In acousitcs, a device used to increase resonance(like echo effects) of a soud and usually apparent volume there are both acoustic(on some guitars such as the Resophonic) and electronic resonators. Of course if you recorxed in a bent conrete tunnel like those culverts in central park this would be a natural resonator llike the higher noise of a train in a tunnel, the sound reverberating off the walls. Phil Spector made good use of resonance and(wall of Sound) in his recordings many of which could not be performed live for optimum effect. crimson and clover has resonator effects.
On an automobile it is a devise , like a muffler, used to lower the sound output.
Why does your dome light come on and the car dings when I hit a bump in your 1996 dodge stratus?
It sounds like the switch on the door is really sensitive. It is located in between the door on the hinge side and the car body. If the door isn't completely shutting all the way this would cause this. The switch could just be going bad and needs to be replaced. Sometimes some models will allow one to "Shim" the switch by using a washer or shim to push the switch out more. You just need to play with it alittle bit to see. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Do you have a diagram where the radiator drain plug is located?
the drain plug is usually located at the lower left hand/right hand side of radiator. I've noticed that some gm's and chryslers do not have drain plugs. in that case, it is easier to have a flush done.

How do you change a front headlight on a 1998 Dodge Stratus?
Open the hood You will see the headlights and they are covered by a plastic, and/or metal piece on the top of the headlight. If you look at each head light there is 2 "star shaped" screws. very distinct, and they are spaced on one the upper right and on on the lower bottom of this piece covering the headlights. Unscrew them both... they are very long screws. Pull out both screws, and keep them somewhere safe. The headlights will pull directly out with some minor wiggling, and there will be a wiring harness attached to each that is attached to the bulb. Now if your bulbs are good you can disconnect the wire by gently pulling it off, and then pop out the bulb. There is a black connector on the bulb, just turn till it loosens, and take the bulb right out. Then just set aside the bulb in a safe area, because if you bought a new headlight it most likely wont come with the bulb. I suggest getting a 9700 size bulb white light running from 30-50 bucks for the set. The stock bulbs blow. Now you have the screws out, the wiring harness off, and the bulb and its connector off. grab your new headlight, and place the old bulb (or new one) in the slot, and replace the plastic holder, and turn it till it locks. I suggest getting bulb grease, and rubbing it on the plastic bearing for a very easy installation and it will help in not damaging the bulb. next just plug in the wiring harness, and reset your headlight in so you can line up the holes so the screws can get in there nice and easy. Also notice when you are screwing the screws back in.... in between the holes there is a level... wipe it off if you cant read it and make sure it is level before you fully tighten or you are gonna have some light issues later on. Once the level is at 0 (or in the middle) tighten them screws nice and snug.
Where is the dodge stratus 2000 fuel pump switch location?

How do you repair a 2000 Dodge Stratus solenoid pack?
How much did the solenoid pack cost?
I believe what your talking about changing is an ignition coil. A solenoid pack has nothing to do with spark plug wires, and is not on the top of the engine. A solenoid pack is a transmission component located on the side of the transmission.
1997 dodge stratus diagnostic code 31?
If it is the MIL code you are talking about, my manual shows 31 as being associated with the EVAP system. Problem is that there are many "31" codes for EVAP. What is needed is the scan code. Like P1495 or P1494.
All of these scan codes are listed under a "31" MIL code.
P0443: EVAP emission control system purge valve C fault.
P0441: Insufficient or excessive vapor flow detected.
P0442: EVAP emission control system leak (small)
P0445: Leak detection monitor is unable to pressurize the system (large leak)
P1486: Plug or pinch detected between purge solenoid and fuel tank.
P1495: Leak detection pump solenoid circuit fault.
P1494: Leak detection pump switch does not respond to input.
You can get more info on the scan codes at you local library. Locally here (Seattle), I can access All Data and Chilton via the library. No fee. I assume you have the same.
Good luck.
Where is the thermostat on a 1996 Stratus es 2.5?
The thermostat is under the housing where the lower radiator hose hooks to the engine.
How do you change the battery for a dodge stratus year 1999?
To change the battery you must first turn the wheels all the way to the right. You need to remove the inner fender panel behind the wheel. It is just held on with some push in plastic retainers. With the panel out you just need to remove the retaining strap and disconnect the battery. Installation is reverse of removal.
How much does it cost to replace a '97 Dodge Stratus water pump?
I just had my water pump replaced by a shop and it cost about 800 buck-a-roos. Of course it was done same day! I have done the same job myself and it ran about $250 and took about 2 days. Both scenarios include replacing all belts including timing belt.
Why does your 2000 dodge stratus have to charge your battery when the battery reads 12 volts?
Actually a battery that reads 12v is more than likely weak, has a bad cell, or simply in need of replacement. Car batteries are rated by their cranking amps not really the 12v. When you start your car, this puts a "load" on the battery. This is when the battery actually does it's work. So... the "load" or starter or how about the entire car is putting a strain on the battery and the battery cannot handle it. If you jump off your car and it runs ok then it's a high probability that your battery needs to be replaced. Oh, the battery should actually read around 13 to 14.5 volts. FYI--you can actually find an old battery sitting around a junk yard or behind a barn and it would probably read 12v.
Will a 1999 dodge neon transmission fit into a 2002 dodge neon They are both automatics?
no 2002 made only one certin trany for that year
Where is the starter located on a 1996 dodge stratus?
your gonna need to jack up the car remove the tire fire wall prolly the oil filter mark your wires when you remove them get under there and youll figure it out not to hard..
(Strat- Man) It depends on what motor you have. but if you have the 2.0L motor. its on the front side of the motor under the intake manifold, and right behind the electric fan for your radiator. it will be mounted to your transmission housing, and butted up against the engine block. disconnect the negative power cable located on your driverside strut tower, and remove starter. you'll need a socket wrench, 3-5 in. extension, and i would start with a 15 mm socket to remove the starter bolts. it will have a wire connector that needs to be unplugged too. its usually brown in color. there is a set of 2 power wires there too bolted onto the solenoid, that usaully requires a 13mm socket to remove the wires from it. there really is no need to remove the tire, or in most cases to put the car up on jack stands. removal is simple, if you have the tools to do it.
I am having the same problem and have not taking the car to the shop yet
Need water pump replacement schematic for 1999 dodge stratus?
Try Chilton's or All Data for instructions. This is a 4.5 -5 hour ordeal for a professional and a 2 day mess for an amateur. Plus you must remove the timing belt on the 2.4 4 Cylinder to get to the pump. Mess up here and you can damage your engine. Good Luck!
# Disconnect the negative battery cable. This procedure requires removing the engine timing belt and the auto tensioner. The factory specifies that the timing marks should always be aligned before removing the timing belt. Set the engine at TDC on No. 1 compression stroke. This should align all timing marks on the crankshaft sprocket and both camshaft sprockets. # Raise and safely support the vehicle to a level that allows access from above and below. # Remove the right inner splash shield. # Remove the accessory drive belts. # Place a drain pan under the radiator drain plug. Drain and properly contain the cooling system. # Support the engine using a floor jack and block of wood, then remove the right motor mount. # Remove the timing belt, tensioner and camshaft sprockets. WARNING With the timing belt removed, DO NOT rotate the camshaft or crankshaft, or damage to the engine could occur. # Remove the rear timing belt cover to access the water pump. # Remove the water pump attaching bolts. # Remove the water pump.

To install: # Thoroughly clean all sealing surfaces. Replace the water pump if there are any cracks, signs of coolant leakage from the shaft seal, loose or rough turning bearings, a damaged impeller or sprocket, or a loose or damaged sprocket flange. # Install a new rubber O-ring into the water pump. Make sure the O-ring is properly seated in the water pump groove before tightening the screws. An improperly located O-ring may cause damage to the O-ring and cause a coolant leak. # Install the water pump and tighten the bolts to 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm). # Using a cooling system pressure tester, pressurize the cooling system to 15 psi and check for leaks. If okay, release the pressure and continue the engine assembly process. # Rotate the water pump by hand to check for freedom of movement. # Install the rear timing belt cover. # Install the camshaft sprocket(s), timing belt and tensioner. DO NOT allow the camshafts to turn while the sprocket bolts are being tightened, in order to maintain timing mark alignment. WARNING Do not attempt to compress the tensioner plunger with the tensioner assembly installed in the engine. This will cause damage to the tensioner and other related components. The tensioner MUST be compressed in a vise. # Install the timing belt covers. # Install the right engine mount bracket and engine mount. # Remove the floor jack and wood block from underneath the engine. # Install the crankshaft damper. # Install the right inner splash shield. # Lower the vehicle. # Install and tension the accessory drive belts. # Refill the cooling system using the correct quantity and type of coolant. Bleed the cooling system. # Start the engine and check for proper operation. # Check and top off the cooling system, if necessary. 2.5L Engine See Figures 3 through 7 # Disconnect the negative battery cable. # Place a large drain pan under the radiator drain plug. Drain and properly contain the engine coolant. This procedure requires removing the engine timing belt and the auto tensioner. To help assure proper alignment at assembly, it may be helpful to set the engine at TDC on No. 1 compression stroke. This should align all timing marks on the crankshaft sprocket and both camshaft sprockets. # Remove the accessory drive belts and crankshaft damper. # Remove the right engine mount. This requires safely supporting the engine with a floor jack and wood block so the mount can be removed. # Remove the timing belt covers. # Remove the timing belt and tensioner.
