Where is the block heater cord on a 2007 Ford Ranger?

All Ford Rangers are gasoline-fueled (OK, a few are electric), none are diesel, yet many have block heaters. (IIRC, it was part of certain option "packages".) On my 1999 Ranger (4x4 w/ 3.0L V6), the block heater is installed (in a freeze plug hole) on the right (passenger) side of the engine, and the cord comes forward and is tucked up and stowed inside the right portion of the front bumper, low down, just outboard of the "cowl" opening that allows airflow to the radiator. (About where the right foglight is on the 2007s...) If you pop the hood and can't spot it from above, you may have to crawl under and get familiar with it. After you figure it out, you'll be able to just reach under blindly and grab it out. IIRC, it may have some kind of bungee-retraction thingy. My heater isn't needed in South FL, but I may start plugging it in once in a while, just to mess with the Greenie-weenie Prius neighbors... I'll tell 'em my Ranger generates "excess energy", and I'm selling it back to FP&L... LOL! ;')

Where and how do you change an EGR valve on a 2002 Tacoma 4-cylinder Prerunner?

its got about a 3" round top,a vacuum hose and a plug on it. it has tubes that run all the way around the back of the engine to the intake and to the exhaust manifold. this is not a job for the faint of heart, if it seems beyond you it probably is.

05 ford escape windshield washer control is reversed THE front operates the rear vice versa how can you repair this problem?

Some knob probably had it apart at some point and clipped the connectors for both washer pumps onto the wrong pump. The pumps will be at the base of the washer fluid reservoir. Disconnect the connectors at the pumps and clip them onto the opposite pump. Should fix your problem.

How do you change the Egr valve on 1995 Chevy s-10 with the 4-cylinder?

There are only two bolts holding it on, but are both underneath the EGR valve and not easy to get access. With some stubby wrenches, you should be able to remove it.

Where is the automatic transmission drain plug located on a 2001 V6 Ford Escape?

The drain plug is located just to the rear of the front axle shafts very near the bottom of the transmission case - and according to the diagram that I have it is a plug w/ a 3/8" square recess that you use a 3/8" ratchet drive to remove and install it. Use pipe sealer w/ teflon on the plug threads when you go to reinstall the plug and torque it to 20 ft lbs. Use MERCON Multi-purpose ATF transmission fluid to refill the transmission - you'll need about 3.9 qts for the refill. Run it through the gears and check the fluid level w/ the engine running at normal operating temperature w/ the transmission in whatever the owners manual says to have the transmission in - PARK or NEUTRAL.

Why does your 2004 Ford Escape Squeal when you accelerate?

Your Accessory Drive Belt may be slipping. This is often due to a wobbly pulley (water pump, air cond compressor, oil pump, alternator, power steering pump, idler pulley, tensioner pulley) or a weak Tensioner or a badly worn Drive Belt or any combination of the three!

This slip becomes obvious when you turn on the air conditioner (compressor clutch engages putting a load on the Drive Belt) or you start to accelerate from a complete stop or when going uphill. Usually when the engine is on a low gear and the momentum has not built up enough to overcome the load(s) that is placed on the Accessory Drive Belt.

My wife's 2006 Escape had a wobbly Idler Pulley, weak Belt Tensioner and worn Accessory Drive Belt (ribs become sharp or V-like, while new belt grooves are U-like and fat). When I replaced those three the squeal went away and because the belt was turning the accessories optimally (alternator especially) the engine was running with extra oomph! It was not a difficult job to do.

MK VIII Front Suspension front end drops down will re-inflate after two to three restarts of engine any ideas?

I have had the same problem on two ocassions. Your compressor is going bad. After having the compressor replaced (twice), everything was fine. Once it finally levels, turn the suspension off using the switch in the left side of the trunk. Wait awhile. If it drops again, the front bag(s) are leaking. Else the compressor is too worn out to lift properly within the 90 second time limit and the computer is cutting out to "protect" it; will need replacement as is not user serviceable. They go for around $160-$180 (4/2007). Suspect your bags as well, cause if they're leaking, that will cause the new compressor to overwork and fail again.

Maintenance Schedule The best way to get the maintenance schedule for your vehicle is to go to www.genuineservice.com and choose maintenance schedule from the left column. You'll then need to enter your VIN or answer some questions (year, model, transmission, etc.) about your vehicle. You'll get a complete maintenance schedule for your Ford Expedition. Good luck. ------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the "http://www.edmunds.com/products/maintguide/index.html" (no VIN needed).

Not only will it tells you the manufacturers recommended service, it'll estimate what it should cost in your zip code.

What is erg valve on 2001 ford escape?

EGR valves control the amount of oxygen that enters the combustion process in an engine. If there is too much oxygen and the fuel level is reduced to an economical level, the combustion temperatures become so high that pistons and exhaust valves burn and/or melt, and exhaust manifolds will literally glow red. By carefully controlling the amount of oxygen in the mixture, engineers have discovered a way to reduce the fuel consumption while maintaining an acceptable power level. EGR is an acronym for "Exhaust Gas Recycling", which means that a controlled percentage of combustion gas is allowed back into the engine to lower the percentage of oxygen. A faulty EGR valve can cause too much of the exhaust gas into the engine or worse, not enough. If it's not enough, your engine can literally burn itself to the point that it is useless. It's important to keep your EGR valve operating properly. Placement of the EGR valve is different on the different engine configurations. You'll need to take a look at the replacment EGR valve and look around for yours, or even ask the sales clerk.
