I have a 2004 Neon and I turn it off by disconnecting the positive battery cable and then turning the ignition key to the "On" position and hold it there for 1 minute.

Place shifter in "park" and it should start. If not you will need to have towed in for repair.

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.

Trouble code P0440 means:Evaporative emission control system malfunction

Turn your ignition key to the ON position without turning on the engine. Check to make sure your trip counter is on "ODO", not on "Trip A" or Trip B". While you press and hold the trip counter, turn the key to the OFF position. Without releasing the trip counter, turn the key to the ON position again without turning on the engine. You should see the odometer reading turn into dashes (---------). Once all the dashes disappear, the "Maintenance Required Light" is reset. You have now fooled your car into thinking that you've changed the oil.

On a TL you need to hold the too trip odometer buttons down(behind you steering wheel on the right) before you start your car and continue holding for about 10 -20 (maybe longer) seconds until the light goes off. It will start to flash, but if you don't wait til it fully goes out it will stay there.

Yes. Va will pass your car with a check engine light. The inspection station will try to get you to figure out what is wrong with you car but they will not fail it. However, If your SRS light is on, the car will fail the inspection.

Something is wrong if the check engine light is on. If the engine is running great then there is no great hurry to get it fixed but there is something wrong with the emissions system or the light would not be on. It is your choice to fix it or not. It may never cause any problems and it could damage the O2 sensors or the converter depending on what is wrong.

Reset the check engine light on a Ford Fusion by disconnecting the battery. On newer cars, once the battery is reconnected, the light will come back on. If this happens, disconnect the battery, turn on the headlights until they go off, draining all the electrical current from the capacitor. Reconnect the battery and the light will go off.

cylinders 3 and 6 are not, "firing properly."90% sure its either those 2 spark pluggs or those 2 spark plug wires.Replace them and if you fixed it the light will go off as long as theres n other codes...(problems).pluggs are cheaper to fix.and u can tell by sight if yheyre good or noyt.Sp Id start there.

Just to the shop for diagnosing and repair ( try not to accelerate briskly ) A blinking check engine light means that a misfire has been detected The vehicle will need to be scanned for any trouble codes to diagnose and then repair the problem . If you were to continue driving and just ignore the blinking check engine light you can cause damage to the catalytic converter which would cost you a lot more money

The fuel filter on Jeep Liberty's (3.6 liter version anyways) is located right inside the gas tank itself. It is an "in tank" filter. Changing it makes for a complicated job since one can only access the top of the fuel tank in two ways: 1) Drop the tank, or 2) pull up the carpet in the trunk cargo area and there should be a section of sheet metal that easily pops out and allows for access. I strongly recommend taking it to the dealer or mechanic on this one, but I get the do-it-yourself urge often myself, so good luck!

If the check engine light is flashing, it has "stored a code" meaning that you should be able to read a diagnostic code to find out what's wrong, that way neither of us will need to guess.

According to the Chrysler "tech connect" tech. help website, P0073 is Ambient air temp sensor high. Likely cause is the sensor itself.

To do this you will need a code reader. You can find them at most auto parts stores. Once it interfaces with the vehicle's computer, you can instruct it to clear the warnings.

The P0300 code means that a cylinder(s) is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks, intake gaskets are a common cause of multi-cylinder misfiring. If no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem.

That would be a good problem to repair even if it's NOT causing the check engine light to come on... but I would suspect yes, depending on the manufacturer.
