Does a lien still show on the title of a vehicle if you file bankruptcy?
Yes, liens survive a BK unless the debtor files an adversary proceeding to have it removed (because the lien impedes an exemption). In a BK, the note from the vehicle sale is discharged- meaning that you cant be forced to pay your car loan. However, the lien survives- so if you dont pay, the lender has the right to re-posses the vehicle. If the lender does go ahead and reposses, the lender cannot go after you for the difference between the loan amount and the amount the vehicle sold for at auction.

You failed to payback the loan thus the title company became the owner of the car. You have no rights to information regarding a car that's not yours. I can guess that you believe any addition amount the title company got for the car over what you owed them should be yours. This is not true either because, as stated, the title company was the legal owner at the time of auction and thus retains all proceeds. If the car sold for less than you owed them and they come after you for the difference then they must show you the information you're asking about.

That would be a good question to ask your B/K attorney. You have paid her/him so let them earn some of it. If that's not possible, get another attorney to send them a letter. BUT, did you include the lender in the B/K? The lender will have to have some reason to want to do so. Good Luck
if you are the highest bidder, you get the auction papers to the car, when u go to the DMV you will register the car as your own, the title will come in the mail and show an existing lien on the car it says the banks name and your name yet, the person who originally requested the auto loan will have to pay for the car even if it is in your possesion, so you are not responsible for paying the lien and no one has the authority to take that vehicle away from you as long as you bought it legally in a auction and keep copies of all the auction paper work cause one day you might need it. now if you want to sell the car with a lien on the title, i don't know what happens there, that's the step im up to.
