Was the air sucking through a loose hose? On my 2000 two-door I simply out the hose back on and move the hose clamp to a point where it would grip better. My alternative repair is to replace the hose clamp if the hose continues to slip off even after adjusting the stock hose clamp. Correction on the last answer. The air would not be sucked through the loose hose - it's actually sucked through the hose connector on the engine component (fuel injector system) after the hose slips off. The advice on the hose clamp is still good advice if this is the type of problem you are having - a loose hose that normally connects to the injector system.

Look at the top of the trunk space where the rear speaker wires are. There is probably a loose or damaged wire causing a short.

Check the fuse first, its in the fuse box under the steering wheel, near driver's left knee. The fuse of interest is the one labeled "ACC".

I checked the Gates website ( they make timing belts etc. ) and they don't list a

timing belt for a 2005 Toyota Echo so it must be a timing chain . I did a Google search

and the Toyota website shows the 2000 to 2005 Echo as having a timing CHAIN

Just look at it. Uncrew the one bracket that holds it in place, and unscrew the two wires attached to it, pull the old one out and plop the new one in. Simple.

Look to the right of the radiator cap, which is at the top of the radiator. You can't miss it. It has a "low" and a "full" line on it and your coolant level should always be between those lines.

Grab the top of the instrument cluster surround and pull towards you. It should pop right out. You now have exposed the instrument cluster. There are two screws on each side. Unscrew them and pull the cluster out. On the back side you will see the light sockets. Twist the one that is bad to the left and pull out the socket. pull out bulb and replace.

I think we're talking about the "on board recover valve" which is a one way check valve in the charcoal cannister connected to the gas tank. It directs displaced vapours from fuel being pumped into the tank to the cannister. Sometimes it can get stuck (clogged with spider webs for instance) preventing the proper displacement of vapours which in turn shuts the nozzle of the fuel pump off to prevent pressure increases. You will be unable to fill your tank properly with this problem.

Alternatively, just read this explanation: The ORVR is in the top of the fuel tank and is a an OVER FILL CHECK VALVE. If you were to TOP OFF the fuel tank, this valve bleeds fuel to the canister so it doesn overflow. They crack right along the top seam. Many ECHOS/COrollas/Camrys have this problem after a number of years.

The 2001 Toyota Echo wiper blade sizes are 22" drivers and 14" passenger side wiper blades. Do not buy by length-only however. See Sources and Related Links below for more information. Since there are over 22 different wiper arm attachments - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.

The spark plugs are underneath that cover on top of the engine (on mine the cover says VVTi). Just take that cover off, and then you will see the four ignition coils. Take off the four ignition coils (with igniters), and you will see the four relatively long holes underneath, and the spark plugs are at the bottom of those holes. You will need a good spark plug socket (preferably a thin wall socket) and a 6" or 12" extension. This is actually a very easy job, and can be completed in less than an hour.

Depends....could be alot of things whether carbed or fuel injected.. if scannable, do so. 96 and up for free at some parts stores. Advance auto will. Pre-96 will need different scanners or code reader.

If the car already has one, it should be on the front of the motor underneath the exhaust manifold....look for the electrical cord. If there isn't one, you can install one in the frost plug on the side of the block or put an "in-line heater" in the radiator hose (much easier option).

if you mean the wheels, take the lug wrench out of the trunk, pry off the hubcap if equipped, loosen the lug nuts of the wheel you want to remove 1 turn counterclockwise. raise and support the car with whichever wheel you want to remove off the ground, use the lug wrench to remove the nuts entirely, then slide the wheel off the studs. if you then want to remove the tire from the wheel, take it to a garage that changes tires...........you'll never get it off without a tire machine!
