This, I presume is the last year of the type which had the squarish design of lights and rectangular reflectors, before Ford changed to the round lights and reflectors? If this is the case, there's a big plastic wing nut holding the light cluster in place and it's not obvious! You have to reach inside to the back of the light cluster and feel for the wing nut. Unscrew it and the light cluster will come loose. Then get hold of the light cluster with both hands and pull forward firmly, to unplug the two plastic pegs on the outside. If it's the newer design with two screws on the edge covered by the hatchback, they are T25 Torx screws, not Phillips or Pozidrive! The bulb is the usual bayonet 5W/21W side/brake light bulb.

Only the hinge pins can be replaced without major bodywork as the hinges are welded to the doors and the frame.

Assuming this is a transverse mounted engine the drain plug is located at the rear of the sump 13mm spanner or socket fits the plug.

to change the spark plugs there are 5 steps to this:

step 1: remove spark plug wires.

step 2: find the right size spark plug socket and rachet.

step 3: losen spark plugs until they come out.

step 4: install new spark plugs into cylinder, but make sure not to cross thread them it is very easy.

step 5: replace spark plug wires on to new spark plugs.

firstly check that your airflow meter is working properly that's tends to give an uneven idle,next check your ISCV (idle speed control valve) that can cause problems too & by clean it out it is just a short term solution need to buy a new one later on.also check your leds to your spark plugs for cracks & residue build up.this is all process of elimination.

No it won't I'm afraid, they're just too different.

try cleaning out the idle speed control valve with carb spray, soak it for about an hour and put it back. if it cures it your donr, if it cures it for a while u will need a new one. very common problem they build up with carbon deposites. thanks harry

I had exactly the same problem and have found the solution. There are three rubber breather pipes under the inlet manfold on the front of the engine. On my engine all three had split. I replaced these and now no stalling, smooth tickover, problem solved!

remove clips easy bit , cold chisel under the head knocked it up a bit clamped mole grips to head knocked up a bit more second pair of mole grips knocked it a bit more etc etc o wd40 and a load of cursing and patience

The answer lies on the inside of the cover of the fuse box. There is a sticker that contains this information.

All BUT high speed runs through a resister panel to control the speeds on its own circuit. High speed is direct on its own circuit. High speed works so that circuit is good.I would check the power to the resisters.I have replaced a few resister panels on various vehicles do to this same problem.

If you are talking Mk2 Focus, you need to purchase an ISOFIX mount kit from your Ford dealer (approx £15). This then attaches to pre-drilled holes (bolts supplied in kit - Torx size 10 I think) found under the base of backrest of the rear seats, one set on each side of the vehicle. You can see 2 black coloured blanks when lifting up the rear seats. I believe you have to remove the appropriate rear seat temporarily to fit the kit. TH - Derbyshire
