First you need to determine what is causing the to the oil loss. Is it leaking and if so determine from where and repair it. If there is no leakage then take the hose off of the PCV valve and look inside. Is it damp with oil? It should be dry. You need to be sure that the system is working properly. Hearing a PCV valve rattle does Not mean it is doing it's job/ The valve should be pulling fresh air in from the valve cover or air filter area. If all of this checks out then you can do a wet and dru compression test to determine if you have a ring problem. If that is the case then you will be looking at a rebuild job on the engine.

what was said maybe true but i have a 99 prizm and every 600 miles you gotta add a quart of oil. don't ask me why its the way the car is made. i took everything a apart, and nothing was wrong, took it to the dealrship still nothing wrong. and if that is ur only problem i wouldn't worrie about it. i have had mine for 4 years putting 1900 miles on it a month, and i have never had anything break. and during the 4years the was totaled, ditched 2 times, rear ended, and drove threw a flood to where the water was coming in the doors. and still nothing wrong. why do i keep fixing it? cuz its a solid car with 162956 miles. but yah if that's ur olny problem don't worrie about it just every other week check your oil and youll be good.

You need a special strut spring compression tool. Very very difficult to do it by yourself, unless you have this tool. Getting the struts off is not too hard, putting the new strut in is the hard part.

On average for that car its going to cost you between 800-900 for the job. It is a fairly easy job on the prizm despite what the mechanic will tell you. If you have any friends or family at all mechanically inclined the clutch kit costs about 150 and you would just take the flywheel to a machine shop to be resurfaced for another 20. The job shouldn't take longer than 3 hours.

In my case it ended up to be a dirty fuel filter. Unfortunately, the fuel filter is inside the fuel tank.

it sounds most likeky to be a broken transmission mount. they cost around $20 in a parts store. You may have a broken transmission or exhaust bracket.

The evaporator canister is only used for the AC system. If there has been a failure in the compressor, you need to change the orifaces found inside the condensor line. and probably the evaporator too. You need to have the system flushed to get small particles out of the system that will cause damage to other components and/or shorten the life span of the components that you just replaced.

the Chevy prizm doesn't have a timing belt it has a timing chain. it doesn't need to be changed unless you hear something or 150k miles.

The short answer is that it is in the same place it would be if you do have an owner's manual! The longer answer is that it is under the hood on the firewall, almost directly in front of the steering wheel. To check the brake fluid level, view the marks on the side of the reservoir, which is clear. If needed, brake fluid can be added through the lid on top. Be sure to wipe off the lid and the area surrounding the lid with a clean cloth before removing the lid. This keeps dirt out of the brake fluid.

yes if the gas cap wasn't on properly then the change in pressure would set off a sensor.

put the cap on right or replace it and if the check engine goes away after a few days that was your problem

Setting the time on the Chevy Prizm is tricky. The Prizm's manual says to change the clock using two buttons labeled HR and MN -- presumably for HOUR and MINUTE. Unfortunately, these two buttons are not identified in the manual and are not labeled on the radio. The two HOUR and MINUTE buttons are the two buttons located at the lower right of the radio control panel. These two buttons are labeled with DOWN and UP arrows. ---------------------- To change the MINUTES: ---------------------- Push and hold the UP ARROW button for a couple of seconds. The minutes on the clock will begin to increment slowly. Keep holding down the button until the correct minute is reached. When the minutes reach 59 they wrap around to 0 and then keep on incrementing. ---------------------- To change the HOURS: ---------------------- Push and hold the DOWN ARROW button for a couple of seconds. The hours on the clock will begin to increment slowly. Keep holding down the button until the correct hour is reached. When the hours reach 12 they wrap around to 1 and then keep on incrementing. ---------------------- TIPS ---------------------- TIP: you don't have to turn on the car to change the time. TIP: once you get close to your desired hour or minute, you can stop holding down the button, and instead, start pressing it repeatedly. This gives you more control over setting the hour or minute, and it helps you avoid going past your desired time. TIP: when you go past the time you want, it is tempting to press the down arrow to go back. This doesn't work. The DOWN arrow only increases the hour and the UP arrow only increases the minute. You have to continue pressing the hour or minute button until the hour or minute wraps all the way around and comes back to the time you want.

I also have a 99 prizm with a blinking air bag light. It started blinking in 2003. Took it to the dealer and they told me it was the SRS module and replaced it for almost $1500 bucks (dealer covered charges). 1 month later, started blinking again. took it back and dealer said it MAY BE the air bag solonoid on the passanger side. This would cost me $900 dollars to replace as that was not covered by warranty. I asked if that was for sure the problem. They responded that it was merely the next step in the flowchart. The SRS module was first, then solonoids, then airbags etc. This could potentially go on infinitum. Hence, You can take a chance and ignore it like I have, or go down the expensive rabbit hole chasing a cure for what is probably a Chevy/Toyota fantom problem. I also have a 99 Prizm, and mine blinks, too! I have no idea why. It stopped a few months ago and has stayed off, but I'm sure it will come back eventually. Good luck! You are dealing with a primary safety device in your vehicle. A device that can save your life. The SRS is not a system that can be worked on by a novice. Serious injury can occur if you do something wrong. The flashing light is an indication that something is wrong with the system. Take the car to you local GM dealer and have it repaired by a pro ASAP. Your life or a family members life may depend on it.

the LS is the basic model. the LT is a more advanced model with more features, and black plastic on the lower part of the bumpers and on the side of the doors. the LTZ is even more advanced model with more features, and a 2 tone paint job "though I'm not quite positive if this was standard or if it was simply an option"

In all probability the air bag clock spring is defective.

If you take off the passenger door panel, you will see, on the locking mechanism, a code to make a new key for your car. The ignition key and trunk key will be the same (unless the 90 is different from the 91, which I have) and a dealership or well-equipped locksmith can cut you a new key with the code.
