Hazard lights are usually controlled by a manual switch [Push-ON, Push a 2nd time-OFF]. This is true whether the key, or engine, is on or off. The situation you describe suggests that you have inadvertantly engaged the hazard flasher switch [usually located on the steering column just below the steering wheel].

There is a problem that is emission related. Take it to an independent garage that is skillful in troubleshooting. If you wait too long you can create more problems not to mention may start losing fuel economy. Also, some cars will automatically turn check engine light on after certain mileage (typically 60k and 120k). The Maintainence Required light came on in my 1998 Acura Integra GS and a mechanic told me to try holding the trip mileage reset button in and then turning key into on position. I have not tried this yet. However, you should do general maintainence after recommended mileage or time (belts, spark plugs, fluids, etc.), but that does not always require a mechanic. It could be a bad Oxygen (O2) sensor, particularly if it is associated with your car running too rich and a drop in your fuel mileage. You can actually find out the fault by jumping out a service check connector. If you pick up a haynes manual (most auto parts stores have them)it will tell you how to do it in chapter 6.

Unplug the battery for 15 mins will reset the check engine light, but watch will reset all your sensors to. Personal experience it will not read for at least 100 miles, so dont do it when you need an inspection

You need to keep tabs on your oil every time you gas up, if it was in fact, 'low on the stick'. If it was not low, I would disconnect the ground cable on the battery to reboot your computer and clear codes. If it comes on again, it will be one of two things: the oil sender is bad(most likely and most common) or your oil pressure is low.If the engine runs quietly, it is probably the sender.Have it replaced.

You can take your vehicle to any Autozone and they will hook it up to the computer and tell you what your ECM has for an error code. IF the ECM or PCM on the vehicle has the problem replaced. The ECM or PCM needs to be reset. Once reset and if the light comes back on, you did not replace the correct part.

Im not sure what sort of diagnostic port this vehicle would have, if any. Todays OBD (on board diagnostics) are all designed to be accesible to the driver whilst in the drivers seat, although yours probably wasnt built with this standard practice in effect.Some vehicles diagnostic port tends to be near to the fuse/relay box.

Was the car actually running hot? Is there water in the oil? You could have a weak head gasket that starts to lek under driving conditions. Get it in the shop before you crack a head. If the car is running hot, does it over heat while driving or will it overheat at a stop? If it does it will driving, check your trans fluid. About half of nuisance overheating can be traced back to the trans fluid cooler in the radiator.

First you must fix the problem that caused the light to be set. You can try to reset the light by disconnecting the negative battery cable for five minutes. If that does not work you will need an 0BD2 scanner in order to reset the light.

Code 113 is a fuel injector fault code

i had a car in the shop here last week with that problem and it turned out to be a cracked vacumn hose. I lifted the hood and could hear the hissing sound from the vacumn leak . The crack was in the 90 degree bent hose connected to the PCV valve.

This was a GM vehicle with the 3400 engine.
