How do you change the headlights of a 94 Chrysler LeBaron?
I just did this and it's relatively easy, once you remove the 4 bolts that hold the headlight assembly into the chassis frame.
For example, to remove the left front headlight;
It takes a 9006 low beam bulb, OEM is 51 watts If you buy a halogen upgrade, it will be a 55 watt bulb I don't know if you can put a super xenon bulb in there, it may harm the harness, I don't know so don't rely on me for that...
Lift the hood Get a socket head wrench and some SAE (standard) sockets. Find the socket that fits the bolt head just above the headlight. I think it is a 3/8's or slightly larger.
There are 4 bolts screwed through the frame into the top of the headlamp assembly. The bolts on each end of the headlight are longer and go all the way through the assembly to align it properly.
Lay each bolt out, on the ground in the order you removed them. The middle two bolts are short, maybe 1 " and the ends are closer to 3.5" long.
Once the bolts are out, slide the headlight assembly forward. There are two bulbs, a high and low beam. The low beam bulb is to the outside of the car, or drivers side on the left, farthest to the passenger side on the right.
Most of the time the low beam will burn out since it's used 90% of the time.
The bulb has a right angle fitting with a wiring harness attached. With your hand or a channel lock pair of pliers, gradually rotate the light bulb base counter clockwise until the unit is loose in the socket holder.
Disconnect the bulb from the wiring harness and replace it with the new bulb.
Reverse the process and turn on the headlights to check you have the bulb harness properly attached before finishing up the reassembly of the 4 bolts.
Your bulb alignment with the ground should not have changed from this work. Have fun...not difficult. Takes about 10 minutes per bulb.
How do you replace the headlight bulb located on a Chrysler Lebaron?
Depends on the year, but on mine there are 2 large bolts above each headlight housing on the top sill of the front of the car where the hood closes over them. They look like they would hold the sill to the car, but they hold a large metal headlight assembly. Remove the 2 bolts, the housing will slide forward and then you can remove the bulbs.
A serpentine belt diagram for 78 Chrysler lebaron?
A 78 Lebaron does not have a serpentine belt. It has Separate belts for the alternator, power steering, AC/Water pump and Smog Pump.
Have a rebuilt trans installed/
BEFORE you replace the tranmission, go to your Chrysler dealer and let him read out the transmission error codes. It could be "only" the solenoid valve block, that has errors or maybe the TCM transmission control module is faulty. You will find boht parts (solenoid and TCM) in eBay for a few bucks
-> if it only works in 3rd gear, the tranny has not to be replaced. Maybe the selector wires are blocked or unhooked, first check this an try to oil them a bit. Otherwise, the Solenoid and/or the Filters are blocked with sticky, old tranny oil (ATF) then first unplug the battery for at least 12 hours (to reset the TCMs settings), remove the Transmission solenoid at the front side of the transmission, at the front side of the car (4 long screws) and 1 electric connectior. clean the solenoid in petrol or with using a lot of WD40, specially clean the 8 little oil seaves specially, rebuild all and in 90 % of all cases, the tranny will work again for the next 100000 miles or so, unless everything gets sticky again.
The best is to replace the replaceable part of the 9 Litres of Transmission fluid (only ATF+3 or similar, never, NEVER use Dexron)), you will only be able to replace about 4-5 Litres, and do not forget to replace the Transmission fluid Filter below the Tranny
The Chrysler A604/41TE (and newer) transmissions are much much much better than their reputation and I know many of them working up to 500000 kms / over 300000 miles without any problems.
There is a safety switch that keeps you from accidentally shifting from park. You're supposed to press the brake pedal to release the Park Lock. If the brake pedal sensor switch is adjusted wrong it won't release the park lock. If the connectors to the release are faulty or disconnected, the park lock won't release. You may have accidentally knocked a wire loose when you replaced the motor mounts.

Hi, assuming your Lebaron has the 3.0 engine, the pcv valve is located right behind the valve cover that faces you looking at the engine. It's toward the right side. It's threaded into the block and there will be a black tube coming out of it. Very easy to remove and replace. rtalk7
Start with the simple things first. It is possible that both reverse lights are burned out. Take your lens covers off-pull the light bulbs and replace them with new bulbs. they are cheap. It is also possible that moisture has gotten into the sockets because of bad lens seals and corroded the sockets preventing the lights from working. Clean out the corrosion, lightly grease the inside of the sockets, seat the bulbs. Before replacing the lens covers run a small bead of flexible silicone type sealer around the lens seats to prevent any further intrusion of moisture. Be sure not to tighten the screws too much or it will damage the plastic lenses which are usually brittle with age. Hope this helps! also inspect wires look for cracks in wires or corrosion
