When new from the factory they are certainly popular. Toyota is the world's second largest car and truck manufacturer. I am not going to give my personal opinion here since I don't want to be partial. As for your question, much depends on what you mean by "good". I am sure that you will get different answers from different people when you ask this question. An old truck that has been treated badly will not be "good" in any sense, regardless of the manufacturer. An old truck that has been well maintained is harder to find, but that older truck will be "good" regardless of the producer. The biggest producers of trucks are, to name only some, GM, Toyota, Nissan, Ford, Isuzu, Mazda and others. These producers are all "good" in the sense that they aim for high quality and good performance. I doubt that there is any truck on the market that is "not good" as that truck would very soon disappear from the streets as nobody would buy them. There is a lot of what I would almost call "superstition" when it comes to which truck model is a person's favorite model. It all depends on individual taste and character and what one is looking for in a truck. Gasoline or diesel engine, 2wd or 4wd, 2 door or 4 door etc. The list of accessories is potentially endless.
I own and operate a smog shop in Sacramento, Ca. The vehicle manufacture with the highest percentage of vehicles that pass their biennial emissions test is Toyota, hands down. I have seen pickups with over 300,000 miles on them passing their emissions test with the engine and catalytic converter that it came from the factory with. There is no other vehicle manufactured that can even hold a candle anywhere close to this. Our domestically produced vehicles are right in the middle of the pack with all German produced vehicles sweeping out the basement.

AnswerShare this, as they are a rare find on the Internet. Believe it or not, and I have surfed this for years, www.autozone.com has excellent wiring diagrams, and excellent vacuum hose routing diagrams. They also "walk you through it" in the articles produced on their site. Yours is easy, mine was for a complete vacuum diagram for a 1984 22R RN, and they had it. Something I could not find in any manual I ever looked in.What is the gear ratio in a 1977 Toyota truck?
There are four ways to find a ratio.
1 A dealer can normally tell from the vin number.
2 There are normally tags or labels on the axle that have part number, gear ratio, and fluid requirement
info.
3 You can count how many times you have to turn the driveshaft to get one complete turn of the tires.
4 You can divide the number of teeth on the ring gear and divide by number of teeth on the pinion.

Intake Manifold Removal 89 Toyota Truck 22RE?
How to remove intake from 22re motor, when wire harness go threw the middle of it.is there a brake some where i the line??
On my 92 Xtracab Automatic the wiring harness that goes through the intake manifold has no breaks, it plugs into the transmission in 3 different places and has a couple of clips holding the bundle.
Climb under the truck and be gentle while unplugging the harness, dont break a plug or damage the wires.
Smoke from exhaust smells like antifreeze on 1992 Toyota truck?
the head is blown , or is about too . This must be a 3vze v6. If so it is probably a blown head gasket. They had a recall on this, maybe over now though I dont know. This is very common on the v6 aluminum head and iron block. New head bolts and an upgraded gasket is a good fix. dealer waranty under the recall is a better one.
How important is the knock sensor to the ignition system?
Well, it like this. If the knock sensor is bad and the ignition system does not know this, it will destroy the engine, that all.
1988 Toyota pickup truck fuel tank removeal?
I'm just getting ready to put mine back in. its pretty easy. start by the right rear tire and un plug the wires and fuel lines that go to the top of the tank (if you can reach them) maybe take the back tire off to give yourself more room. if you cant reach them yet start unbolting the bolts holding the tank up, carefuly so you don't screw up the lines or wires (like i did) if you have a skid plate that comes off first but it's only 4 or so extra bolts. start at the front of the tank and drop it down so you can see whatever you didnt un hook already. un hook and unbolt the rest whatever way you can reach. if you have a pit or a hoist you shouldn't even be reading this. laying under it trying to locate the next bolt is the hardest part but gets easier as the tank loosens up. oh yeah........you might want to empty the tank first.
Where is the fuel filter located on a 1989 Mazda truck?
On my 1989 Mazda B2600 the fuel filter is located on the firewall near the top of the engine compartment on the left hand side looking in.
*****************************************************************
From RonSh: I have two 1989 Mazda B2200 trucks, probably from two different manf. facilities. On one truck, the fuel filter is as above but closer to the carburetor and takes 10 minutes to change out.
On the other truck, to my suprise and angst, it is located behjind the fuel tank. Both are identical lookng. Be sure you know which line is coming from the tank and which is going to the front toward the carburetor. I had to physically feel and follow the lines because both go to an area hard to see without the vehicle being on a lift and I had poor lighting.
How can you fix a leaking auto engine distributor vacuum advance?
You must replace it . Remove the 2 screewes that hold it to the distributor base and it will then slide out and the 90 degree rod will drop out of the bass plate hole as you are moving it. Then put the new 1 on and hook the vacuum hose to it.
My first impression is to check the fuel filter. Other than that, I'd need more information. Does a "check engine" light come on? Have you tried to read the diagnostic codes?

How do you get the rotor off a 89-94 4wd pickup with locking hubs to change the brakes?
For a Toyota Pickup?? You do not have to remove the rotor to change the brakes, for that matter you do not have to remove the caliper either. To change the front brakes: 1) Remove cover on brake master cylinder. This will relieve pressure in the system for step 2. 2)Remove tire. Leafing the original brake pads in place C-clamp on brake pad and outside of caliper. Lossen the bleeder valve. Turn c-clamp to squeezed caliper pistons back. Fliud should squirt out of bleeder valve. Once the calipers are all the way back inot caliper, undo brake pad clip and pull pins back. 3) The old pads will slide out the back of caliper, insert new pads in and replace clip. 4) Don't forget to bleed the brakes. A chiltons manual will walk you through it step by step.
Where is location of knock sensor 1991 Toyota truck with 3.0 3VZ-E?
The knock sensor is located in the block, under the intake manifold. You have to basically remove the top end of the engine to get to it. The pigtail which connects the sensor to the harness is usually the culprit. It is notorious for failing but after spending all the time and money for gaskets I would recommend replacing the sensor as well.
