How do you change front brakes 2002 ZX2?
How do you change the front brakes on a Ford Escort- ZX2 model, 2002 model
If the idle is rough it could be the timing belt was improperly installed but it is even mroe likely that u need 2 adjst the idle... when popping the hood look to the left side of the engine near the distributor cap.... there will be a little plug...here is where u can adjust the idle... make sure to replug when finished.... good luck
AnswerDid it idle smooth before you changed the belt and now it doesn't idle smooth? Yeah, that's probably the belt...a quick way to check is to align the camshaft timing mark, then check the flywheel timing mark. If the belt's on wrong, you won't see a timing mark through that little hole--that thing is TINY!!!Additional info: The ground wires are VERY important on modern cars with computer-controlled everything. Repair any loose or broken ground wire right away, even if the car seems to run fine without it. Not doing so can cause all kinds of strange, bad things to happen.
What is a slight engine knock after shut down on a 1992 Acura Integra?
Sounds more like a run on, if this is after you shut off the car. Could just be some carbons, i'd clean out the carb/manifold with some spray cleaner or just pick up some fuel cleaner.
Where is the thermostat on 2003 Ford Escort ZX2?
the thermostat is located between the thermostat housing and the cylinder head.
To locate the thermostat housing you can follow the upper radiator hose. The part connecting the upper radiator hose to the cylinder head/engine is the thermostat housing. To remove it to access the thermostat will require the use of a 10mm wrench and the draining of the engine coolant
Check gas cap message 2001 Aurora how do I correct it?
A lot of times this comes up because the computer has detected an evaporative system leak. Make sure the gas cap is tight and if the message still comes up you can try a new gas cap. If still a problem you probably have a leak in the Evap system which will require repair. Even though you think your gas cap might be ok buy a new one it probally has a pressure release in it and it is no good. After replacing the gas cap then disconnect the positive cable from your battery for about 10 seconds and put it back on this will reset the computer and should take that message away. Had this problem, needed to diconnect both terminals for the code to clear. Thanks for the help in resolving this problem as GM dealer wanted $$$$$$ to clear code which only takes a minute with portable computer they have. No wonder they are losing market share!!!!
How do you change the O2 sensor on a 1998 Ford Escort?
On the front of the exhaust manifold you will see your sensor, otherwise, it may be before the catalytic converter on the underside of your car, it helps to go out and buy a special wrench made especially for removing the O2 sensor. Unplug the sensor from it's wiring, then use the wrench to remove the sensor, don't forget to spray it down with a good lubricant such as kroil or wd-40 an let it penetrate for a few minutes before attempting to remove it.
Where is the fuel pump located on 1999 ford zx2?

You can get to it by removing the back seat.
Why would your 97 Ford Escort gear shift be stuck in Park?
Stop light Switch is bad...costs about 6 bucks to replace it....its on the brake pedal itself
What is the gas mileage for a 98 ford escort lx?

Where is the air intake temperature sensor on a Ford Mustang GT?
The air intake temperature depends on the temperature of the outside air, which flows through the air assembly box.
The IAT sensor should be on the front of the intake just behind the dist cap & wires, or, for the 4.6l dual can and 4.6l quad cam (which have no distributor), at the air intake near the fender.

Added by Sneighke:
I think that can be narrowed down a little. The IATS should be right next to the MAF. Of course this assumes a SOHC 4.6L.
The question is rather vague.
Assuming a 4.6l, the IATS will be sticking out of the air intake hose, ahead of the throttle body, but close to the MAF sensor. It will have a two wire plug.
I'll speculate why you need to find it.... unplugging it and using a 1/4W, 4.7kOhm resistor, with short leads bend into "U" shapes, will plug into the cable fooling the EEC into thinking the air temperature is a (roughly) constant 65 degrees F, and, at least in a Cobra, which has the same EEC-V, will perk up the throttle response tremendously when in stop and go traffic when the under-hood temps skyrocket. It may also cause some engine knock when hitting the gas from a standstill due to the timing retard caused by the artificial cold temperature. The 4.6 DOHC rarely exhibits knocking (pre-ignition) because of it's built-in knock sensor which allows the EEC to safeguard against such knock.
I should probably add that I also yanked out my air snorkel causing more radiator wash (hot air) hitting the intake so fixing the effective sensor reading prevents the EEC from yanking timing due to hot intake air.
YMMV but both the SOHC and the DOHC 4.6's have the same basic intake arrangement.
If you have a 5.Ol (also known as "the 5-oh", and "5oh"), well then ignore this part of the answer as they're EEC-IV with MAP sensing rather than MAF, and the IAT sensor is next to the MAF sensor just behind the air cleaner, near the fender on the right side of the engine (or to the left looking at the front of the engine.

8000 pounds in 4 short (US) ton
key: remember there are 2000 in 1 ton and if you add 7000 it gives you 800 pounds in 4 tonsWhy would there be a squealing noise from under the dash?
My guess is a turn signal flasher, I think it is part # 552 or #323. It is the diameter of a quarter and about 1" long. usually silver in color. Locate it when it makes the noise to confirm it. If it is buy a new one, usually a few bucks. If that is the problem... Flasher? Nope! This'll be a speedometer or a speedometer cable! If the noise is present when the car is motionless, my theory is blown, though. Couldn't it be the heater fan?
What would cause the engine not to start on a Daewoo Leganza after the timing belt broke?
My timing belt was almost broke and they sais that it was a good thing that I got it to the dealer when I did, or the entire thing would have been wrecked. I don't think even a new engine would help Daewoo's have interference engines, more them likely you bent some or all of the valves...
If I had to guess you have the dash lights dimmed from their knob/switch. There is a dimmer option on most cars from early 80's on that I'm aware of at least.
I'd say check your owners manual if you still have it that is, the will explain how to use it.
Generally it's the light knob itself(most fords), you twist it left or right to brighten/darken, or a little slide knob (near the light switch usually) that operates like many air vents on/off interfaces do.....slides left/right: short but wide in size. If you continue having problems with it, take it to your nearest mechanic or better yet, find someone with the same car as you and ask them how to dim the lights if you don't have your owners manual of course ;) There is a small rotating slider knob located under the light switch just a bit lower and towards the steering column. Rotate it up to turn the dash lights up and down to dim them.
Is the ford escort ZX2 1999 an interference engine?
Disregard any information you may get from auto parts stores stating that the engine used in the ZX2 is an interference engine.
NOTE: the 1999 ZX2 had a running change in the design of the timing components in the middle of production. If your car was originally equipped with a valve cover which has provisions for a spark plug wire cover, then you will need the timing kit for a 1998-1999.5 (3-pulleys are used). If the valve cover does not have a provision for a spark plug cover, will have the letters "VCT" on it, then you will need the timing kit for a 1999.5-2003 (uses 2 pulleys)
Answer #1It depends on what motor you have. The ZX2 was available with a few motors. When mine broke I called... not exaggerating... 20 or 30 Ford dealerships and spoke with mechanics. About Half said with too much certainty "Oh you're fine! It's a non-interference for sure!" and the other half said "You're screwed! It is an interference motor. 99.9% chance that the valves were bent because you were driving it when it broke/slipped" Only about 2 mechanics of the 20+ took more than a couple minutes to check. One even called me back about an hour later after searching it up in books. This one said its okay, the other that spent time to find out said it's dead.Bottom line. Call Napa and they have a book they can look in and it takes like 2 seconds. Also many Timing belt companies have an application on the internet saying "Find out if your car is non interference or not" put in your cars info and GET MORE THAN ONE OPPINION!"
I'm still working on mine and I'll let you know how it goes. NAPA said dead, one belt companies book said OKAY, another said DEAD. We'll see.
What would cause a motor to make a loud bang and then sound like it doesnt have a muffler?
A buildup of raw fuel in the exhaust system is then ignited and damages the exhaust muffler or blows a pipe apart.
1 ton and 700 pounds is how many pounds?
I assume you mean a short ton? One equals 2000 lbs, so total would be 2700 lbs.
