Mine are on the passenger side of the engine, mounted underneath the alternator. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to replace them, probably will get at them from underneath. I haven't found a good description of how best to replace them as they are in a difficult spot, and you can't really see the mounting bolts or electrical connections other than the plug wires.

I'm not a mechanic / technician , but if you mean the 4.0 liter EFI , V6

engine , I would say ( no )

From what I have read there are ( 3 ) different engine blocks for the Ford

4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine ( which is an Over Head Valve / pushrod design engine )

( 1991 to 1994 Ford Explorer )

( 1995 and 1996 Ford Explorer )

( 1997 to 2000 Ford Explorer )

When the overdrive off light flashes it means the powertrain

control module has "received" information of a transmission problem.

Take it in to the dealer or other transmission repair professional,

continuing to drive with the O/D OFF light flashing can result in

damage to the transmission.

First the fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is in the front passenger footwell , in the corner , just above the carpet

The fuse and relay for the fuel pump is in the Power Distribution Box ( which is

" live " ) located in the engine compartment by the drivers side

The fuse for the Fuel System / Anti-theft System is a ( 20 amp maxi-fuse ) located in the row nearest the drivers side fender and it's the ( 6th maxi-fuse ) from the firewall end of the box

The fuel pump relay is one of the large relays in the ( 2nd row ) from the drivers side and it's the ( 2nd large relay ) in the box from the front of the vehicle

Man I sure wish the power distribution box diagram was numbered in the 1996 Ford Explorer Owner Guide

On most vehicles the fuel tank must be dropped from the vehicle in order to access the pump. On some vehicles however there is an access panel above the fuel pump inside the vehicle. Be sure and look there.

The fuel pump inertia switch is located in the right front passenger area. It is below the dash but above the carpet in the right hand corner.

On your 1995 Ford Explorer the fuse for the blower motor is in the Power

Distribution Box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment on the

drivers side

It is the maxi fuse in the ( 1st row ) from the drivers side and in the ( 3rd

spot from the firewall end ) a red color 50 amp maxi fuse

For a 2000 Ford Explorer 4.0 liter V6 engine ( both the OHV and SOHC )

With engine oil filter change :

( 5.0 U.S. quarts / 4.7 litres of 5W-30 )

If the check engine light is flashing that means an engine cylinder misfire

has been detected . You can drive the vehicle in for repair , just avoid any

rapid acceleration or deceleration because you can damage the catalytic

converter
