How do you Reset check engine light on 1995 beretta?
Resetting a check engine light without making the necessary repairs will do NO good as it will come right back on. You will need a GM Tech1 (or compatible) scantool to retrieve and earse (reset) codes from either a 1994 or 1995 Beretta. This is because GM was in a transitional period between 1993-1996 to comply with the government mandated OBD-II system. The diagnostic components in those years are a combination of OBD-I and OBD-II parts, and cannot be scanned with a standard scantool.
Unfortunately, unless you know someone with such a scantool (GM Tech1, Actron CP9150, etc.), you will need to go to a GM dealer to have your codes reset.

How do you reset check engine light on 2003 jaguar?
Hi. This is dead easy and doesn't need the electronic gizmo a garage uses.
First, undo the earth terminal and the battery, then the live terminal at the battery - be careful not to drop nut or bolt as it is a devil to find them ;-).
Second, hold the live and earth terminals (the cables not battery terminals) together for 10 to 15 seconds
Third, reconnect terminals to the battery
This resets the onboard diagnostics computer (OBDC) and wipes any errors from the memory. In the process, it turns off the engine warning light.
Just one point to consider. Reseting the OBDC wipes out all error messages, so if you have had other problems that would be picked up by a garage doing maintenance, there will be no record until the ODBC has rerun its checks, which could be up to 1000 miles.
This tip was given to me by an ex-Jaguar senior technician and helped when my LPG conversion kept upsetting the car ECU.
Could a flat tire make the check engine light go on a 02 cavalier?
The check engine light (service engine soon) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to AutoZone or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area.
The first thing I would check would be the grounds since it is the cheapest and most common problem that sounds like this, you should have three grounds if I remember correctly, one between the transmission? and the body, one on the wiring harness that should go to your thermostat and a third that goes from your valve cover to the body.
The second thing I would check would be your plug wires, for some reason the boots tend to melt once and a while, if the look good try spraying them with wd40 and see if the idle changes. If you find damage with the plus wires replace all of them now with oem wires since aftermarket ones tend to create a whole new mess of problems.
Try looking at the car in the dark and maybe you will notice something arcing, if you do repair the short. If you can try and borrow a friends distributor and see if that fixes it, you may need an ignitor, but it can be tricky to get a distributor apart the first couple times you try it.

Had this problem or a similar one, you can first start by going under the vehicle on the driver's side, right where the seam is between the front and back door. As you look up you will see what looks like a pump. ( leak detection pump) On one side you will see a thick hose and on the others side going up a smaller one, check to see that the smaller one does not have any cracks on it, if it does, this could be your problem. You can wrap it with electrical tape to test it. I would reset my engine light and come back a few days later, until I found these cracks. I wrapped it with tape and after resetting engine light again, no more problem. Would advise to check all the rubber hoses in this area. Used a OBD2 code reader to read code and reset. good luck..
