Turbo diesel - a idesel engine with a turbocharger to increase engine performance. Most of the time used to increase power which reduces fuel economy. In some cases, the gain of power sometimes grants the gain of fuel economy by added exhaust gas back pressure. Back pressure on exhaust increases the amount of exhausted gas returns through an EGR system (exhausted gas return) which gives more exhaust to the intake to lower the oxygen content which lowers the amount of injected fuel for high fuel savings. This is generally a gas engine concept but newer 2004+ diesel engines will tend to have this system as more and more electronic control is pioneered into diesel engines.

Non-turbo - also known as naturally aspirated engines. This is an engine that uses no Turbo. Most vehicles are this way unless they have special model trims that have Turbo package options.

Yes you could. That belt is only for the AC.

Supercharging is not the same as turbocharging your engine.

A turbocharger is driven by a belt and sucks in air by 2 big rotors inside.

The air gets compressed and than cooled down in the intercooler.

The difference is that with a supercharger you do not have tubo-lag because it's direct driven by a belt and a turbo needs to spool up before it can give you some extra power.

It really depends on how much power you want(boost level and lbs/min of air needed) and what the motor can handle. The most extreme diesels(sled pull trucks) run compound turbos (the compressed air out of 1 turbo going into the intake of the 2nd/3rd turbo) with upwards of 100+psi of boost.

You can use the rb26dett (thats the only twin turbo the skyline has) You can not use the tranny from the rb26dett(GTR)because it is AWD the rb25det can also be used(not a twin turbo) You would have to use the sr20det tranny or the tranny from a GTS also a skyline and some different motor mounts and a drive shaft but yes it can be done.

BOV's (blow-off valve) are to prevent too much positive pressure from entering the engine due to boost build-up and to releave back pressure from re-entering the Engine. A non-turbo car cannotuse a "BOV" since there is no turbo and/or positive pressure present in the intake manifold. This is STRONGLY not recommended, on NON-Turbo cars. As there is not reason for it to be present.

Depends on what type,centifugal/ roots/ screw type, on normally aspirated motors you can expect 30% increase with 6psi, with an intercooler 8.5-9psi can give you a 60% boost.

look at the engine, is there a snail shell looking thing attached to the front of the engine...if so then u got one.

If your Eclipse is a GS or RS it did not come from the factory with a turbo. the engine should be on the passenger side of the car. That engine is a 420a.

If you have an Eclipse GSX or GS-T then you have a turbo charged engine. the engine will be on the drivers side of the car. this is the 4g63 engine.

it is possible to have a 420a with a turbo, but someone will have had to put it on themselves, and you would probably know that when you bought it.

It is the hoses that carry compressed air from the turbo to the throttle body.

You should first figure out if your transmission is up to it. If you're running a 4L60E auto or NV3500 manual (the two transmissions most commonly mated to a GM small block for that era), it won't be. Then you'll have to figure out what PPM injectors you'll need, and what air intake and exhaust you're going with. Run a turbo with the stock intake, injectors, and exhaust, and you'll be running way too lean of a mixture, and the turbo will be detrimental, rather than beneficial. Gas engines are VERY strict when it comes to the stochoimetric ratio, and adding a turbo is not a simple "plug and play" modification.

The 350 is a virtual Barbie doll of engines... you can accessorize it any which way you please. Marine heads and cams, turbochargers, twin or compounded turbos, air intakes, high performance exhausts, superchips.... but you better have good fashion sense in how you match them up, or this one will make you miserable.
