To disable the doorbell on a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon without affecting the door sensors, you would need to locate the doorbell unit, typically found behind the dashboard or near the center console. Once located, you can either disconnect the wiring to mute the sound or adjust the settings using the car's manual if available. It's important to exercise caution and consult a mechanic if you're unsure about the process.

If your talking about the Neutral Start (Starter Safety)

REPLACEMENT

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Caution: On models equipped with the Theftlock audio system, be sure the lockout feature is turned off before performing any procedure which requires disconnecting the battery.(This switch is also referred to as the PNP (Park-Neutral Position) switch.

2. Shift the transaxle into Neutral.

3. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands.

4. Trace the wire harness from the Neutral start switch to the connector and unplug it. Detach the wire harness from the two retention clips.

5. Lower the vehicle.

6. Disconnect the electrical and vacuum connectors from the cruise control servo if equipped. Remove the servo and set it out of the way on the cowl.

7. Remove the nut and detach the shift lever from the transaxle.

8. Remove the bolts and detach the switch. If the original switch is to be reinstalled, scribe a sharp line on the switch mounting bracket around the heads of the mounting bolts before the switch is removed. This will aid in position the switch on installation.

9. To install the switch, line up the flats on the shift shaft with the flats in the switch and lower the switch onto the shaft.

10. Install the bolts. If the switch is new and the shaft hasn't been moved, tighten the bolts. If the switch requires adjustment leave the bolts loose and follow the adjustment procedures below...

Where is the PCV valve located on a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix LE?

User Avatar

If your engine is a 3.1L V6 and it sits horizontally in your engine bay (as in 3 spark plugs in front and 3 behind the block next to the firewall) then the valve should be located above the exhaust manifold that's in front of the firewall. it's inside a little tube and it should have written on the tube; "PCV".

Why won't my headlights come on?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

if it is your running lights that wont come on, your emergency brake could be on, or the sensor may be reading that it is on. this defeats the running lights. you will know this is happening because the emergency brake light will be on. if this is the case, reach under the drivers side door and with the e-brake off, wiggle the e-brake cable back and forth. the running lights should come back on once the emergency brake cable is in the off position.

How do you remove transmission 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

This is a job of extreme difficulty/skill level and should only be done be experienced technicians. The transmission cooling lines need to be disconnected. The transmission then needs to be supported. The transmission mount can be disconnected followed by the bell housing bolts which fasten the assembly to the engine. The drive shaft can then be dropped. Lastly the bell housing bolts can be removed allowing the assembly to be lowered.?æ

Where are the spark plugs?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Spark plugs are threaded into the cylinder head on the engine. They are sometimes hard to locate because of the use of composite materials used to hide their appearance. Automotive manufacturers like the idea of a sleek flat looking engine bay, so they hide it all behind plastic.

Look for 4, 6, or 8 (depending on the number of cylinders in your vehicle) wide heavy gauge wires grouped together. Follow these to your spark plugs.

One note to add, not all cars have ignition wires. Such as the GM quad 4 motor for one. On the top of the motor there is a coil housing cover that needs to be removed to access them.

How do you change the back 3 spark plugs on a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

undo motor mount in front and put jack under engine and gently lower engine until you can see back plugs

Well, if you want to make it harder on yourself, you can change them the way I did on my 98 Grand Prix. Don't mess with motor mounts and just try to reach back there using a mirror and skinny hands to pull wire off, untighten, replace, retighten, wire back on, and lose 2-3 tools in the engine compartment that never fell through to the ground. It was fun!!

Make sure the car wheels are chocked. Be on level ground. Make sure the transmission is in Park. Remove the forward most bolts in each of the two motor mounts in front of the engine. Have someone help you push the car forward and the engine will move away from the firewall as you do this. once you get the car forwrd enough make sure you have the wheels chocked again so the car can't roll backwards. You will see an "eye" on the bottom of the motor mount that you can stick the bolt back trough once you get the engine rocked forward enough. Once you get the bolt in the eye you will have plenty of room to get down behind the engine. You can go further if you don't want to use the bolt through the eye. Just push the car forwrd even more and chock the wheels again. You will want to make sure that whatever you have securing the wheels will not come out. You wouldn't want it to happen and get you arm pinned in between the firewall and the engine.

Just changed spark plugs on my 98 Grand Prix with 3.8L V-6. Was able to get to back spark plugs without moving engine, although you may skin some knuckles--my hands and arms are not skinny. The hardest part was removing the old wires--twist the boot first to break them free from the spark plug before trying to remove them. I also replaced the wires as a precaution and since I found some cracks at the wire-to-boot base. You will need a ratchet with a flex head and a short extension between the ratchet and spark plug socket to ease removal. Using dielectric grease on the boot before installing it on the new plugs should ease removal of the wire in the future if you need to.

How do you replace the headlights on a 1997 Toyota Camry?

Hello all...I have just recently replaced all the dash/instrument lights in my '92 previa GL..the instrument cluster has 4 retaining screws to remove ( after you take off the heater/radio surround and the cowling over the intrument cluster) and then you gently pull the whole unit toward the steering wheel, be careful as it is attached to a steel wire underneath, so that you don't pull all the wires out of the back !!Reach behind or get out and have a look through the screen and you will find 3 large, 1/4 turn, bulb holders. A gentle twist and pull out reveals a D501 pattern bulb...I have replaced mine with BLUE NEON ones from Halfords ( 6.99 a pair ) and they look absolutely wicked.I then went on to replace the heater, cigar lighter and ashtray bulbs with blue 'pea' led's ( they work one way round and not the other...trial and error but you can't blow the bulbs..).The only ones that I haven't been able to source in blue yet are the real tiny ones that fit in the various switches...I'll post again once I find some or solve the problem in some other way.If anyone knows where I might get some...? Please let me know.

Why would a car with new spark plugs sputter?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Hey Lisa==If it started when the plugs were installed they could be the wrong brand or gap, or the wires and rotor and cap could need replaced. GoodluckJoe A common mistake for this happening after the plugs were installed and the car ran fine beforehand is that the plug wires were put back on the wrong cylinders. If you check all that and it all checks out good, you might have bad gas.

Headlights won't come on 1998 Ford Taurus?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You might want to check the fuse box in the engine compartment. My headlamps would turn off at random, sometimes while driving. I used to open the hood and shut it and they would come back on. Then I figured out that there was something loose at the fuse box in the engine compartment and jiggling the wires solved the problem for good.
