What are some jobs people with epilepsy have?
People with epilepsy can have almost any kind of job. Epilepsy only affects a person when they are having a seizure. At any other time there are no problems, so they can do almost anything. The only consideration is how would their job be affected if they have a seizure while doing it. Any danger they could be in or could be caused to others needs to be considered. So people with epilepsy would not be allowed to be a pilot for example. While they can be allowed to drive, they would not be given jobs driving people, like a bus driver. So they can do most jobs, particularly if their seizures are rare and mild.

An Electroencephalography (EEG) is a way of recording electrical activity in the brain. Sensors are attached to the head of the patient and these can be read to check activity levels. During the course of the EEG the patient will be asked to carry out simple activities, like opening and closing their eyes, taking deep breaths, and being exposed to external stimuli, such as lights. This can be monitored on a screen and be printed out. So if it is being looked at on a screen, that is an EEG monitor.

No it's not common. Usually women that are in physically abusive relationships walk in fear every day. Their heart is in their throat the minute their mate walks through that door because it's like walking on broken glass around him. The abuser has their victim so brain-washed she doesn't know what to do or where to go for help and often is too embarrassed to go for help. The abuser will keep her ignorant to many facts in life such as the law and also that there are good programs and much help out there for abused women. The abuser knows this! If a woman can play the same abusive game back to her mate then she isn't that physically abused, because men are simply stronger than women and he knows he has the power. If this person is mentally abused and it's one fight after the other, then why would anyone want to stay in this sort of relationship just to prove a point or out of pride. There are no rights or boundaries in this situation. There is a game we must all play in life and it's called trust, honesty, respect, love and being there as each other's best friends and not just as lovers. A relationship should never be a war zone. Marriage and life in general is simply a pawn game for all of us and abuse is unacceptable in a relationship and adds more stress to our lives. Women and men alike have the freedom, and the mind and strength to move away from anything that is not conducive or destructive to their lives. There are simply no excuses. If you or anyone you know is abused then take that risk and reach out and touch someone (Mental Health or one of the Abused Women's Centers in your area.) Aim for "flying free!" Good luck Marcy Becoming like an abuser from a victim's point of view isn't the same. An abuser has their own reality and you can't penetrate that. Best to see if you can both get to a therapist and figure out how to manage coexistence by empowering each person. Perhaps it is more a passage in the relationship where you both need to readjust. I notice this more around 17 to 20 years into the relationship and/or when the partners reach their forties. Just need a new deal instead of a vicious cycle of trying to one-up one another. Now, if it is abuse and the issue is a taboo subject, that may be a dealbreaker in continuing the relationship.

The seizures are caused by a parasite called Encephalitozoon cuniculi. Encephalitozoon cuniculi (EC) What is E Cuniculi?
Encephalitozoon cuniculi (EC) is a parasite that causes lesions (called "granulomas") in such organs as the kidneys, liver and brain. Even today, EC is still not well understood in the rabbit community. Theories and opinions regarding transmission, treatment and the severity of the problems caused by this parasite vary widely. To date, none of the theories have really been proven or not proven by a definitive study. Because EC is a protozoon, it is difficult to find this organism in the live rabbit, and often, the protozoan is not even found during a post mortem exam. How is EC transmitted?
The majority of rabbits seem to become infected with EC from their mothers. Infection can also occur when something contaminated by urine containing EC spores has been ingested. Approximately one month after the rabbit is infected it begins to shed EC spores via its urine. Spores continue to be shed for approximately 3 months, but can be shed throughout the rabbit's life. What problems does EC cause?
Some experts feel that the majority of rabbits who have been exposed to EC do not suffer any health consequences as a result of this exposure. Others feel that EC is responsible for a whole host of health problems, including renal failure, convulsions, torticollis (head tilt or wry neck), hind limb weakness or loss of balance, nystagmus (eye twitching) and incontinence. Rabbits affected by EC before they are born (via the placenta) may develop lesions around the eyes, which sometimes cause visible white spots in the eye. How is EC detected?
Antibodies to EC can be detected through a blood test called a titer test. A rabbit who has been exposed to EC in its lifetime will produce antibodies as a result of this exposure. A titer test is used to detect the level of the antibody to the organism in the blood. A positive titer tells you that the rabbit has been exposed to this parasite at some point in its life. Note that this does not allow you to differentiate between simple exposure and an active infection. By doing two titer tests (with an interval of time in between) and comparing the results, it is possible to determine if the rabbit is mounting an immune response to an active infection or if he was previously infected. However, even with a rising titer, you can't determine for certain that a particular health problem is being caused by EC or something else. Head tilt, for example, has many causes other than EC, including bacterial or viral infections, trauma and toxicity. A false negative titer may also result if an infected animal produces an inadequate amount of antibodies. How is EC treated?
There are several treatment options for rabbits infected with EC. At the time of this writing, the most widely prescribed treatment is probably one of the benzimidazoles (oxibendazole, albendazole or fenbendazole). Of these drugs, fenbendazole is the only one that has been studied and believed to cure the infection, rather than just control it (Veterinary Record, April 2001*). Other treatment options are discussed in Can Encephalitozoon cuniculi, a protozoal parasite of the nervous system, be treated with pyrimethamine?

How long do you have to wait for your drivers license if your epileptic?
In the State of Florida, you must be under a doctors care. The doctor must certify you have been seizure free for six months. Then, he or she sends that certification to the department of motor vehicles. The department of motor vehicles contacts you and sends you a permission to drive. Then you can get your drivers license. You can then go to the driver's license department.
There are certain types of truck drivers licenses you can never get due to Federal Law. Do not sign up for an over the road truck driving class.
