What do stars represent in the bible?

Stars, throughout the history of Biblical writings, represent both Angels, and people, alike.

One example is how Joseph's dream in Genesis 37 is equated with the same symbology in Revelation 12, where the, "Sun and the Moon, and the twelve Stars" over the woman represent the Jewish patriarchs, and are a symbol of the twelve tribes of Israel.

Another classic example is where, in Daniel 12:3, the Angel Gabriel equates "Stars" with, "they who bring many to righteousness", and, who will shine "forever and ever".

Jesus in Revelation describes Himself as, "the root and offspring of David, and the bright and morning star."

In Mathew 22, and in Luke 20, additionally, we see how Jesus states that believers are "as", and, "equal to" the angels in Heaven.

Does the American flag have anything to do with Tae Kwon Do?

In the United States, the National Flag is often displayed at places of public gathering, meetings, and classroom instruction. This is a symbol of patriotism, and social unity. In most Taekwondo dojang (schools) around the world, the Korean Flag is hung in honor of the place of origin of Taekwondo, and the National Flag of the country where the dojang is located is also prominently displayed.

Taekwondo is a Martial Art that teaches students to be positive role models in the community, law abiding citizens, and productive members of society. The presence of the American flag in Taekwondo schools in the United States is a reminder to students that they are part of a country that stands for individual freedoms and human rights as well as moral and ethical obligations. Just as individuals utilize Taekwondo to defend themselves and stand up for what is right, other people have shed blood and died in defense of the country, and preserving these freedoms.

Like most martial artists, taekwondo students follow a version of the Se Sok O-Gye, a moral code formulated by a Buddhist monk named Won Gwang in the 6th century AD.

The original Se Sok O-Gye (moral code) consisted of five parts:

事君以忠 -- Loyalty to one's king.

事親以孝 -- Respect to one's parents.

交友以信 -- Faithfulness to one's friends.

臨戰無退 -- Courage in battle.

殺生有擇 -- Justice in killing.

In modern times, loyalty to one's king is easily translated into loyalty to one's country. Wearing the flag of one's country on the sleeve of the uniform, and displaying it in the dojang, is a nice way to express one's loyalty and patriotism.

Why are stars upside down on some confederate flags?

Answer

I am like you---it bothers me to see Stars upside down. However, if you look at the overall layout of the Confederate Battle Flag. The Battle flag is the red flag with the blue X in the form of St. Andrews cross and within the blue X were 11 stars(5-pointed).

For some flags the Stars are arranged with the one "arm" pointed Up. But some have the stars arranged so the base of the Star(the lower 2 points) are aligned with the line of the X. So the stars are angled the same as the arm of the X. The result is that the star appears to be upside-down when viewed relative to viewers perspective.

does it not have something to do with the fact that it was a flag created during a war time? The Union flag during the civil war had its center star with 2 points up and a single one directly down. I have been lead to believe that an upside down star is reserved to flags created while the country is under distress. That being said any confederate flags that have all their points up are inherently wrong

No, however, they do have an anthem called: "God Save the Queen":

(tune of the American "My Country, 'Tis of Thee")

God save our gracious Queen,

Long live our noble Queen

God Save the Queen,

Send her victorious!

Happy and glorious,

Long to reign over us,

God Save the Queen!

O Lord our God arise,

Scatter her enemies,

and make them fall;

Confound their politics,

Frustrate their knavish tricks,

On her our hopes we fix,

God save us all.

Thy Choicest gifts in store,

On her be pleased to pour,

Long may she reign;

May she defend our laws,

And ever give us pause,

To sing with heart and voice,

God Save the Queen.

Does Obama say the Pledge of Allegiance?

Yes, Barack Obama says the Pledge of Allegiance often, since the US Senate starts every session with the Pledge. There is a YouTube video showing Obama leading the Senate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance (with his hand to his heart), and there are pictures showing Obama holding his hand to his heart for the Pledge on other occasions. This confusion was the result of a picture showing Obama standing without his hand to his heart, next to two other candidates who are holding their hands to their heart. But the photo's caption is incorrect, they are not reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, but rather standing for the National Anthem (which can be verified by watching a YouTube video of the event). This was during an informal, outdoor event for Democratic candidates. Although protocol suggests that the hand should be held to the heart during the National Anthem, observing any sporting event will show that only some Americans do so. But regardless of hand placement, most Americans stand respectfully during the National Anthem, which is what Obama was doing in that photograph. When his aides were asked about this, they replied that sometimes Obama puts his hand to his heart during the Anthem, and other times he does not.
