Insert a 6mm Allen key into tensioner ,insert a 3mm Allen key, long side, into the small hole and turn the 6mm counterclockwise until the 3mm slides in.It will then be locked into place. To tighten the tensioner just turn the 6mm clockwise. The 2.0L has a hydraulic tensioner which needs to be removed and the pin depressed (sometimes in a vice).Then insert a 5/64in. Allen key throughthe hole to keep it depressed. reinstall tensioner and remove Allen key.Tension is correct when the pin can be pushed in and out easily. The V6 requires a special tool.

Well, im not sure this answers your question, but i own a 1995 dodge stratus and when i turn it made this terrible squeeking. I sprayed down the boot on the ball joint and that solved it. What happened was that the boobt just got twisted and the rubber was squeeking. WD40 works well to spray it.
