How do you repair a left rear power window on a 1993 Mercedes 190e?
If no power check for 1. fuse 2. frt switch power (console) 3. duuh-safety lock off?
If these are good and you have power to the motor I can't help you at this point. But if the motor is good and the lift mechanism is the culprit here are a few things that have worked for me.
The usual part that fails is the slider on the track. This metal/ plastic part is a cheap piece of crap not in the old school MB tradition.
Grasping the window move it to bottom position by the motor or sliding it down as far as you can go. Release the black clip that holds the window in the slider piece. It will be necess. to remove the regulator by the 3 -10mm nuts and 2 -10mm bolts in the top of the track and bottom. Note the position of the slots in the top and bottom for reaassembly
When the regulator is out you will note that the metal piece has spun around and has separated from the plastic part that slides on the track.
Inside are the ends of the cable and a metal clip to secure it -(it goes on top of the cable to hold it and act as a buffer) The cable must fit in the groove in the plastic piece under some tension (It's not much, -put it in full bottom,stretch the cable and reinstall) If the cables are in the slider and under some tension skip this step make sure the cable is in the pulleys.
Now move the metal piece to line up with the plastic piece. It should rotate on the horiz. axis to mate with plastic. Secure by drilling and riveting( best) or super glue and zip ties ( kinda riggish, but may work for awhile.
Careful not to drill through the slider cable slot

I've had pretty good luck finding online diagrams and instructions at the Autozone Repair Info site. If that doesn't work out, you can locate the instructions in a Chiltons or Haynes manual, which I don't think exists on line, but you can usually find them at your local library, and then make copies of the applicable pages.

if there is no smoke coming out of the tail pipe and your oil has not change color(milky white) then your headgasket is not the problem. the sound you hear is your lifters. they are not lubricating properly. check your oil level and quality also pressure. if you are using 10/30 try changing to a thicker oil. depending on your vehicle's year and miles you may need that extra layer of lub that a thicker oil provides. try also getting an "engine lucas" check your auto parts store they should know what that is. this will help your engine lubricate better and quiet the noise down.(i've used it) ''drive your car for a few days/miles and you should notice the diffrence.''
