the VPWR terminal is the main power source coming out from the battery. V=Vehicle, PWR= POWER. in simple words, the VPWR is the POSITIVE (+) terminal coming from the battery in the car.:} your welcome.

Any good commercial brand (Zerex, Prestone) mixed 50/50 with water

I am the technical manager at prestone. you should really flush and then refill your cooling system with one of the above brands. Make sure that you only use deionized or distilled water in a 50/50 mixure when refilling. never go above a 70% antifreeze/30% water ratio or gelling can occur.

I think you will find that the 1995 Ford Contour does not have a Cabin Filter. To make sure look in your owne's manual, or, go to Advance Autos Parts and ask for one. If it indeed does have one, then purchase a Purolator Cabin Filter. The filter will come with detailed instructions on location and how to install it.

Consider replacing the CV axle instead of just the joint. Having done this for many years, it is a better value and not so labor intensive. Price it out locally and I expect it should fall in the 200.00 price area complete. Shop around.

The flasher unit is on the left hand side in the steering column.remove 3 screws on top and 3 on the bottom,with a Phillips screwdriver,push up clip and pull out.

to take the harmonic balancer off, you shouldn't have to mess with the timing belt. but if there is no way around it, the easiest way is to get a marker and just putt a mark on the camshafts, and the crank so you can realine the belt. and just take the belt off.

Possibly, the power steering pressure switch changes the idle if there is more pressure due to use of the power steering it will increase the idle. A bad switch could be sending faulty informatioin causing your idle to be wrong and the car could stall. These switches cost about $30-$35 and depending on location take minutes to change with a couple wrenches.

TAke off the window regulator handle and door handle then remove all of the screws you can find at the corners etc then remove the retainers around the sides and bottom of the panel. This requires a special tool availavle at parts stores.

I thought I'd share my limited experience on this car. The turn signals and emergency flashers on my '98 Contour finally quit all together. I went to O'Reillys and their generic relay didn't look like what I'd seen pictured in the internet so I went to the Ford dealer. Theirs didn't either. But I bought it anyway as it appeared shorter than the generic. Well, the Ford relay was the correct relay (those pictured on the 'net were not for my year, I guess). Where's the relay? A question I was having a hard time finding the answer to. It is located on the back side (towards the engine) of the turn signal switch. I had to remove the covers around the steering column (2 Phillips screws on top, 3 for the bottom) to gain access to the relay. Flip up the retaining clip, remove the old relay and replace with the new relay. The hardest part was getting the relay. The generic relay might have worked and it was half the price of the Ford relay but hopefully I'll never know. Happy Motoring! Phil

I also wish someone would answer this question as my 1997 Ford contour does the same thing. It shakes and vibrates very bad when it idles and it idles really low. Odometer is usually controlled by the speed sensor not a fuse . In most vehicles it is sticking out the side of the transmission

Fuse f23 in main fuse box. But, there is also a speed control cut-off relay 19 somewhere.probably it if you can find it. It is blue.
