Where is the Knock Sensor located on a 1999 Chevy Z71 and how do you change it?
If it is a 5.3 liter engine, the Knock sensors are located under the intake manifold, when you get the intake manifold pulled off you should see a silver colored pan between the cylender heads, there will be two rubber gromments, pull them up and use a 22mm socket to get them out, and make sure you change the knock sensor wiring harness when you change the knock sensors, it ain't but $23.00 extra to do the job right, don't be a tight wad.

Why do the headlights seem so dim on a 2000 TC?
The most common cause for dim headlights is a bad ground connection. Headlights draw a relatively large amount of current. Any loose or corroded connection in the circuit will drop a large amount of voltage, which doesn't leave enough for the headlights to operate properly.

How do you change the freeze plugs on the back of a Chevrolet engine block?
Separate the engine from the transmission. Removing flywheel or ring gear might be necessary for access. You can usually use a hammer and punch to tip the plug in it's hole and pull it out with pliers. When installing the new plugs, a small amount of permatex or shellac compound will insure against leaks.

How do you Replace dip stick tube on transmission 2001 Chevy blazer?
If you get a light and lay down under the truck where the tube goes into the transmission and follow the tube where it runs up the back of the engine and way up towards the middle of the tube where it's hard to see, you will see one nut on a bell housing stud just below the head. You will need to remove that nut off of the tube bracket and then pull the tube out of the transmission and then work and turn the tube until it comes out. Trickey to get out. The NUT size is 13mm. There is a o-ring on the end of the tube where it goes into the transmission. Replace it.

How can you repair a slight crack in your radiator?
barrs stop leak will work on most smaller holes and cracks if you can not find that you could try silver stopper also found at most part stores
If you can see the crack, you could use some fine sandpaper (when it's cool) and sand down the area to be patched, then wipe it clean, and apply some 'quicksteel' compound- found at most hardware or auto supply stores. JB weld works well, too. Ideally, since quicksteel sets fast, put this on first, wait an hour, then apply a thin coat of JB weld on top, and let it sit overnight before driving. You may even put some stop leak fluid for good measure.
Why would your signal flasher keep clicking even after the signal has been turned off?
replace the mutifunction switch
I have a '98 C1500, and it does the same thing. Diagnosis: Multi Function switch. What I want to add: Your vehicle, like mine, has an air bag. Unless you know the proper procedures involved in working around them, do yourself a favor and take it to a shop. It is not worth the risk to save a few bucks. This is at most a 2 hour repair, $60-$120 labor, plus the part. My $.02.
I have the same problem with my 98 Blazer yes it does seem to be the MF switch (Multi- Function) and yes better off to have a shop do it for you.

Key stuck in ignition on your 406 Help please?
just had the same problem and it seams that it is the ignition switch behind the barrel but i am trying to find someone who knows where the relese pin is and in which position the key has to be in
There is no specific position where the key has to be.... It all happens when you switch off the car in turning position of the wheel. When ever you feel you are trying to ignit switch and looks like, it is lock or you are unalble to turn the switch on.... only turn your wheel and try again. That's it. Your key will be released enabling you to turn the key in order to ingnition...
How do you install a super pro tachometer on a 1991 Chevy blazer?
there should be a screw on the back of your tach, remove screw and cover careful not to pull the wires. there should be a switch labled 4,6,8 for number of cylenders. put it on six if that's what you have. red wire goes to switched 12v (best bet is on yourr fuse panel), white wire goes to instrument cluster light switch, black is obviously ground, and the green wire goes to your coil. if your blazer has the 4.3 your coil should have two harneses each with two wires. one set of wires, red and white(closest to the firewall) goes to your distrubuter. the other harnes should have a red wire and a white or tan wire. the white wire farthest from your firewall (on the right side of the coil) is where you should connect your green wire. hope this helps
Why does the check gauges light come on only sometimes on a 2002 trail blazer?
It could be a problem that is showing up intermittently. Most of those types of problems are stored in the computer, so you could probably borrow, rent or buy an OBD2 code scanner that would tell you what's going on. Check with your local auto parts retailer. They can often give you a little assistance on those types of issues, especially if you could go in during an off-peak time. Good luck.
The number one reason the "Check Guages" light comes on is for you to check the guages. It is almost always because your temperature guage is reading really high and when you start off,the temp goes down and the light goes out. Another is the oil pressure guage. If it goes low while ideling such as at a stop light, the "Check Guages" light comes on and goes out when you start off again and the oil pressure goes up.
