Does your Bat warning light stay on or if you have a Voltage gauge what does it read. Was your battery fully charged before you installed your new alternator? Remove alternator and have it tested to besure that it was indeed the problem.

have you checked your fuel pressure because gm products have been suspect to fuel pump failures for a long time if fuel pressure is ok than I would look at a possible cranck sensor. But it could still be alot of other things more info would help

With great difficulty. Especially if you don't want to pull the engine. What I did was roll the car steering up on ramps (to gain access under the car), turn your steering hard to the right as far as it will go.

Take a jack and lift on the p. side sub-frame crossmember to expand the p. side suspension.

You will have to remove the alternator from the brackets and the brackets from the engine block before you can get the alternator out the opening.

Remember to loosen the top adjustment bolt. You access this by going under the hood against the firewall. I know this was hard to get at but a ratchet, extension, u-joint and deep socket worked for me. If you are lucky, you may be able to get a compact air ratchet in there as there isn't much room to ratchet.

After the brackets are removed from the engine and the alternator removed from the brackets, pull the alternator down. This will take some twisting to find the right way but it will work.

Do yourself a favor. When buying a New Alternator have them check it before taking it home? I had a bad incident that I ended up with, 3 bad alternators in one day, 3 different stores. Last store check it before I took it home and everything was good. I ended up changing it 3 times. Make sure they also change the pulley. Alternator Removal & Installation 1. You probably have a bad cell in the battery. Go to a place that can check it with a hydrometer. Autozone, Checker Auto or some place like that. If you have a bad cell you need to replace the battery. It will usually get worse as the weather gets colder. You may also have something that is pulling power from the battery. Glove box, trunk, underhood, light, etc. Had the same problem--I was told to take both terminals from the battery and touch them together for a few seconds (5, I tried) and lo and behold , it worked---no more drained battery.! With the hood open, find the alarm pin switch on the right (passenger) side. On the hood there is a rubber grommet which will activate this pin switch when closing the hood. If this grommet is missing the battery will draw and will drain in several days.
