The Rodeo was a pickup truck manufactured by Isuzu from 1988 to 2002. Available as a two-door pickup truck, a two-door Spacecab pickup truck, and a four-door Crewcab pickup truck, the car features a front-engine, rear/four-wheel drive layout.
I had the same problem on my MX-3. You can reach up from under the car and feel for the spring release to pop the hood. The problem is, the manufacturer put a piece of flat metal in your way, I guess so strangers can't pop it. The metal is not all that hard. It's like an L shaped flap about 3 inches...

I assume you have the 3.2L 6 cyl engine. You will have to remove the front pulley on engine that drives all belts-the bolt takes a 15/16" socket-it will be very tough to remove if it's the first time. I used a "chain type" strap wrench tool-similiar to n oil filter strap wrench-to hold the pulley...
This one is generally a bit more complicated than most cars. The vehicle has "inboard rotors" which are attached to the hub unit itself. If it doesn't, consider yourself lucky. Easiest way to remove them is to take off the caliper and caliper mounting bracket first (17mm for caliper,...
idle air control motor has to much build up of carbon, clean it
Go under the dash board on the drivers side of the vehicle, behind it you will see the cable which is connected to the hood release handle. Grab a set of pliers, and grip the cable, (by the exposed part of the cable if possible) then pull it towards you, or put tension on the cable until the...
== Answer == The Transmission: Keep an eye on your oil level, as it can get low on you real quick, especially on long hi speed highway trips. There are ways to remedy this. If equipped with an AT, your rodeo has a 4L30E GM trans. You should change the ATF. BMac- for the ATF...

the 4jx1 engine does not have an injector pump. it is a common rail diesel and therefore relies on a high pressure pump in the tank supplying 4 electronic injectors fitted to a common rail, similar to most modern petrol engines. To realize the compatibility between low exhaust emission...

== Answer == on my 99 rodeo, this problem was caused by the fuel indicator located inside the fuel tank and part of the pump - you need to replace the entire pump which entails dropping the entire tank
What motor is my question. it's either the 2.6L 4-Cylinder or the 3.2L V6 and having owned 4 rodeos and 2 Amigos (as well as 1 trooper) I know that the rodeo was first introduced in 1990. again, the 2.6L 4-Cylinder or the 3.2L V6 are the only ones that would fit.
i have replaced wires, plugs, distributor cap, button, fuel filter, air filter PVC valve and fuel injectors what else could it be?    Answer First, you have to define what "not run properly" means to you. Is the engine missing/running rough? Does it not run properly at all engine speeds?...
clockThere's a button by the cassette player that says display, press that and then also at same time press left arrow to change hour or right arrow to change minutes.
How to properly change spark plugs I don't know about the 2.6L engine, but in the 3.2L there are acually no spark plug wires, the engine acually has whats called, coil over plug which means the the power to make a spark plug spark, happens right over your spark plug. Now in order to get to the spark...

== Answer == From your post it seems that you don't really understand the air conditioning system. It might be best to take it to someone who does or at least find a friend who can help. AC compressors aren't SUPPOSED to engage until you have built up enough refrigerant...
Here you go! From Da Car Dr. 1.Open the driver's door. 2.Insert key into ignition. 3.Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position and then to the LOCK position three times. (This step must be completed within 3 seconds - go as fast as yo can, or the system will not...
Open the drivers door and it's right there on the side of the dash. There's and box in the engine compartment also for most of the engine relays and fuses.
Remove the fuse. Fuse box is located on the driver side of the dash, between the dash and driver side door.Note: The airbag is part of the safety systems in the car and should not be disarmed.
== Answer == It may be located in the airbag sensor control unit.

My 2002 Ford Focus ZX3 has a spark plug gap of .050" (1.3mm).
I was quoted $2200 to replace the timing belt for the amount of work and labor involved.
It's in front of the glove box, remove glove box and unplug and test for voltage first on the blue/white wire and make sure it not just a bad fan switch, they go bad more than the blowers do. If voltage is there then reconnect and jumper the blue/black wire to ground, if it don't run then the...
It is a very involved process. You need to remove the front side of the engine. The Water Pump is behind the Timing Belt so I would also replace the belt, idler pully, and tensioner, seeing that this is such an involved job. If you are new to major mechanic work leave this job to a Pro. At...
There is a belt tensioner (spring loaded pulley that automatically keeps the belt tight) that needs to be temporarily slackened while the now loose belt is slipped off one of the accessories. Sorry, but I can't remember what tool is needed to loosen the belt tensioner. Just opening the hood and...

If you take your Rodeo to the dealer, it wil run around $400 to $500. The part is available aftermarket, or from Isuzu. I bought mine from a seller on eBay for around $40. The fuse box for the vehicle is on the far driver's side near the hood latch. If you oen the drivers side door and kneel down toward the front it will be facing you. No but they are torqued on at 125 to 130 ft. lbs and as a result, very hard to get broke loose.
Had this happen on my Blazer the hose came disconnected in the tailgate and the washer fluid was emptying into the tailgate. You need to take the inside panel off to get at the hose to reconnect. Also dry your tailgate out. Needless to say I no longer use this option.
Remove upper clamp ( located on the top of the radiator ) and disconnect upper and lower hoses. To install do the reverse . I also have a 1995 rodeo with a flexlite 116 electric cooling fan. It was very easy to istall ( thru core kit included ) . Make sure you get the one that moves 2015 cfm. I live...

First thing is add/ check trans fluid. No dip stick, there is two drain plugs on trans oil pan. Get a squirt hand pump oil can and hose and pump fluid into upper plug hole with engine running till over flowing then shut off and put plug back in after it stops dripping. See if that fixs it...
hi i have a 2005 Isuzu rodeo hard to start in morning is there a glow plug fuse are any ideal. 70,000 milescheers
Most likely a bad sending unit. Buy one off eBay for $35-$40 and drop the tank and swap units on to pump or buy from the dealer with the pump for $200.
I had the same problem and soon discovered that I was out of transmission fluid. The way I discovered this of course was the stream of fluid I left right before this happened. I looked beneath the vehicle to find the entire underside covered in transmission fluid, and discored it had been leaking...

== Answer == If you look on the serp belt routing diagram, you will see a belt tentioner pointed out. Adjust the tentioner so that the belt loosens, and remove it. Disconnect battery. At this point, remove the wires from the back of the alt. As I remember, there are three bolts...
With a 3" suspension lift on my 2001 I have P245-75-R16's and they rub a little on the front mud flaps when I turn but not too bad.
This problem is typically caused by a bad differential speed sensor that can be easily replaced by your mechanic for about $300 ($200 for parts, $200 for labor). If you are mechanically inclined you can fix it yourself for about $100 in parts from the Arizona Autohaus web site. After fixing it you...
I have a '96 Rodeo and I just finished doing it. Locate headlamps, pull the plug out of the back of the headlight. There's a wire harness helping to hold in the headlight, which is just a bulb, and you have to pry it off on top being careful not to let it come out at the bottom. The wire harness...
change you thermostat it is stuck open or not closing fully. This allows the coolant to circulate to quickly.
I do not know about Rodeo's made before 1998, but for Rodeo's '98 and up the removal (and installation of an aftermarket) stereo is relatively simple. If you open the ashtray, you will see a screw in there. That is the only screw that holds the stereo frame in place. Once you have this screw out, if...
It depends on whether you restricted the rights in the easement when you gave it to her, whether it is written or oral, and whether she paid anything in return for the rights. You would typically want to document these sort of things rather carefully, using specific, selected terms to limit...
It is possible there is a problem in the dash board that reads the output of the sensor. You may need a "cluster" which can be purchased from a junk yard / parts recycler cheaper than a new on at the dealership.
Fuel filter is on frame rail next to the fuel tank. Undo clamps and change, pointing the arrow in the flow direction. If you have the spring type clamps then it's a good time to put screw type on. The manual says to disconnect the battery first for safety.
Use a small blade screwdriver to lift locking clip. Locking clip wraps around ball and goes into the socket on either end of the shock. Lift straight off. Lifting window assists in removal. Do not let go of window.
== The transmission on a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo is a closed system and cannot be checked via dipstick. It will generally have to be done at a service garage. Under normal circumstances the transmission fluid should not have to be checked, such as like the motor oil. == == == == == ==...
I've done it but it was years ago and I'm working from a poor memory. The grill has to come out to give you access to the fasteners holding the plastic bumper cover on. They are held by an ingenious little plastic clip that you access from the front of the vehicle. These "Clips" have to be...
Most common thing on Rodeo's is gas sending unit is bad. Buy replacement unit on eBay for around $35-$40 and drop the tank and swap with bad one on fuel pump or buy the whole unit with the pump from the dealer for $200.
On a '98 it meant an upgrade package of features; some of it was "wood (plastic) grained interior accents, 16 in lieu of 15 inch wheels, alloy wheels, matching heated exterior mirrors etc. I suspect it isn't any different for the ;95
Have you had your alternator or battery checked lately? The vehicle could not be charging enough to handle the electrical load
I had the same problem in my 98' rodeo and the tube running to the EGR valve was clogged, taking the EGR valve off and spraying carb cleaner down the tube unclogged it and it fixed the problem
== Answer == dextron or mercon III.. normally you have to pump it in from the bottom.
The 3.2 liter V6 most certainly does. It is located under the carpet beneath the passenger side front seat. If you see the "check trans" light and your tranny is in limp mode (L and 3rd gears only), the connectors to the transmission control module may be loose.

There are no compatible parts on these 2 so it would hae to be a 100% from scratch conversion, requiring modifyinng mounts, driveline components, wiring, fuel, exhaust, etc. Lots of time, money, energy, frustration, etc.
== # of O2 sensors and ID (Isuzu, 96-02) == That's the post-catalytic converter O2 sensor. There are only 3 total O2 sensors (I have a 98 Amigo), bank1, sensors1&2 are on each exhaust manifold, before the cat, and bank2, sensor1 is right after the cat. This is according to Haynes,...
