What is the difference between a peace sign with straight lines and one with wide lines towards the ends opposite the center?

Basically it is just a matter of design style....The first way the peace sign was formed was just three lines meant to be a protest to nuclear arms....After politicians claimed it was the footprint of the American 'Chicken" the circle was added... Still a lackluster design a, lot of artists began re-doing it in a custom or stylistic form resulting in what you have seen....It's simply a matter of what is most eyepleasing to you. Hope this helps. OOOps, forgot to sign in....Wanna get credit for this one...lol

How hot do you get metal for human branding?

Technically, you don't have to get it hot at all depending on the type of branding being done. However, a good gauge to tell when it's hot enough is to wait until the tool is, or verging on white hot. At that point you know that the tool will not be insufficiently hot to produce a deep enough brand that will stick and keloid like most people would expect. However, when branding it is important to remember that additional sessions will probably be required to give you the exact scarring that you're looking for.

What does a Rock of Ages tattoo symbolize?

After first veiwing this tattoo in Tattoo Charlies on the Baltimore Block some 40 years ago I have made a great effort to look back at this cool but spooky tattoo. While sailing in the US Mechant Marines I met a Bosun who had this picture tattooed on his entire back. He had it done in Japan and drank 2 fifths of scotch while a girl applied the ink. Back to the meaning: 1) A soul lost in the sea of life(sin) with no other hope left except to cling to the Rock of Ages (the Cross of Christ) as the only comfort in a life that has been swallowed up. This is the meaning that most believe. 2) A wife morns at the gravestone of her husband who died at sea and the only remembrance is the large tomb stone or Rock that pushes out of the raging sea. Most pictures show the sinking ship in the backround. Anyway you look at it this is a heavy picture that has held my thoughts for almost half a centery. If you really want to get into it buy a copy of Don Ed Hardy's book "Rock of Ages". He really gets into it with both history and pictures. The book is coastly but well worth it.
