Why does your low coolant light stay on?

Check low coolant sensor. Aslo, I have found that the sensor requires the "slipperiness" of a proper coolant/water mix...too much water and the sensor will stick. ==New answer headline== Also make sure you are using the right coolant. On my 97, the light will only go off if i use Dex-cool. anything else and it will stay on.

How do you change the serpentine belt on a Chevy Beretta?

Caveat: You may prefer to have this procedure done professionally, but if you're strapped for cash this how you can do it. first you will need a jack, a block of wood, a length of rope, and a good socket set with extender and deep well sockets. Jack your beretta up, take of the passenger front wheel and remove the lower right shroud under your wheel well...this will expose the tensioner pulley which is impossible to get to otherwise. place your tire on its side underneath your car which u can use as a jackstand if you need to (i did). Next you will have to put the jack under your motor with the wood block to increase its surface area and also protect your engine from damage. once you are supporting the engine from underneath, you will need to remove the engine mount on the left side of the engine. there are around 10 bolts to remove this. once done you will now need to pull your engine forward. you can just grab it and pull really hard and it will rock ( do NOT rock your car of the jack ) i took a rope and with one guy leaning the engine forward i tied the rope from the hook on top of the engine to a nearby chainlink fence which i tied it off too and it held it just fine. With the engine in place now you must all but remove your alternator. once this is done it is now possible to get the belt on although it will take 2 guys one to loosen and push on the tensioner pulley the other to pull on the belt and get it in place while the first guy releases the tension on the belt. once you have it in place tighten your tensioner pulley back up, tighten your alternator back on, and slowly let your engine loose to its original position. now you will have to pull it forward by hand once you have reassembled your mounting bracket and bolt it back in place. let the jack down off your engine. replace the shroud under your wheel.jack up your car so you can put your tire back on. replace the wheel, let her down and start her up! chances are you are now beat down and upset, but your car works fine. this procedure is difficult, trying, and time consuming. Chevy Berettas are good cars but when you stick a huge engine in a little car body this is what you get. My serpentine belt was original to the car and lasted approximately 120,000 miles before it split and shredded without warning. For the record this engine is also found on Chevy Luminas, Olds Cutlass Supremes, and Pontiac Grand Prixs and are designed to be serviced by the dealer and to be next to impossible to get any work done easily on. thank the powers that be that they are pretty reliable. GOOD LUCK. A shop quoted me at $90 to fix this. if you have the money, DO IT! if not then do this. it worked for me. You don't NEED to do the above. Just use a crowbar and stretch the belt on against the alternator. The tensioner will move with the pressure created. It takes about 2 minutes doing it this way. This answer is for the 2.2l 4 cyl. engine. TO ANSWER this you need to be clear on what engine you have... Both answers above have some merit. If it is a Beretta with the 3.1 ltr (M) engine you need to support the motor from under and remove the engine mount bracket. If not and you have the 3.1ltr (T) engine you can use normal procedures ( you might have to remove a belt guard on some models) but just by using the tensioner pully you can remove the belt and put one on. The Vin (M) engine is a pain.

What is the easiest way to replace the heater core in 1995 Chevrolet Beretta?

Very awkward and messy. Start by removing the panel under the dash on the passenger side. You will need a regular Phillips screwdriver and a snubby 2-3" Phillips later. Also get a 1/4" socket set. First thing, go under the car and remove the heater hoses from the firewall and twist out the drain spiggot. Then go back inside the car. The heater core sits under the radio. Under the core is a tray used to catch the leaking antifreeze and drain it out the firewall. You need to remove this tray. It has 6-8 screws holding it. Once the screws are out it is tricky removing it with the center console in, but it can be done-twist and bend. Then remove the screws holding the core in place and pull out the heater core. One note on the replacement-got mine from Oreilly's for $20-the two lines coming out of the heater core swivel to line up with the holes through the firewall. If you don't swivel them it will never seem to fit. Then reverse the above order, fill up the fluid, bleed the air off and away you go. Took me about 3 hours total in a parking lot. Ruined a shirt, but got it done. You will also cuss being upside down under the dash. It's a small place for a 240 lb. guy :) This was for a 1993 Beretta. Expect some bloody knuckles and a few mental breakdowns

Where is the fuel filter located on a 1996 Chevy Beretta?

I have a 1996 Chevy Beretta Base and I believe that I know the anser to your question. The fuel fitlter should be on the underside of your car and on the passenger's side. It will not be far from the oil tank it's self. Actually, It should be just a little more foreward and to the passenger's side. The filter should be positioned with threads pointing straight up. I hope that this helps.

Answercorrection on that......normally in all the berettas i have seen and i have one myself is that the fuel filter is located in the rear of the car, near the gas tank. it is a small cylinder type object that is coming off your intake gas line from the tank. if you look under the car in the back your should see it. Chevy didn't change a whole lot in these cars, and it's unlikely they changed changed that. but look under the rear of your car and it should a kinda silverish color cylinder.

There is a rubber hose on the firewall near the heater core that bends down and isn't hooked up to anything It is leaking rad fluid badly What does this tube do?

This is for the condensation from the AC system to drain. What is happening in your case is that the heater core is leaking and radiator fluid is draining out the AC condensation drain.

Why is oil pressure gauge reading off the chart since changing the oil pressure sensor on 1993 Chevy Beretta?

Either the wrong or bad sensor, or your oil pump is blown out, and you should not be driving the vehicle. Technically, if the oil pump is bad, the vehicle has a safety shut off type of deal to keep you from damaging the motor.

How do you drain the power steering fluid on a 1995 Chevy Beretta?

Why does a 1992 Chevrolet Beretta air filter have oil in it?

It is caused from excessive engine blowby. You need to find a shop that is very familar with the PCV system. If the engine is Not pulling in fresh air then pressure will build up and it is blown into the air cleaner. Edit by Loosenut: You need to replace the PCV Valve a five dollar part takes five minutes to change without any tools... By replacing the PCV valve and not ensuring the engine is pulling in fresh air does no good other (then) spend your $5.00. Purchase a Haynes Manual and it will explain how the system works. Re-edit by Loosenut: What do you know about manuals? they are just that a manual. they dont explain, injector timing or pulse timing, they just explain what to look for, not what not to look for, just change your PCV valve and you will be ok...... Read my bio page and you will see what I know. I do this for a living and steer people in the right direction for repairs and NOT parts replacement. A repair saves money.

Why would a 1992 Chevy Beretta have water standing in rear driver side floorboard?

The rubber seal on the door has a crack, or an area where it it not effectively sealing, and when water from rain rolls down from the top of the car it is following the track of the seal, down into the inside of the car. The ONLY resolve for this I have found is to replace that rubber seal.

How do you tell if the fuel injectors are bad?

Use a temperature checking device on the exhaust ports or pipes after you have ran the engine (about 5 minute's) to identify the cylinder in question, It will be cooler. If the injector is electrically activated use a noid light or volt meter to check the signal at the connector to the injector. It is a pulsed signal.

How do you repair a door hinge on a 1989 Chevy Beretta?

Buy a new hinge from the dealership it should cost about 20 - 25 dollars. you will get the upper and lower hinge for either the driver or passenger door. there are only four bolts holding each hinge on . use a marker to mark where the old hinge was then take off the old one. you can do this with the door being ajar but i am told that it is easier with the front fender off. it will probablly take two people to do this. I would also suggest that you purchase the haynes manual for the car they are very useful.

Where do you add freon to a 1991 Chevy Beretta?

You don't add freon to vehicles. You add R134a refrigerant.

On the other hand, you have a 1991 model, equipped from the factory with R12. If it has not been retrofitted yet, you will need to do so first. It is illegal in most states to expel refrigerant into the air, so you will need to bring your vehicle to a service shop and have them properly evacuate the system before retrofitting it to use R134a. Only then can it be refilled. It may be costly at first, but once done you can buy a recharge kit from most stores and fill it yourself.

If you've already been retrofitted to R134a, attach the recharge kit to the valve under the blue cap on the lower front of the vehicle, between the engine and radiator.
