Why does an 89 corvette crank long when cold?
If you are meaning that you are having to spin the starter longer to get it to crank on a cold morning then more than likely the coolant temperature sensor needs to be replaced. There are two sensors relating to the temperature of the engine. One gives a signal for the guage and the other for the computer. The one for the computer should be right beside the thermostat housing. It is what tells the computer that it is cold and the computer adjusts your fuel for a cold start.
You must have the key inserted and in the "on" position to move the gearshift. Check this first!!! Might be a bad clutch cable as well.
THERE IS WATER IN YOUR TANK. IT FLOATS ON TOP OF FUEL. WHEN THE TANK LOWERS, WATER STARTS TO ENTER FUEL LINES AND CAUSES PROBLENS.

YOU NEED TO CRAWL INTO THE TRUNK FROM THE INSIDE. AT THE CENTER OF THE GLASS WHERE THE GLASS LATCHES, THERE IS A 4" CABLE TUCKED IN TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THAT IS THE MANUAL RELAESE CABLE. PULL IT.

Some coils are also coated to prevent corrosion and it is usually a little oily. This could also be what is on the windshield. If it is that, it will stop.

Where is the fuel pump for a 1984 corvette?
The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank, attached to the fuel gage sending unit, and may be serviced separately. Access is through the fuel filler door in the body.
Replacement proceedure1. Disconnect battery ground cable.2. Remove fuel filler door.
3. Remove fuel cap.
4. Remove the rubber fuel tank filler neck housing and disconnect drain hose.
5. Remove screws attaching fuel meter/fuel pump to tank.
6. Disconnect fuel lines, fuel vapor line and electrical connector.
7. Remove fuel meter/fuel pump and gasket.
8. Replace fuel pump.
9. Install replacement unit in reverse order.

Pretty much any wheel will fit on any car unless the wheel takes 5 bolts and the car takes 6
^ That's not true, the rims off of my 83 GMC pick-up wont fit on my 89 Camaro and they are both 5 bolt. It all depends on bolt pattern, the GMC is a 5 x 5 1/2 and the Camaro is a 5 x 4 3/4 all that means is that it is a 5 hole with a 4 3/4" diameter around the holes. So if the 07 Vette rims have the same bolt pattern as the 88 then it will fit but i believe the spacing is a little different.

Look in your fuse panel on the passenger's side...it requires a 3 amp fuse and it controls both the power mirrors and cruise control. I just replaced on on my 90 Vette, now both work fine.
