Distributors and Distributor Caps

Simply unscrew it. There are 3 Allen head machine screws holding it on. Gently push it from its cover/housing. Re-attatch opposite of installing.

There is a sticker on the distributor cap cover that tells you the firing order. If not, you can easily find it in the manual you obviously don't own :)

The spark plug firing order is ( 1- 5 - 4 - 2 - 6 - 3 - 7 - 8 ) The distributor rotor turns COUNTER CLOCKWISE The distributor cap is installed with the marked # 1 facing to the rear and slightly towards the drivers side of the engine The engine cylinders / spark plugs are numbered 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 from front to rear on the passenger side of the engine and 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 from front to rear on the drivers side of the engine

I'm assuming you mean spark plug wiring, in which case, one of the most important things to find out is your particular motor's firing order. You can locate this information on line or invest in a manual. Pay close attention to the routing of your wires, especially adjacent cylinders, make sure the wires do not touch or are too close together else crossfiring could occur.

It could be very bad, it will eventually cook the motor. Gases and fuel keep trying to go into the cylinder making the cylinder have no place to put eventually bending valves or breaking a rod. (neither of which are good thing)

Check the fuse and connection. There are some cables or something attached to the battery, so I would check the fuse, oil, gasoline, connection, anything you can think of. Otherwise go to a service center.

You test an ignition coil by checking the resistance with an ohm meter. The resistance values should be something like, Primary winding .3 to 1 ohms, Secondary winding 8,000 to 11,500 ohms.

First find the coil it should be close to the distributor you will have two little screw post on the Coil it self. you un do the two bolts after lifting the dist cap off and the dist will come rite off from the head,then replace it be sure to set the new dist gear in the same pos as the old one
