What Are Constellations?
Constellations are human inventions. Usually the stars that make up a constellation have no relation to each other; they're generally not part of the same cluster (an exception is the Big Dipper; many of its stars actually do belong to a single open cluster.) A very bright star that is very far away may look similar to a dimmer star that is closer; and if we see two (or more) similar looking stars in the same part of the sky, it is not unreasonable to associate them. It is believed that the constellations were originally invented thousands of years ago as an aid for learning the stars so that they could be used for navigation by sailors.
Why do Constellations Form?
The reason for constellations is the fact that the human brain tries to find patterns in random stuff. That way, it's easier for us to remember what we saw, recognize it later if we ever see it again, recognize quickly whether something we saw before has changed since the last time we saw it, and in general avoid being hit by somebody else with a rock, find something good to eat, and avoid having our foot eaten off by a lion. Constellations don't exist in nature. The stars are scattered across our sky in no pattern, at many different distances from each other and with no relationship to each other. But when human people had nothing else to do at night but lie around outside, chew on a piece of grass, and look at the sky, they did the same thing with the stars that we do now with the clouds ... they found patterns of stars that looked like animals, people, and other familiar things, told stories about them, and generally attached thoughts to the stars that they could remember. The only difference between the star patterns and clouds patterns is that the clouds change their shapes in five minutes, whereas the star patterns we see now are pretty much the same ones that people saw 20,000 years ago.

Life was also much harsher there. Many people wanted to escape. So, the Germans put up the wall, and the West continued while the East was bombed.
How did the Cold War effect Asia?
Cold War in Asia
Meanwhile, events in East Asia moved to a critical stage. The tension of the Cold War seemed to have moved from Europe to Asia.
On October 1, 1949, the People's Republic, under Mao Zedong, was proclaimed in China. This Communist triumph was a great shock to the United States. Overnight, the Communist influence seemed to have extended into the very heart of Asia and onto the doorstep of occupied Japan. The sheer physical size of Soviet Russia and China, and of their combined populations, gave a double threat to the American policy of containment. It was against this background that a full-scale war broke out in Korea.
After the Second World War, Korea north of 38th parallel had been occupied by the Russians, while south of the 38th parallel by the Americans. As no agreement on a common government for the whole country had been reached, the Russians established a communist regime in North Korea and the Americans a western-oriented democracy in South Korea. Syngman Rhee was elected President of South Korea.
On June 25, 1950 the North Korea troops began to invade South Korea. They attempted to unify Korea and set up a communist regime for the whole nation.
American military leaders had become aware of the importance of a non-communist South Korea for the defence of Japan. When the Security Council of the United Nations condemned the North Korean aggression, on behalf of the United Nations, the United States sent large number of troops under General Douglas MacArthur to fight back the invading North Korean troops. When the Americans advanced to the Yalu River, they met with the strong resistance of the Chinese Communist armies who drove the Americans back to the 38th parallel. The war ended in a virtual stalemate at the 38th parallel.
Finally in July 1953, with the help of the United Nations, an armistice was arranged. It was agreed to restore the status quo ante: Korea remained divided along the 38th parallel.
The effects of the Korean War were that
(i) Korea was much devastated during the war, particularly North Korea;
(ii) China was protected by a buffer state, North Korea, in her northeast;
(iii) China and the Soviet Union became close allies after the war;
(iv) the western nations had given military assistance to the United Nations to fight against aggression and the authority of the United Nations was upheld.

(The Soviets blockaded Berlin.)
After World War II, the Allies divided Germany into four zones of occupation. The U.S., U.S.S.R., France, and Great Britain agreed that each would govern one of the zones until the Germans were prepared to rule themselves. The Allies also decided to divide Germany's capital, Berlin, into four sectors, or parts. Each sector of Berlin would also be governed by one of the four Allied powers. The Soviet sector of the city was called East Berlin while the U.S., French, and British sectors were called West Berlin.Since Berlin was located inside the Soviet zone of Germany, the Americans, British, and French had to pass through the Soviet zone to get to their part of Berlin. This was not supposed to be a problem. When the Allies first decided to divide Germany into zones, the Soviets promised to allow the Americans, British, and French to move freely across their zone and into West Berlin.But serious problems developed in 1947. On the excuse that they were repairing roads and railroad tracks, the Soviets kept cars, trucks, and trains from crossing their zone. But the truth of the matter was that the Soviets wanted to cut off all food shipments to West Berlin. The Soviets hoped their Berlin blockade would force the Americans, British, and French to leave their part of Berlin.Many people in the Free World considered the Soviet blockade of Berlin an act of aggression. Many feared that the Berlin blockade would lead to World War III.
