Will an egr valve or a mass air flow sensor cause a 94 probe to die while driving?
Yes it will since the fault gives the ECM (computer) and the TPS sensor (Throttle position sensor) bad values. The EGR might do it but the MAF will def. do it and it will also prevent the car to start normally if it is faulty. Hook a paper clip in the dignostic module (near the fuse box in the engineroom) between the GND and TST (Look on the inside of the lid for wich is wich) and then go to the drivers seat and turn the ignition on. Calculate how many times the "Check Engine" light goes on.
A long means 10 and a short means 1, add them together and make a note eg. 25 means "Fuel Pressure Regulator" and 41 means VRIS#1. Go on google and make a search for OBD +error codes and you should get an answer quite quickly on what sensors and such are faulty.
