Vehicle Cigarette Lighters

You have to open a plastic box up under the pedals. but there are fuseable links.

My 93 Ford class C motorhome also has a plastic box right below the brake master cylinder (under the hood) that has a bunch of fuses also. Hope it helps

The box under the hood is the power distribution panel with high amperage circuits. The owners manual indicates that the fuse box is at the base of the steering column under an access panel. it is not there. You will find the fuse panel under the dash on the firewall to the left of the brake pedal. It doesn't look like the drawing in the manual because it has a black plastic cover that pulls off. Look for a black plastic rectangle about 3 inches wide and 6 inches tall.

on the my 2002 impala there is a fuse on the passenger side just above the aux fuse that controls the driver side cigarette lighter. the fuse that is listed in the manual on the driver side fuse panel does not connect to the lighter. a continuity check between the fuse panel and the lighter confirms that.

Let Me tell you friend... My '03 impala has a bad cig/ltr socket. After half my hair came out I replaced it and stopped letting pennies and dimes fall into it. The aux pwr. socket won't work without the cig/ltr socket in the circuit or it's fuse being blown. Why the two circuits are tied in this manner.?. I don't know.

fuse panel is located below steering wheel to the left. there is a small cover that pulls off. it has aplace to place approximately two or three fingers in.

On my 94 Sierra there are also a lot of fuse under the hood in the relay box mounted over the wheelwell on the drivers side. Also, a lot of the functions that used to be protected by fuses are handled by relays in the same box. After mine turned 200k I have had to replace 6 of the relays (about $15 each at an aftermarket parts store). I know the horn, ignition, high beams, low beams, airconditioner and horn are all on separate relays. Also I remember that the trailer towing light fuses are in the relay box.

In a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria :

In the fuse panel below and to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal ( it has a cover on it )

( # 25 is a 20 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter , power point , and emergency flashers )

uhh...try looking in the fusebox???

I had the same problem and just looked under the hood for another fuse box.It is located on the paseenger side, open the box and you will see 2 fuses 20A in yellow, either one or both of them have blown. All you have to do now is replace them. Also check under the steering wheel in this fuse box as well.

fuses are on the drivers side of the dashboard take off the side panel with screw driver relays are set back on the left side of the steering wheel take off the panel under steering wheel look down in relay box is right there (left side)

I believe it's 39, should say on the inside of the panel that covers your access to the fuse box.

This is in the rear compartment fuse block, located in the trunk of the vehicle. Access the fuse block through the trunk panel on the driver's side of the rear cargo area. It will be fuse number 20 that needs to be replaced for the cig lighter.

No 23 20 Amp

Under the dash u need to pull it down to open the whole dash of emergency light and cigs lighter dash

Once its open you can unscrew the back of the lighter socket

The fuse is a yellow 20A fuse. I Found it by removing the console under the steering wheel, 4 screws, it is on the upper right side of the secondary fuse board....

You can see these fuses and relays when you look in from the standard fuse board.

It's an asy job when you know how!

Sgtarms: You will also find the trunk auxiliary cigarette lighter socket fuse on the same secondary fuse panel on the LOWER RIGHT corner.

My deepest thanks to the German engineers who in their infinite wisdom fail to mention the SECONDARY FUSE PANEL even ONCE in 200 pages of VW owner's manuals!

You need to find the correct lighter socket for ur type of vehicle, you could use a unviersal one to save some cash, but personally i rather to with OEM parts for this kind of stuff to not have to mess with wiring. Afterwards all u need to do s remove the panel where ur lighter socket is located, on my 2004 ford mustang i have to remove the actual pannel and not the side one to access the lighter socket. disconect the electrical cable connected to it and then proceed with removing the sockets houseing bracket. Afterwards push the socket out the front and replace it with the new one and connect all cables back along with panel. But if its not ur fuse that isn't blown id still test the lighter socket with a multimeter to check its that is the one that is not working before purchasing antyhing

Check the fuses

Look for a short in the power wire to the computer. A place where the insulation has been cut through by a sharp edge, or there is a problem with the computer, bad ground. If there is specific condition when this happens, only when it rains, look for water leaks around the fuse box or the computer.

HI, THE CIGAR LIGHTER FUSE IS LOCATED BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX

Not that I've ever found. You could probably put one in, if you're handy around electricity.

flat ones in, two up and the small one (usually red) is the one that you really dont want to feed to your dog.

The fuses on a 1997 Toyota Camry are in 2 locations. First, under the hood on the driver's side there is a foot-long rectangular-almost shaped black plastic box that is south of the battery that has clips that hold it on. Remove the clips/pry open to reveal several fuses and under the lid are the amps/locations. Second box is inside the car to the left of the steering wheel on the lowest part of the dash behind that little drawer that opens up to put change and such in-it is behind that little door so just pry it open- you won't break it-it's meant to be pulled of. at the front of the bike, should be factory mounted on the gauge bracket. also there are some fuses under the tail fairing, left side of the seat

It is located in the passenger footwell on the right. Just open that little panel where the passenger's right foot would rest.

On a 2005 Ford Escape ( # 24 is a 20 amp mini fuse for the cigarette lighter ,

located in the fuse panel in the front passenger side of the center console )

It is fuse #18 in the trunk fuse box it is a 20 amp. labeled in the owners manual as accessories fuse.
