wiring, keep investigating that little part. If you look at a problem like that from the overall picture, it's almost impossible to figure out, but take it apart so that you're only working on a little bit at a time. Then you'll find it. Good luck.
Why does the security light keep coming on in my Saturn?
The Passlock security system is the problem. Should be recalled. The resistor workaround at the key isn't always the only problem. I tried it on my 99 Suburban and it didn't do any better with the resister bypass. You need to eliminate the entire security system. Buy the pro module for $179 plus shipping and save yourself the hassle of dealing with it ever again. Or you could go to the dealer and have them replace the entire system for over $1000. They will have to replace the key/tumbler/hall effect switch/wiring and EVO-Passlock module to get it right. Check out my profile page for a list of vehicles affected.
Previous answer:
Same problem on my 2002, took to the dealer and they said the car thinks it's being stolen because the ignition is going out. Ignition needs to be replaced at $385.00 plus tx. I only have 35,000 miles on this car, very rarely drive it. I am still checking to see if this is a known problem/recall from Saturn
Where can you find a wiring diagram for a Shoprider Scootie Mobility Scooter?
My son, who knows nothing about electric scooters, replaced batteries in my 'Scootie' shoprider TE-787NA electric scooter. Since then when I press the forward lever I go in reverse and when I press the reverse lever I go forward. When fully charged the indicator shows a row of RED lights. Can you help.
Where is the diagnostic port located on the 1995 Saturn sl2?

Why does the Saturn 1.9 dohc use oil?
People not changing there oil leading to gummed up oil control rings on the pistons.
Add on:
1.
There are a couple of GM TSB available for saturns to control oil consumption, one does indicate stuck rings especially 90 era cars I have two, the TSB says pull plugs and use GM part # such and such and soak pistons then crank over WITHOUT plugs in to rid cleaner from cylinders to unstick rings.
2. Saturn and GM have issued a TSB stating that store bought PCV from places like AZ, Oriely, NAPA, Advanced etc etc, DO NOT have the required spring tension in them causing excess consumption of oil, they are only a $ or two extra at Saturn and IT DOES WORK.
93 Saturn eating 3 quarts of oil convential castrol 10w30 between oil changes with AZ PCV, 1/2 quart after changing to a Saturn PCV, oil changed every 3000 miles car has 200000+ miles on it 1.9 DOHC
Emissions note:
90's era Saturns tend to fail emissions testing at least in TN, easy fix, run it through look at the fail slip, if your just a few parts over say 70 to 200 ppm, you can pull the PVC out of the valve cover LEAVE IT CONNECTED TO INTAKE with hose, just pull it out of the valve cover and twist it around so it can get to fresh air, cuts your emissions almost in half...........LOL, mechanic buddy turned me onto that after replacing CAT,TPS,O2,MAP etc.........2 minute fix passed emissions, left building pulled over down road and put PCV back in.
How do you replace shift cable adapter in 1994 Saturn sl?
Shifter cables are held in by clips at the tranny. Remove the U clips and unhook them from the tranny. Inside the cabin, remove the center console. Using a screw driver remove the bushings from the shifter. A little force may be needed for this. Then remove the 2 bolts holding a metal plate around the cables. With a long screw driver try to push the rubber insert in the fire wall towards the engine bay from inside the car. Once removed from the firewall, pass once cable through at a time. Again a little force is needed, as the hole is very tight.
Why does your 92 Saturn sl2 keep overheating and spewing antifreeze?
Overheating can be a number of things. Bad water pump, coolant low, fan inop, bad thermostat, leaking coolant, cooling system clogged, or a blown heads gasket. Check for coolant around the water pump signaling a bad water pump. if the temperature rises and no fan comes on, that's your problem. blown head gasket- look for coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant. it will look like a milkshake. uncap the radiator while its COLD. start the car, look to see if it bubbles. all suggest a blown head gasket.
It isn't going to permanently damage it as long as you replace it with the proper coolant. NAPA makes an all types and models coolant that is compatible with Dex-Cool. Dex-cool just has additional lubricants in it that are designed for that system. If you use regular coolant the seals in the cooling system can break down much faster and cause leaks.
Depends on the model of the car. However most did come with a security system
Thermal relay is bad.
