The metal covers are not part of the boot. The boot should have a raised lip that will allow you to work it off of the spark plug. Twist and turn it until it pops off.

The most likely sign that the evaporator is bad is that the system keeps leaking R-134 and wont hold a charge. The best thing to do is get yourself a recharge kit that has a gauge and check to see what the low side pressure reading is. If its R-134 it should be around 25 to 33 PSI on the low side. Because of the new type of refrigerant R-134 has to run at a much higher pressure then the old R-12 and some components had to be "BEEFED UP" to handle the higher pressure but because of this higher pressure it can sometimes lead to a leak down the road.

Depending on the year it could be 5w30 or 5w20. If you look at the oil cap it should say. I can't remember if it says 5w30 but if it takes 5w20 it definitely says that on the cap.

Turn the key on then off and on again then off again then on once more and watch the check engine light count how many times it flashes. it will flash 1 for 1 or 2 for 2 or it will flash 2 then pause then flash 5 more time for 25 or so on.

Sounds like your oxygen sensor may be out.

An Escort water pump is located under the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt. Jack up the right front corner of the vehicle, remove the following: RF wheel, front motor mount, serpentine belt, belt tensioner crankshaft pulley, timing cover, and timing belt, to gain access to and replace the water pump. It is recommennded that you install a new timing belt when you replace the water pump.

Remove belt and drain antifreeze,remove right tire and plastic splash pan. Three bolts hold water pump pully, remove. Five boltshold pump to housing 10mm.R&R pump. PepBoys sells a new bosh pump and o ring for $30.00. reinstall belt etc.Takes less than an hour

changing the water pump is quite involved. I recommend a manual. The BGB is expensive, but is well worth it.

they are located all over the engine. There are some located up each side of the engine block(usually 3 up each side), there is ususally one in the back of the engine block indide the bellhousing(it is necessary to remove the transmission to access that one), and there should be one at each end of each cylinder head. Freeze plugs are simply round discs, some about the size of a quarter, some about the size of a fifty-cent piece, that are escape routes for frozen water, if the coolant in the engine ever freezes, it will pop out a freeze plug before it will break the block or crack the head. Some are ususally easy to see, some are incredibly difficult to access. You need to figure out which one(s) is/are leaking, clear anything in the way(could be motor mounts, starter, or even transmission) to gain access. Once access is gained, use a screwdriver and a hammer to LIGHTLY tap the freeze plug free. Once loose, use whatever means to grab it and hook it out. You can usually grab it with pliers. To install a new one, lightly coat the ede of the new freeze plug with lock-tite, or some kind of thread-locker. Find a socket that just fits inside of the freeze plug and use your hammer to firmly, but evenly tap the new plug into place. You want to tap it in until the edge of the plug is pretty much even with the outside of the engine metal surface.

This is a big job compared to some. The water pump on this Mitsubishi engine is under the timing cover and is run by the timing belt. Replacement requires removal of all accessories (alternator, power steering pump, A/C compressor) as well as supporting engine and removing front mounts. After you get all this off. remove plastic covers, release belt tensioner, remove timing belt, and unbolt and remove the pump. Installation is reverse of removal; PLUS: camshafts will be out of time and MUST be realigned. Replacing the timing belt at this time is a no-brainer (unless you had fun doing all this work in the first place!).

So no. Whooping your child causes trust issues. So DONT WHOOP YOUR CHILD.

It is under the housing where the lower radiator hose hooks to the engine.

Check your manual. I use SAE 10W-40. Use the best grade you can afford. There are sales at local auto parts and Sam's Club Stores, so look for a good quality motor oil Don't be cheap and do change your oil every 3000 miles. or 3 months.

to check the primary resistance disconnect the electrical connector, take your ohm meter and touch red to the center prong and black to an outer prong. it should be less than 5.0 ohms the secondary you remove plug wires and and touch your meter to the bottom of the paired cylinders 1/5, 2/6 and 3/4 are paired

All fuses are located either in the fuse panel at the left end of the dash or in the fuse/relay box in the engine compartment above the left front wheel well. The covers of both have a diagram labeling the fuses and relays contained within.

The speed sensor ring is in the differential case in front of the ring gear. To get to the unit you will need to remove the differential cover and drain the lube which requires replacement along with the cover gasket. Check to find out what lube you need to use and if synthetic is required. If you are not familiar with differential or transmission work you may want to get an estimate from a transmission shop or your mechanic.
