Your question seems a little vague, but heres what should happen when you first put the key in and turn it to the run position (or just after you have started it), pretty much every light on the dash will come on, just as a test of the bulb. That way you know that the bulb is working, so if you do have a problem you can fix it. The flash is just testing the bulb and drawing attention to itself. Re-set? There is a problem that needs to be addresed. This car has OBDII. If there is no problem it will shut off on it's own. Get it to a Independent garage that knows Diagnosing. One common problem I have seen is a loose gas cap, but don' bet on it.

easiest way to reset the stored codes is to disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes... both terminals... just in case...fire it back up and it should be good to go with no warning lights on unless there is a defeinate problem

you should be able to clear it by removing the negative battery terminal for a minute or so. though hopefully you have repaired the problem that caused the light to turn on in the first place!

It is risky fooling with the dash lights as the circuits can be damaged with static electricity. I suggest taking to a garage.

How ever, you can get a static electricity band to prevent that from happening. Most parts stores, such as Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts and O'Reillys all have the bulbs for you dash indicator lights and a good book like a Chiltons will tell you how to remove the dash.

you probably have plugged egr ports . it forces the # 4 cylinder to eat all of the recirc gases thus a # 4 clylider miss fire. mine was easy to clean , it has 4 pipe pluge on the egr manifold that are in line with the ports that go into the cylinder DAN

There is a fuse you can remove but if you do not have a service manual to ID the fuse I would not recommend this. The easy way is to go to your nearest autozone and tell them your check engine light is on, the employee will hook up the hand computer to read the code. After he reads the code tell him that you want he to clear the code from your on board computer.

In the 2001 ACURA user manual it states that it takes three drive trips to reset the check engine light and if it comes on repeatedly it should be checked. as for the SRS light it could be reset by shorting the system but not recommended I did it a few times and it could damage the engine timing control, car will run a high RPM lights will not work on your info pannel ect.

Try going up one grade in fuel octane

You need to have the code read. Even if the light goes out the code will stay around a few on-off cycles after. Any good auto store will usually do this for free. It sounds like a bad knock sensor, but you need to have the code read to know for sure. Good luck.

Disconnect the ground wire under hood right side (passenger) 15mm nut holding cable to stud on strut tower. if there is a active condition fault, the light will come back on. Autozone will read your codes for free.

Most legitimate codes will stay on even after you try disconnecting the negative battery cable, or you cycle the ignition switch 5-7 times. This can happen if the chip in your key is bad ( Even if everything else works fine) It will try your patience and will sometimes mimic an exhaust leak code or a code that leads to a bad seal in your gas cap. If your lucky to find an extra key as I did that slid in between the shifter console consider your self Lucky or Else you will have to purchase one at the Dealership.

It is a common problem and its due to having too much weight on the Key ring which will cause premature ignition switch failure and also cause the casing of the microchip to crack , causing failure of the Key Chip itself.

P.S. Storing coins in your ashtray is a bad idea, They can fall out and in between the shifter console and keep your shifter half engaged causing MAJOR Transmission Damage costing 4,500, been there didn't Like The Price to replace it.
