You can ONLY use Motorcraft CVT Transmission oil. Any others will void warranty and permanently damage transmission. As far as I know, nobody else makes a replacement oil for it yet

After 90,000 miles I have had a range of 17 city to 26 highway. Pulling a 3000 pound trailer I still get close to 18 on the highway. It's a Brenderup trailer with inertial braking and the manufacturer swears it is okay to exceed ford's 2000 pound recommended towing capacity.

The five digit code is printed in two other places on the car, at least this is how it is on mine. One copy is just under the trunk hinge on the drivers side of the car. The other is on the computer module behind the driver side door panel.

The tail light on my 2005 Freestyle is held in position in 4 places. There are two large Phillips screws that secure the rear of the tail light assembly, which can be accessed and removed with the tail gate open. The front of the tail light assembly is held in with two clips. These clips can be seen if you look at the side of the car near the front part of the assembly (on my car, there was one black one and one white one. They almost look like screws or bolts, but they aren't.

First, I removed the two Phillips screws. With the screws removed, slide the whole tail light assembly straight to the back. The two clips on my car were VERY tight. I had to carefully rock the whole assembly while pulling straight back. If that does not work insert a screw driver in the gap at the front of tail light assembly and pry toward the back (make sure to use a rag between the screw driver and the paint). I replaced both turn signal lamps, and both tail light assemblies required a fair amount of force to brake free of the clips.

To access the bulbs, twist the bulb socket a quarter turn, then pull straight out. The bulbs can be removed from the sockets by pulling them straight out.

Reverse the process to re-assemble. It goes back together very easily.

Excellent advice and worked for me. My rear bumper was replaced after a fender bender and the paint scratched slightly below the tail light as it was removed (some pressure is required to release the clips). The factory paint may be more robust, but a rag should be placed on the bumper for protection under the tail light assembly, as it is pulled straight back. This will also protect the bumper as the assembly wants to sit on it as you replace the bulbs.

I just stopped by the dealership to pick up the oil cause the RX 8 tends to eat oil because of the rotary engine. He told me 5 quarts of oil to fill it up. I would suggest always keeping a few in your trunk though for the times you get caught off guard at a gas station because your oil is low. Check it often!!

look under the driver seat, remove the two french frys , the penny and the dime next to the quarter. then check the wire connection there. i had the problem on a explorer once. then clear the code and see if it comes back on.

Possibly. Purchase a magnetic tipped extension at most auto parts stores. It is small enough to go into the tube and grab the dip stick. The above advice will probably not work if the dip stick broke along the plastic handle. I retrieved my dip stick through the use of a dowel (actually a wooden skewer) and some super glue. It took a couple of tires, but once I got the glue to set properly without touching the inside of the dip stick tube, the broken stick came right out.
