How many teeth are on a ring gear and pinion for a 4.11 gear ratio?
One key to this design problem is to remember that gears must have a whole number of teeth. It is impossible to roll a gear against another gear that has, say, half, a tooth somewhere among the whole teeth. So gears always have a whole number of teeth.
Another key is that the gear ratio is the ratio of the numbers of teeth on two gears, N1 divided by N2. The result of this division often produces a fraction AND the fraction is often ROUNDED OFF in printed materials. Because of this round-off, you cannot be certain what the actual fraction is. This means that, even when you find whole-number values for N1 and N2, you cannot be certain that they represent the exact numbers.
So, here is how to find the pair of gears from a given gear ratio such as 4.11. First, examine the fraction, 0.11, from the ratio. Find a whole number m such that m times the fractional part of the gear ratio gives another whole number almost exactly? Try m = 2, 3, 4 ... up to 16 or even more until you find a good fit.
For the given problem, 9 x 0.11 = 0.99, which is almost 1.
That whole number m is the SMALLEST possible number of teeth for one gear.
Multiply the gear ratio by m and round to a whole number to get the least number of teeth on the second gear. So, 9 teeth is the smallest number of teeth for one gear and 9 x 4.11 = 36.99 (that is, 37) is the smallest number of teeth for the other gear.
You can multiply the number of teeth on both gears by any whole number without changing the gear ratio. So, 2 x 9 = 18 teeth and 2 x 37 = 74 teeth also have the ratio 37 / 9 = 4.11111...
Here is how to tweak the result if the fraction you chose didn't give a satisfactory result:
Multiply the number of teeth from the trial answer by any whole number, say 2 or 20.
20 x 9 = 180 and 20 x 37 = 740
Now subtract 1 from the number of teeth on the larger gear and calculate the gear ratio.
740 - 1 = 739 and 739 / 180 = 4.105555...
Alternatively, add a tooth to the larger gear and check that ratio: 741 / 180 = 4.116666...

Where is the blower motor resistor on a 1995 Chevy 1500 ck pickup?
The Blower Motor Resistor is definitely on the passenger side behind the glove box. If you have a bit of patience you will be able to do it yourself. 1. First detach the glove box by removing the plastic restraint on the left side and depressing both sides and pulling down. Be careful, it breaks really easily. Once the glove box is out of the way use a flashlight and look directly on top of the air box. There is a metal bracket held in with two small screws with a relay on it (I used a 7mm). 2. Undo the screws and carefully push the bracket upwards, there is a plug connecting two wires held in by a plastic nub. 3. Remove the nub by squeezing it and pulling on it lightly. 4. Push the wire and any others in there that you can to the side to get them out of the way. 5. Next unplug the relay. This should free up the metal bracket and let you remove it. Use a flashlight and look directly behind where the relay was. This is the resistor. It has a group of wires plugged into it and is held in by two more of those little screws. 6. Unplug the wires. I used a flathead to carefully pry open the little latch and push up on the wire. Move the wires to the side. Try to wedge them carefully so they stay out of the way. 7. Use a little wrench and undo the little screws. 8. Remove the old resistor. ** I suggest taking your time with the old one to try and find a plan of attack to get it out/in. There isn't much room. Replace with the new one and put everything back. Good Luck! ****If you get frustrated and go for a beer, to find tools, lunch whatever, I suggest that you unplug the little light that usually illuminates the glove box.

Which is the best carburetor for a Chevy 400 small block?
A lot of people have a tendency to over carburet their engines. If this is not a high horse race engine and more of a pickup truck or mild hotrod motor you may want to try sticking with a 600 or 650 CFM carburetor. It really comes down to the details. What type of vehicle and its intended use as well as the engine specifications. Ie.. Cam, heads, etc

Why does the oil pressure drop in a 2.9 liter when it is up to operating temperature?
The oil pump supplies a volume of oil to the bearings where it is squeezed past to create oil pressure. With that said, the first thing I would do is to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge in place of the sending unit. Crank to engine and let it reach operating temperature and get readings along the way. If it holds above 10 pounds at idle then replace the pressure switch. Next I would change oil and filter as the filter has a built in relief valve. Then the next step would be to drop the oil pan and see if the strainer is partially stopped up. If not then look at a rod and main bearing for wear. If they are worn then rebuild the engine as you still have cam bearing you can check.

Why does the check engine light come on in a Chevy?
The check engine light (service engine soon) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to AutoZone or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area.
