Why do we use red and blue colors for the 3D lenses?

To act as filters so that the left eye sees only the stereo image intended for it and the right eye sees only the stereo image intended for it. With each eye seeing only its intended image, the brain is able to merge these different 2D images into a single 3D perceived image. Red and Blue were selected because they match the sensitivity peaks of the pigments used in two of the three different types of cone cells in the human eye for color vision, and these peaks are the most widely separated (the Green peak is much too close to the Red peak for those colors to work, and while Green and Blue lenses would work it was decided not to use them. Because this system depends on our color vision to separate the images, it will only work for black & white 3D movies and will not reliably work for people with red-blue color blindness (although most red-blue colorblind people will still see the 3D effect due to the rod cells in the human eye for black & white vision, but the effect may be weaker).

For color 3D movies polarized filters (with the polarization angle of the eyes rotated 90 degrees apart) are used instead of red and blue so each eye sees only its intended image in full color.

For 3D video games a different type of glasses are used with electronically controlled LCD shutters in the lenses that alternately turn black on one eye and transparent on the other eye, so that each eye sees only its intended frame of video.

Why can you can see with 2 eyes if you can with 1 eye?

It's true that monocular vision can be almost as good as the "real thing". There are plenty of visual cues that the brain can use to triangulate space without actually using triangulation. These include the relative speed that things seem to move as you walk or turn, or the variations of shadows on uneven surfaces.

Have you ever gone cross-eyed or tried Magic Eye puzzles? You are actually seeing two images at once, just with slight differences from one another. If you were to put the two images side-by-side, you could judge how near or far an object was by the distance between its left and right images. The result of overlaying the images is a single, distorted "three-dimensional" image, like a sheet of metal that's been dented outward and inward or a fresco with protrusions depicting various figures. Almost the same as a flat drawing, just with better highlights.

How do you make a 2d image 3d?

You can do this on adobe photoshop. I used CS5 because it is the easiest. First take a 2D picture and open it in photoshop. Then rename the layer to Layer ____, instead of Background. Now, duplicate the layer so there are two layers of the same image. Hide the first layer (the top layer) and click on the second. Click Edit>Transform>Perspective and pull the top left corner up just a little bit and press enter. Then view the first layer and do the same thing, except pull the top right corner up about the same distance. Now, using the mouse tool, drag the picture on the first layer to the right. Hide that layer and do the same with the second, except drag it left. Use the crop tool and only take the middle portion. Now, double click on the first layer, and uncheck the "R" and press enter. You should see an anaglyph image. Wear cyan and red 3D glasses and adjust the image accordingly. (for best results, keep the red on the right eye)

When was the first plate glass mirror made?

It can be presumed that the word "plate" is referring to the degree of uniformity delivered by the float glass process. The first automated plate glass was made in 1848 by Henry Bessemer using a roller process. Uniformity was produced by grinding, as opposed to inherent material forces as occurs in modern float glass processes. If we presume that anything made prior to this time would suit the definition of 'plate' glass, then mirrors could not have occurred much sooner than this time.

Is there a 3 day grace period in Arizona if cash was paid for an automobile and you change your mind about the purchase?

There is no cooling off or grace period law in any state when it concerns the sale of an automobile. Normally that law applies to door to door sales and certain home repairs. it is a myth that it applies to the sale of automobiles.

Some used car dealers do incorporate that type of return provision into their contract - allowing, for example, you to return the car within five days or 200 miles if you are dissatisfied. Some unscrupulous dealers, however, suggest or tell customers that they can return the car when it's not in the contract. I have seen, at times, new car dealers who would on occasion offer a 24 hr grace period on new car sales. All you can do it talk to they selling dealer. Unless it is in the contract, you cannot return the car.
