2003 Malibu 3.1 engine oil in the coolant tank what could be the problem?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, the most probable cause would be a blown head gasket. Has the engine ever been overheated at any point? This will usually cause this problem. The mechanic should carefully look over the engine block to make sure there are no cracks in the cylinder walls, and check the cylinder head for cracks and warpage. The head gasket seats between the block and the head. There are 2 heads on your engine. If the block is cracked, then you will need a short block, and recommend rebuilt heads as well. Make sure they look it over really good, and I also recommend a new radiator cap, and thermostat. This is the most common cause of overheating.
it could also be bad intake gaskets on the 3.1, I had the same problem with oil in coolant, so I changed intake gaskets, flushed out system, put in new thermotat that was 3 months ago, and the car is still fine. no more oil in coolant!!
Honda Man's AnswerIntake gaskets on the 3.1 and 3.4 GM engines are the primary cause of coolant in the oil (just did my brother's today). He didn't overheat his so the head gaskets were ok. Had to change the oil three times before stopped looking like choclate milk. Used the LIS48500 Push rod tool to make the job easier.

4th gen camaro gas gauges just suck. they are all like that and there is nothing you can really do to improve the problem. the full tank mark is closer to actually being only a half full. the half mark is actually about a quarter of a tank left.

Yes it depends on the year and make ! You will need to check All Data or the shop manual for your make & model, There are a lot of manual transmissions that use ATF As far as using ATF instead of gear oil, No Do Not, Use only the factory rec-amended lubricant!

im pretty sure you would put the new chip in the ECU which is most likely located underneath the wooden pad and carpet underneath the glove box on the passenger side.
- also, you will need to take your vehicle to some sort of a performance shop because the chip will need to be saughtered where the stock chip was located. be careful when taking the screws off the actual computer inside the gold box. the computer is very sensitive and parts are easily knocked off. I'd say the the whole thing wont take any longer then an hour, and about $60 for the saughtering.

Not without heavy modifications. The 3.1 uses a different sized bellhousing for the transmission. The computer & wire harness will need to be changed, motor mount locations, suspension springs for the added weight, larger radiator, transmission, etc etc..

Locate and pull the fuse for the fuel pump. Crank the engine for 5-10 seconds. No more fuel pressure.

The 86 has 2 fan relays, one, the hard to find one is located on the passenger side of the camaro engine, near the bottom, you will have to jack it up to get to it. The other is near the top, same side, follow the wires .

It doesn't have to be exact, but you would start out at around 25-30 for the first pass, 45-50 for the second, and do the third pass at spec.

engine swaps are really quite simple. all you need is the new engine, proper motor mounts, probably a different transmission (the 350 in passenger cars usually is an automatic transmission, i had problems with my 87 camaro sport on this) and if you get really unlucky, you may need to get a different driveline (im not sure if the one in the newer camaro is the proper length, someone else might know). just make sure to get all your electronics connected properly, and you may have a problem with the speedometer unless you get a transmission with an electrical speedometer connection.
