Warning indicators like a charging system indicator are not something that are "reset." If you have a indicator light that is on, that is a warning light. It's telling you something is wrong, in this case, it is saying that something is wrong with the charging system. It will go out when you get the problem fixed. Likely, you have an generator that is not charging or not charging well enough. If you don't get it fixed, it could leave you stranded somewhere.

How do you change a starter on a 2002 VW Jetta VR6?

First step to doing mechanics is to disconect the battery!!!! get a nich jack with a rubber pad on it, a michelin 3.2 tone one is perfect. jack the engine under the oil pan (is the piece right under the engine in between the engine and the transaxl. Jacking up the engine is to relieve the weight off the engine mounts, because the starter motor has 3 bolts. 2 of the bolts go threw the engine and into the engine mount. after the engine is supported you can start by unbolting the wire guide and then unplug the wire and the ground wire. now you can start on the first engine support bolt. then you will have to get under the car... be careful make sure your with someone and you are doing everyhing safe. while the engine is still supported you have to unscrew the last 2 bolts. slide the starter out of the assembly and then slide the new one in. now put bolt all 3 bolts backin lose then one they are all in tighten them all. If the bolts don't seem to be going in then you will have to slowly raise the engine or lower it till the bolt matched the engine support bracket. do everything in reverse order and then your starter is good to go!!!!!! Check to make sure this matches your model ov vw. this is for a mk3 jetta gls

How do you set the dash clock in your 2004 dodge durango?

First familiarize yourself with the radio. There are two large knobs on each side of the radio. The knob on the left turns the radio on and off and increases volume. The large knob on the right is the tuner to manually change radio stations. Above the radio are seven buttons that mostly have to do with the CD player, but the sixth button controls your clock. Okay here we go: Turn your radio on! Push and hold the "time" button until the hour light blinks. Now turn the tuner button until you get to the proper hour you want to set. Next PUSH IN on the tuner button again and your minutes will flash. Now turn the tuner knob until you get to the desired minute. Voila! You are now done....

How do you change the starter on a 1996 Saturn?

Disconnect the battery from the car. Raise the car and support as you will be working underneath the entire time. The starter is on the back side of the engine bolted into the transmission with two bolts. The bolts are the same size, the front bolt is easy, the back bolt is easy to remove with a 3/8" drive wratchet with a 4-6" extension. Putting it back in is a trick. Unbolt the starter and pull out of the transmission. Undo both bolts holding the wiring on than remount the wiring to the new starter. Put it back in place and put in the bottom bolt first, bring it up close to snug but allow yourself some play to move the starter for the top bolt. Take your wratchet and extension and put a good glob of grease into the socket than insert the head of the top bolt. The grease will allow you to keep the bolt in but still allow you to pull the socket off when completed. Slide it behind and feel for the hole, than move the starter slightly until you catch a thread. Tighten it all up than reconnect your battery and your good to go.

How do you tighten serpentine belt on a 2004 Chevy Colorado?

You can't. ALL serpentine belts have an auto tension pulley. If your belt "squeaks" - time to replace your belt. Side note: after so many thousand miles the auto tension pulley should also be replaced because the bearings are worn and will literally fly off shredding your belt. Your dealer/auto repair specialist SHOULD know when to do this for each vehicle model.

How do you change the starter on Colorado 04?

replacing the starter in a colorado is an involved project, the starter is located under the intake manifold. for a novice mechanic it might take 8-12 hours depending on your tools and ability, i am a gm certified mechanic and it took me 5 hours to replace the first one i did. you have the remove the negative side of your battery (so there is no shock potential) put the drivers side of the truck up on a jack stand and remove the inner fender. then start removing the intake hoses to the throttle body all electrical connections and plastic wire loom holders. the alternator and idler pulley need to be taken out, then remove the bolts holding the air compressor on and slide it to the front. the intake manifold will also need to be removed (dont worry about the bolts falling out, they are made in to the manifold). there are a few misc. brackets i may have left out but you should always have a manual when working on a vehicle (sold at local auto parts store for around $5) good luck, take your time, if you get frustrated it is best to walk away for a few minutes and clear your head, J.D.
