There is a sensor up pn the firewall I think called an EGR sensor. I understand many Melinnias have this problem. Replacing the sensor for some reason just causes the replacement to go bad. My solution was to just remove it. Sure, my emissions are probably not as good, but it has never stalled again. My engine light stays on but hey, who cares? The sensor I found was located almost dead center - clightly to the driver side about 3-6 inches away from the firewall connected to an electrical connection. Mysterioiusly the part had a Mitsubishi emblem on it! Maybe an OEM part from the Mazda dealer would have corrected this, but my solution seems to work just fine.
Answercheck the main fuseI have the same 1st 2 codes(problem). The EGR valve assy is a spaceship shaped item, behind the rear spark plugs, slightly underneath the plugs. It has two vac hoses (top and bottom). The other part discussed above, is the MAP sensor. I found that one store may sell you the top portion of the MAP sensor assy, but not the lower. I have found that another store will sell you the whole assy, and all you have to do is remove 2 nuts, 2 vac hoses and 2 elec connectors. This I have done (whole assy). My codes are still there. This was the cheapest route, so far. That part was $200 at "AZ", with the EGR valve being $350. It may nickle and dime me, but at least it'll eventually pass local emissions testin requirements (eventually). I bought a scanner/eraser to check and erase my codes. Have not encountered the P15xx series, yet.
Where is the shift soleniod on a 2003 dodge ram 1500 van?
On the valve body, inside the transmission.
On the valve body, inside the transmission.
Where do i find the fuses for the head lights on a dodge ram250 van?
in the glove compartment, and the relays are under the tray in the glove compartment
1998 astro van will not start when wet?
there can be many reasons. but the most common is moister in the dist.cap or on the coil which is mounted on the dist. I personally like a product called 5-56. which is kinda like wd40 only better. I know that if you batt those eyes. someone will come running to help you. you lucky dog. wish I could do that.
How many quarts of oil should you put in a 99 dodge ram van?
5.2 and 5.9 V8 engines take 5qt
book says 5.5 quarts i just put 6
Why is no power getting to the coil on an 1989 Dodge Van?
I don't know if there is a fusable link! This is what I did. I lifted the glove box out and next to the fusebox is a flat black box (3" x 5" x 1 "), probably the electronic ignition. I unplugged it and replaced it. Further I replaced the relays (3 of them under the hood). one is located directly beside the smec computer, one is a metal relay in the middle of the firewall and the other is in between the brake booster and the batterie. I tried it again and it works. the other way is, run a wire from the batterie to the pos side of the coil (to supply power). pull one of the sparkplug wire of and stick another sparkplug in it and lay it on top of the valve cover. Crank the motor over and see if the sparkplug sparks (this is to check your coil working properly!)
If the rotors on your '02 Liberty are very difficult to remove should the axel bolt come off also?
I don't know specifically about your Liberty, but rotors are often hard to remove and usually have several useless-looking threaded holes drilled in them on the outer face near the hub. The purpose of the holes is that you can thread properly sized bolts into them and then turn the bolts to "pop off" the rotor. So you might look for those.
1990 Dodge Ram Van B350 5.2L Where is the location of the MAP sensor?
I answered my own question by accident. The information I had read said that it's located at the right side of the engine. More accurately, it's located on the right side of the throttle body.
Where can you get a repair manual for 1995 Mark III E150 Raised Roof Conversion van?
You wont find a manual for the Mark III because its an aftermarket unit, you will have to utilize a Haynes Manual for an Econoline Van...Hope this helps
Why does the gas gauge on your Dodge van read almost empty when it is full of gas?
Factor(s):
1- "Possible" bad fuel indicator/gauge/gage.
2- "Possible" break in the fuel signal wiring between the indicator and the sending unit.
3- Possible" defective sending unit located inside the fuel tank ( normally, fuel pump and sending unit are into single unit assembly).
4- Or, YOU thought you filled the tank but it's actually empty?! -Just kidding!

What 4-cylinderinder trucks come with back seat?
I know you are probably asking this question because of gas mileage concerns. A bit of info for you. Some 6 cylinders, in the right application, get better gas mileage than a struggling, underpowered 4 cyl.. Case in Point.
I had a 2005 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 LTR 4cyl. It got 31MPG
My wife had 2005 Chevy Malibu v6 at same time. she got 34 MPG.
What is the point settings for a 1982 318 motor for a dodge truck?
There are no breaker points in a Dodge vehicle that new. That vehicle has electronic ignition. If the distributor has been changed you must use the spec that corresponds to the vehicle the distributor originally came from. Probably 0.014-0.019 inch.
Please note: the 318 is an engine, not a motor.
You changed the transmission fluid but it still leaks?
Where is it leaking from? Could be front or rear seal or coolant lines Did you change gasket when you changed fluid?
How do you change the fuel pump on a 99 dodge ram 2500 van?
The fuel pump should be located in the gas tank and is part of the fuel guage sending unit. Changing it involves dropping the fuel tank. Good Luck!
How do you install radio in 1992 dodge ram van?
There is a panel in front of dash ,remove screws underneath open drivers side door another one there ,open glove box another one there. Now just pull off towards you carefully .That will expose the radio screws and wiring once you remove its screws. You can buy a after market wiring harness to plug into your existing harness otherwise just splice into the wiring checking for power with test light. One power comes on only when egnition is on goes to your RED wire power to radio .The other stays on all the time which is you YELLOW wire to your radio and the blue wire is used if you have power antenna on the radio. The rest are just speaker wires on the harness. Good luck
What could be causing a loud Humming in the front end of a 2000 dodge ram van?
The cause is most likely a worn out wheel bearing.
Depending on the year of the vechile you can clear error codes several different ways. If the vechile is pre 95 you can disconnect power to the battery for ten minutes and that will clear the stored codes. If the vechile is post 95 you have to have a scanner hooked up to clear the codes. 96 and up there is a hand scanner that can be purchased at your local parts store so you can scan and remove the code.
my 2 centsThis is more than needed but I am trying to give a broader explanation. The " check engine light" is by far one of the most misunderstood technological advances It is a warning light that is illuminated when there is a problem affecting the EMISSIONS of the vehicle.. Don't let it bother you as it is a good thing once you understand it. One point that was brought up a recent meeting of technicians was that the amount of hydrocarbons is greater when the gas cap is left off than when the engine is running. Hydrocarbons are part of pollution emitted as gasoline evaporates. Going a step farther, one facet of the emission system is the "Evaporative" portion. This is when the fumes from the gasoline are leaking from the system into the outside air. This is one part of the emission system that can trigger a check engine light. I would say a small percentage of the vehicles that have a check engine light are the result of a loose or inadequate gas cap. But understand that many scenarios are possible with the "check engine light" The vehicle's powertrain computer (note that some vehicles have multiple computers aside from the powertain computer) will run a series of self-tests. They will only run under certain criteria. And they are different from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some self-tests or monitors are not run until preceding ones have run successfully. So if there is a problem in one particular area that is preventing another self test from running, you can have a situation where one problem is fixed, but another still exists. If you fix a problem and drive the car through a drive cycle that sets the monitor (or self test) the light will go off as it passes that criteria that triggered it in the first place. There are many different sources for the light to come on. Anything that caused combustion to fail, commonly called a misfire will set the light. Various sensors such as oxygen sensors that evaluate the exhaust before and after the gases are burned in the converter. Transmission codes may set the check engine light to appear. If the car is running okay, get it fixed in a reasonable amount of time such as within the month. It will probably save you fuel if you do. However if the Check engine light is flashing, you should be driving it as damage is being done to the converter. Some emission components are covered beyond the standard warranty. The converter for example is covered up to 80,000 miles by the manufacturer. After 1996, the auto industry went to a idea called OBD II (on board diagnostics). This was to get all the manufacturers onto a similar plane for troubleshooting and powertrain control. While they still differ, many corrections and adaptations were made for technicians to better fix the check engine light problems. Prior to this there were so many different and poor troubleshooting data from a check engine light problem that resolving the problem was much more difficult. Many early warning light of this nature were set to illuminate based on mileage. An Oxygen sensor was one of the things that were meant to be replaced when that mileage was hit. This is much like many current "Change oil lights that are set based on a pre-set mileage. To start testing for the check engine light, youll need to find the codes from the computer, match the code to the troubleshooting procedure, follow the procedure to find the source. Repair the source, light will go out if that was the only problem. There are "monitors" or self tests the computer runs the car through a drive cycle, if a problem occurs, it may not run all of the self tests until that problem is taken care. There are self-tests for the oxygen sensor circuit, egr system, evaporative system to name a few. Therefore, another problem may exist. It is emission related.OR hook up a scanner that is capable of clearing codes, and hope that it wont come back on. But dont bet on it. Lastly, disconnecting the battery in some cars will clear the memory of the computer and may temporarily turn the light off. Beware that this may also cause other problems such as the car not rembering its idle and will have to relearn it, the radio may be rendered inoperative or in the case of the new Toyotas, the air bag can blow.
This Is an Addition to his answer.
He is trying to over explain.. Just undo your negative battery terminal for 30 minutes then re connect it. this should clear any fault codes. the exception is if there is still a problem then it wont work.
Why does the radiator in your lounge not warm up even though you have bled the radiator?
I'm supposing all other rads on the system are hot? If so, it sounds like you either have a flow problem, check wheel-head and locksheild valves are open. If they are you'll need to determine if water is actually passing the valve when open by un-doing the joint. I assume when you bled the valve air followed by water under pressure followed? If this occurred it's likely there is suitable flow and that the radiator itself is blocked with sediment.
The most cost effective measure is to remove rad and flush out individually with hose pipe, remembering to lock of valves before hand.
Observe how much silt/rust deposits comes out. Flush till clean and refit, open valves and re-bleed, see how you go. Are you using inhibitor in the system do you have an engineer service it every 12 months.
How can you find out what a warning light means on a 2000 Ford Ranger 4WD?
Owners manual. Don't have one then describe the light you are referring to. Red means stop, yellow means caution, or attention. Without knowing which light, I can't help.
