it takes up space on your computer's memory. If spam were not controlled, made illegal, filtered and discouraged, every business would send emails to everybody as often as they could. Remember that email is very cheap and a business can send literally millions of messages every day.
So every email address everywhere would receive thousands and thousands of advertising messages every day. Your mailbox would fill up in a few seconds, then all further messages would be refused.
If you were to receive a legitimate email, from a friend, during that time, it would be impossible to find that message among your thousands of spam messages, or due to your full mailbox, your friends would not be able to contact you at all.
So email would become useless.
Spam takes up time and bandwidth that could be better spent on other things. A good portion of all internet traffic and all computational transactions is spam related. This doesn't just reduce the number of computer cycles and the bandwidth available for more productive purposes, but it also costs energy, thus contributing to both the global energy-scarcity problem and global warming.

They use famous people to get you drawn into their company, but really they are a big scam!! They will also make you many offers in exchange of selling candy to fundraise! I remember they had a girl that was their singer and they said she was working with Miami Sound Machine, well iM SURE BUT THEY ARE OUTDATED! I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN HER BECOME FAMOUS LIKE THEY SAID SHE AND OTHER 10 GIRLS THAT WERE THERE WOULD. Their founder is Sammy Mack whom many claim to be a pervert!! I saw that when they were in New York they had this blonde girl as their "supposedly" CEO, and now they have Jonathan Krane, whom I'm sure they paid to be part of, and maybe Krane is not aware of this company's criminal background. If you look up the girls they had in NY, none of them are there. I read that they closed their company unexpectedly in NY and went to California. I'm sure many other people realized the kind of company this is and filed lawsuits. That's why they had to leave. BE AWARE BECAUSE DSSE IS A TRUE, AND ONE OF THE BIGGEST SCAMS!!
